She responded to my emails within 24 hours and, frankly, has responded to me multiple times while I am still trying to get a response from the place I bought my dress. You'll be in the attic so prepare to sweat a little and do some work digging, but I found "the one" in 30 minutes. The dress was too small (by several sizes) so I'll spend a little in alterations, but walked out with my dream dress for $350! Everyone I worked with was very helpful, friendly, and kept checking in on me. They also offered good insight on what was possible for alterations.

I called and 'tried' to make an appointment. ** Over the phone, any other bridal gallery should at least ask you for your name, number, appointment date and time (usually a one hour time slot)... if not any more detail. ** The lady neither asked me for my name or my phone number, let alone anything else. I found this strange but proceeded to set in stone 'my own appointment' with her over the phone. The day of the 'appointment' I showed up right at 12 noon (when I told her I would like to come in and when they opened) and proceeded to wait 5 minutes while the lady gabbed on the phone. Once the phone conversation was over, she greeted herself and asked what I had in mind. I showed her a picture and she immediately exclaimed, "we don't have anything like that in this store!" I then proceeded by stating, "I'm open to anything" (as I had not tried on any dresses prior) and would like to have the bridal experience and I had no clue what shape/dress would look good on me. My hopes were drained when she pointed to their selection and stated, "look through here - if you find anything you like - I'll be up at the counter". As she walked away, the phone rang... I left. ** I have enough knowledge of the bridal business that this is not the way you are to be treated. She never asked me my budget... who knows(?) I could have been anybody with any type of budge... but it doesn't matter - she lost a sale. I took my business to J&B Bridal in Chambersburg, PA (20-25 min away and totally worth it). First, they took my dress in and literally made it 1.5 inches to small, it would not even zipper. So then I had to come back and they were trying to put boning in, but it did not look good so then I had to ask for them to take it out. And STILL the dress is too small but they would not listen to me when I asked for it to be slightly bigger. It felt like I was being dismissed and they were really poor at communication. I was hoping for better, especially after all of the good reviews, but it did not live up to the expectations. For how expensive they are, I would spend my money elsewhere.

As I had already been to many bridal shops I knew exactly what dress I was looking for and called Beverly to see if she had the dress available to try on. To my surprise (I had called several shops within the State College radius) she had just received the dress in from the designer and made an appointment with me. My family and friends lived across the country from me so when I arrived to Beverly's shop it was just me. Beverly graciously helped me try on the gown, gave me an honest opinion and made me feel like family. In addition, Beverly saved me and my friend quite a bit of money. I was worried about the cost of shipping the dress home for the wedding so I called a bridal location (Charlottes Weddings & More) closer to home where I had previously tried gowns on. I explained the situation to an associate and let them know of the gown and size I wanted. They quoted me $250 more for the gown than Beverly had quoted me. I recommended Beverly's Touch of Class to a friend as she had a similar situation in which she knew her dress and size desired. Beverly also gave her a price that was less than the price quoted by Diamonds & Lace in State College where she tried the gown on. If you're looking for a low key and causal experience to try on dresses, Beverly's Touch of Class is worth the drive.
