Incorrect Diagnosis and Dismissive Rude Response by Dr. Tommy Hooper…read more It's a shame I'm having to write this as we have been patients of Complete Health Clinics across the Nashville area for over 12 years now, but this experience will be putting an end to that. My 16-year-old son was seen by Dr. Hooper for persistent fever, severe frontal headache, extreme fatigue, drainage, and over 10 days of symptoms. When I asked about the possibility of bacterial sinusitis, the provider dismissed the concern solely because flu, COVID, and strep tests were negative (which could have been false based on the delayed testing timeline). He stated that meant it could not be bacterial and declined antibiotics but offered a steroid shot. When I respectfully questioned the reasoning, we were told we could leave as he opened our door to show us out and instructed us to go get our steroid and antibiotics somewhere else. We sought a second opinion the same day, and he was diagnosed with acute bacterial sinusitis and started on antibiotics. I understand the importance of antibiotic stewardship. However, dismissing concerns without discussion and responding defensively when a parent asks questions was disappointing. I hope future patients feel heard and respected.

We were told only one doctor working today and all the time slots were full. They turned my mom away from care. If I could I would give them no stars. Awful front desk greeting. Never saw the doctor. We were turned away by the front desk. I think they should take the word "Urgent" from the company name.

My friend sustained second-degree burns a few weeks ago after a Starbucks tea lid popped off as he picked up the drink while getting out of the car, and this urgent care happened to be the closest option available. During the initial visit, the experience was fine. We saw a male doctor whose name I unfortunately do not remember, but the interaction was normal, professional, and friendly. We later had two follow-up appointments. The first follow-up also went smoothly with a blonde female doctor wearing glasses who was pleasant and professional. Unfortunately, the second follow-up experience was completely different. A blonde woman with glasses who appeared to oversee the front desk was speaking loudly across the room while requesting patients' personal information. At one point, she had two people at the desk simultaneously asking both individuals for personal information. My friend became very uncomfortable and later said "the lady gave him a headache" because personal questions were repeatedly being called out loudly, and people often seemed confused about whether she was speaking to them, having to repeatedly ask, "Are you talking to me?" In a medical setting where privacy should be expected, this felt highly unprofessional. Additionally, a heavier woman repeatedly came to the front desk to ask the receptionist if she was okay, but only when I, or another Black woman nearby, happened to stand near the front desk for any reason. I never spoke to her directly and never even interacted with her personally, which made the repeated behavior feel uncomfortable and unusual. During this follow-up, another doctor (an older blonde woman with glasses) entered the room with an energy that immediately felt aggressive. She seemed dismissive of my presence as a support person and spoke loudly in my friends face while examining his skin. We have photographs of the burns, and the skin was still visibly sensitive and partially raw in areas. Despite this, she stated that it looked "completely healed," even though the area remained sensitive enough that even wearing a shirt over it caused discomfort. We also received guidance from a family friend with experience working in a burn unit who advised continuing to keep the area covered and lightly bandaged until the skin had healed further. Hearing that the injury was "completely healed" despite what we were still seeing and experiencing created confusion and concern. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was the atmosphere surrounding us. The doctor, nurses, and receptionist were laughing loudly and made inappropriate comments implying that I was acting like my friend's mother, when in reality I was simply there because he experiences anxiety in situations like these and wanted support. It felt uncomfortable having our friendship perverted through assumptions and sexual jokes. This occurred after I simply asked for a receipt for our payment, which seems like a completely ordinary request. I remained quiet and respectful throughout the visit, yet I felt subjected to inappropriate comments and uncomfortable looks. As someone who has dealt with inappropriate jokes and assumptions in the past, the experience was personally upsetting and brought back trauma. What concerned me most was not simply the humor itself, but what felt like a lack of judgment and emotional maturity in a setting where patients are vulnerable and trusting healthcare professionals with their care. In healthcare, professionalism, awareness, and sound judgment are essential because patients should never leave feeling ridiculed, sexually assaulted verbally and emotionally uncomfortable. Overall, this experience was disturbing and disappointing. Healthcare environments should prioritize professionalism, patient privacy, respect, and making patients feel safe and heard. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Please use discretion if you already struggle with anxiety, past sexual trauma, or place a high value on privacy, professionalism, and feeling respected while receiving care. God bless.

It's cold and flu season so it's full and for the first twenty minutes I'm standing in the walk way of the self check out. My appointment was at 2:20. I got their early to try to check in. Their kiosk was broken and I had to stand there and wait for the receptionist to sign me in. It was 3 before I was actually seen. I know usually you have to wait a little after your appointment time, but when I got in there I knew there was no good reason to have waited as long as I did. The NP, Christie Carr, had zero social skills. She gave me a flu and Covid test and they were negative, but then she said since it's been less than 24 hours since symptoms started, it was probably wrong. Okay. Why did you even give me a test then if you thought it wasn't going to be accurate? Then she said she thought it was "probably flu" but couldn't tell me even an approximation of when I wouldn't be contagious anymore if it was flu. I've had the flu before and I've had an upper respiratory infection. I told her I thought it was an upper respiratory infection and that I needed a steroid pack or something. She said she couldn't gI've met a steroid pack because that might make it worse. She said just take OTC meds to treat symptom. When I asked her what she recommended she couldn't even tell me that. I have never been to a clinic where they didn't at least recommended something to get from the pharmacy isle. She just said there was nothing they do or give me. The only thing that happened from me going there was that they took $25 and over an hour of life away from me. More than that, I was hurting so much and was so frustrated that I started having a panic attack on the drive home. I had to pull over because I couldn't stop crying. I have never posted on yelp before, but if at least one person can avoid the same experience I had, at least something good will have come from it. I should have left with some hope of feeling better but instead I felt worse off than before. NEVER go to this location. There are plenty of other walk in clinics and plenty of other little clinics. This one needs to be shut down.

Appointments don't seem to mean much because I'm always left waiting well past my scheduled time. If you need a prescription refill, don't expect it to happen after your appointment unless you call and remind the office. That shouldn't be the patient's responsibility. There also seems to be constant turnover among the nurse practitioners, so it's rare to see the same provider twice, making it difficult to build any continuity of care. During my visits, Dr. Levitt has often remained several feet away while assessing me, which has left me feeling like my concerns weren't thoroughly evaluated or that I received much of a physical examination. The only bright spots have been Tiffany, the nurse, and the wonderful woman at the front desk who collects the copays. They have always been pleasant, kind, and professional, and they stand out in an otherwise disappointing experience. My last interaction regarding a prescription refill was with Holly, and it was the final straw. Based on that conversation, I felt that she was not truthful with me about my prescription, spoke to me in a condescending manner, and seemed intent on provoking a reaction instead of helping resolve the issue. It was one of the most unprofessional interactions I've had in a medical office. AND THEY DID NOT EVEN SEND OVER THE PRESCRIPTION THAT I NEEDED FOR THAT VISIT!!!!! Overall, the office feels disorganized, communication is poor, and the patient experience has been consistently disappointing. I hope the practice takes these concerns seriously because patients deserve timely care, better communication, and to be treated with professionalism and respect.
