Right off the bat, I felt very at ease with her as a therapist. We established my goals for seeking therapy and discussed strategies for treatment. She's very knowledgeable and took the time to really educate me on the various treatment options we could explore. Talk therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy helped me become better equipped to deal with my feelings of anxiety and talk myself down before they started to get the better of me. I feel stronger as a person now and more able to handle the curve balls that life throws my way. I'm really grateful for her help. I'd recommend her to anyone who needs help dealing with life's difficult issues.

I am writing this review on behalf of my mother. We visited Meredith Monroe together for an initial…read morefree consultation to evaluate if V.L.I. Hypnosis would be a good option for my mother to assist her in her endeavor to quit smoking. We wanted to meet Meredith to gauge her personality, inquire about her techniques and previous success rates and experiences with smoking cessation, and to determine the average sessions needed and associated costs. After spending about 1.5 hours with Meredith talking and asking and answering questions, it was obvious that she was going to be a great choice for my mother's requirements. It was determined that my mother would need 3, one-hour sessions to achieve her goals. During my mother's first session, I waited patiently at home for her to return after an hour, expecting her to arrive home within 5-minutes after the session was to end. She didn't arrive home until an hour and a half after the expected time. I asked her where she was and she said that she just finished with Meredith. I said to her that it was supposed to be an hour. She replied that Meredith doesn't rush or stick to firm timetables. This was the case with each session. Each session lasted at least 2-hours or more long, not the originally agreed upon 1-hour. My mother paid for the 3, one-hour sessions up-front at the time of the first session. No additional monies were collected for the extra time. My mother explained to me that Meredith's voice was so soothing and calming and that she didn't realize when she was in the "trance state," but felt as though she was floating and that her arms were actually floating above the arms of the chair. Meredith implanted subconscious thoughts into my mother's mind (my mother's words) that she knew she heard, but could not really vocalize what was said due to the state of mind she was experiencing during the hypnosis. After each session, my mother felt stronger and stronger, more positive than the session before and hasn't smoked since the first session. Meredith continued to reinforce the idea that my mother was never going to smoke again and she hasn't. My mother occasionally says she could go for a smoke, but the feeling passes as quickly as it comes on. My mother insists that she'll never smoke again. Meredith indicated, prior to the first session, that she makes herself available 24-hours a day by telephone and email for pep talks and encouragement to keep people on track. My mother highly recommends using V.L.I. Hypnosis for any subconscious addictions or habits that you cannot seem to break or get under control. She swears that Meredith's techniques and approach are outstanding. Meredith, my mother cannot thank you enough!

The total cost was $7200.00 for treatment (out of pocket insurance does not cover any cost) and I had to decide on the spot, that day if I wanted the services or not. When asked if I could have time to think about it first, I was told no. I was promised that 6 months of therapy was like 7 years of psychiatric therapy. Out of desperation I elected to take the therapy offered. Over the next 3 months of weekly appointments, I was given over 25 different supplements; some I only took for two or three weeks. I laid on a table and had different little bottles placed on my chest. After 10 minutes, I was given a list of what supplements to take and then put on a machine that swayed me from side to side. Only four actual appointments addressed the different traumas I had experienced throughout my life, and I was asked to put my hands in weird positions, then asked to embrace the moment of trauma, not how to release it, feel better, stop obsessing over it or strategies to decrease my depression/PTSD. I put my trust in the doctor, and it was an absolute failure. I called the office and told them I was not coming in anymore, expressed my reasons why and was refunded $1900. I do not recommend this practice. It was a waste of time and money.

From 2016/17 thru 2018 I attended group with councilor Becka. In 2018 she could no longer lead our group as she was needed to write a new program for an extended rehab. Our group was allowed to continue to meet in the building without her present, but we were soon to fall apart without her guidance. My one year to 18 months of counseling there was invaluable. My beautiful daughter was battling a heroine addiction and the education, companionship, understanding and direction given by our counselor was priceless. Talking with her and other parents with the same issues was helping me keep some kind of sanity and helped me to know I was not alone. strong bonds of love and respect were made by all attending. The educational component helped us parents to know the proper way to support our children without enabling them. it has been seven years since our group has been together; some of our children, including my daughter Emily have passed, but we may be getting together soon and I would love to see Becka again and invite her to our group. The staff and the program at M&Z Mechanicsburg are outstanding! I was in and out of M&Z a few times. I completed the bare minimum of the program back in early 2018. In March of 2019, I found myself back for another evaluation (not court ordered, all voluntary). Intensive Outpatient (IOP) was recommended. I struggled with the program for about 2 months before working to get in to their partial program (5 days a week from 9a-1p). I didn't last more than 5 days in that program before relapsing. I was discharged unsuccessfully from M&S. Fast forward to July of 2019 when I checked in to an inpatient rehab for 28 days. Upon completing inpatient, I once again reached out to Mazzitti & Sullivan. They welcomed me back. I was in the IOP from mid August thru the beginning of October. I stepped down to regular outpatient and remained in group therapy until the end of December. I also had individual counseling sessions throughout the entire outpatient program, and I continued those sessions through mid February. Mazitti & Sullivan (Mechanicsburg), and my counselor, Kyle, are a big part of my recovery story. The entire staff at the Mechanicsburg office is amazing. I looked forward to my appointments and groups. I really worked through a lot of issues that were holding me back from sobriety in the past. I was able to be open and felt that my thoughts and feelings were heard and respected. The communication with my counselor was easy and open. I took to heart and mind all of his advice and feedback. The group sessions were very informative and positive. I learned a lot about myself, alcoholism, and recovery at M&Z.

Even while she emphasized that I would not get the results I wanted if I did not do my exercises. This is what I tell my friends: If you ever need physical therapy DO the exercises. They work! My time at therapy was a great learning experience. The atmosphere was comfortable and professional. I learned quite a bit about how my body is meant to function physically. Observing other therapists added to my experience. They cared for and interacted well with patients. Thank you, Madden & Gilbert for helping me in my time in need. My life is easier now. I continue doing exercises in times of discomfort and I will continue exercising to develop strength. Pardon my French... getting old is a bitch. :-(

I had my first reiki session (ever) with Denise at Reiki by Rickie a few weeks ago…read more To begin, the space was a bit unexpected. You have to enter a corporate office building and go into the basement to find the studio. But once you're inside, the area is warm and welcoming. Denise gave me an overall good experience. She's an intuitive reiki practitioner, so she shared some insights on my energy and images that she channeled during the session. We talked about this a bit afterward, which was helpful and interesting. The session itself seemed good. (It was my first reiki ever so I don't have a comparison.) Denise explained to me everything that would happen and made sure I was comfortable at various points. I left feeling relaxed and comfortable. There were a few snags, like a confusion with the appointment time after a rescheduled and challenges with the credit card reader, that took me out of a relaxed state of being. But I think this is uncommon. Overall, I had a positive experience and would tell others to give it a Reiki by Rickie a shot if they're curious about it.
