I've actually never written a review of any place, ever, but I had such an amazing experience with getting our photos done, that I just had to write one! We did the wet plate, which is well worth the money and so much better than just doing a digital photos. Seeing the process is very interesting, and you can tell she (I didn't get her name!) is truly passionate about what she does. We had such a great time, and ended up staying a little longer than we had expected. Our photos turned out fantastic, the two people working were so friendly and fun. Best thing we did in Gettysburg. I cannot wait to bring my parents out to get portraits of them! This is a must for anyone who wants a fun and unique memory. read more

Last summer my company went to Gettysburg from Canada on a business trip, and decided that it'd be fun to get a group picture done with an old fashioned effect. We made an appointment at the Victorian Photography Studios. We arrived about 15 minutes early at the studio and was told that they would not take us early and to come back closer to the time of the appointment. The group wandered around town for a while and came back maybe 5 minutes late. We were told that they could not take us now. We walked up the stree and found Servant's Olde Tyme Photos. There was only one employee working and she informed us that they operated in the first come, first serve system, so she could take us right away. Even though it was last second and we had a group of about 12, she was able to put all of us into costumes. The employee was in good spirits and made the whole experience very enjoyable. Who knew taking a picture could be so much fun? We were so satisfied with the product, that we each bought one of every shot that she had taken. Not only did we get a great souvenir, but we also made some great memories to go along with it. The whole group would recommend Servant's Olde Tyme Photos over the Victorian Studios. Overall, they were cheaper, the quality was just as good, the one employee had more fun than both of the employees at Victorian Studios, and the experience was priceless! If you want to get a great photo and have fun in the process, choose Servant's!!! read more

This experience was pathetic. I actually never had a Yelp account but was so taken aback by how bad this experience was that I felt inclined to join. First off, we went in on a weekend day and the gentleman who owns the place was very nice. He was cheerful and welcoming. He booked us for a 12pm appt the next day. He said to get there between 11:30 and 12. So the next day we arrived at 11:50. It would have been even sooner if not for all the traffic in town. The woman who also runs the place answered the door(which was blocked by a sign as if they were closed), and immediately stated, "YOU had an 11:30 appointment." I informed her that our appointment was at noon, and that we'd arrived early like the man asked. "Well just the paperwork alone..." WHAT? Paperwork. Like we're going in for surgery. I told her that if our business was an inconvenience we'd be happy to go spend our $70 elsewhere. She said she was told to be there between 11:30 and 11:45. So now her story changed a bit, too. She pretended to be willing to work with us but the nastiness we received just by how she answered the door was enough for us. The man was nice, but this woman gave me one of the poorest experiences I've had in a long time. When your livelihood is tourism, you'd think you'd have some sense to be a bit more welcoming. In the end I was glad not to spend my money there. read more

I went to Gettysburg for the 150th anniversary of the civil war. I didn't plan on having a photo taken but after seeing some friends pose for one, I asked if she could fit me in. It was one of the best decisions! I am a full figured gal (4x) so naturally I was concerned about the dress selection. They dressed me in the most beautiful purple gown and pearls and made me feel totally at ease. I looked and felt beautiful. I absolutely recommend making an appointment. 8:01p.m.l update - A call back... business issue with phones and out of town. Stress level now #2, beer time: 12 phone calls so far... 4 VM's... 3 attempts to contact via their website... Face book message... 2 actual contacts with their appointment service that could not help... over the past 3days. NOT ONE RESPONSE. Why in the hell would anyone drive a hours for an appointment that is only confirmed by an outside internet vendor. No faith they would even be there or the business even be still "in business". read more
