Avoid this gamestore at all costs. The owner is absolutely horrible. Who keeps their personal collection in the same area as games being sold? Everytime i asked about buying an item, it was his personal items. Then has a nasty attitude when you ask anything. Then to top it all off, he price checks everything. He needs to take his personal crap home or away from items being sold. Having to wait and look up prices for every little item it disgusting practice and the the price is so high that i put everything back and walked out, learn how to run a store or sell it to someone who does!!!! read more

Don't waste your time here. The only good thing I have to say about it is they have a wide selection that you might not find other places. But that doesn't go far when a) half of it is the owner's personal collection and not for sale (I don't care if it's "storage," keep personal items boxed up and out of sight where people won't ask about them instead of showing it off and making it look like it's part of the store inventory - save yourself AND your customers a mutually uncomfortable hassle!) and b) the items that actually are for sale are often marked way way up. Some don't even have price tags and you have to ask. And then might get met with it's "not priced yet" or it was never for sale in the first place. The owner is rude and has an oversized ego. He was really horrible to his female employee the last (and final) time I went to where it was really uncomfortable and offputting, and he can be nasty to customers too if they touch something they (very understandably) didn't know wasn't for sale. If you try to say you didn't know it wasn't for sale he will get snippy and say there's signs but there really isn't clear signage on some things. All in all it's not a very good way to run a business. There are fortunately lots of other video game stores in the Daytona area to explore instead. Go to Blue Dragon, Omega, Video Game Dungeon at the flea, or Hudson's at the mall instead for helpful and friendly staff who actually like their clientele, treat their personnel respectfully, and want to sell you their wares. First and most important thing you should know about this store: They do not price their items. They give you a price when you ask them for it (they then look up what it's worth on eBay). I absolutely hate, hate, hate stores that do this (I've been to another one that does this elsewhere). The people who run stores like that are such fucking penny pinchers that they ABSOLUTELY MUST make sure they're not underselling ANYTHING AT ALL. Some of the games on the wall actually did have price tags, so I took some of those to the register, but from past experience, I knew exactly what would happen. As soon as I handed the cashier the items, they started looking them up. They then told me that the prices were outdated and that they'd have to give them new (higher) prices (I will admit I'm a bit of a deal hunter, so most of the items I'd picked were a bit undervalued, but still, obviously they hadn't sold at those prices to your customer base, so good luck with selling them for higher I guess lmao). I told them I'm just gonna leave and walked out. Probably not going back. Please don't run your business like this, it's incredibly scummy. Price gouging sucks. read more

Was in town and wanted to stop by this store, got here at 8:30, open sign still on. But locked up. I've heard this place is under new ownership. Not a very good first impression of you can't even stay open to your posted closing time. Update: came back to give the store another chance. It was Sunday about 7 this time. Earlier than last time just in case. Open sign on, but door was locked. Guy (not owner) opened it and according to him they aren't even open on sundays (even though their posted hours state otherwise) but he'd let me shop. I understand the store is under new ownership but goodness, the games may be on the shelf but the lack of organization was definitely a detriment. Prices were okay, the selection was honestly remarkable but something happened and it majorly bothered me. So the games there combined the owners old store's inventory with video game galaxys inventory. Evident by the varying price stickers on the games. Video game galaxies stickers (old owners) are large white printed stickers. The two new ones were white small paper stickers and small pink paper stickers. I found a game that was admittedly underpriced, although in a broke case and no manual, but the guy noticed it was an Atlus ps2 title, lied to me saying it was an older sticker from the old galaxy (which it wasn't I've been to this store under the older ownership 30 times) and had to text the owner for the price. Price more than tripled and wouldn't honor price even though I was spending over 200 dollars. I just know other stores in the area would've honored the price. read more

The owner of this store is a self-absorbed head case. He is always reorganizing the store, I've been here about 5 times and it's always changing with piles of inventory somewhere. The worst part of this place is you can't buy most of the stuff here. It's his personal collection that is mixed in and it's not for sale. What kind of business is this, sir? I've been here several times and will not be back until the store is under new management. One visit, his son was here and he made him cry and was yelling at him in the store. It was extremely uncomfortable. Great selection of games and stuff here but you really can't buy most of what you'll really want and the prices are out of whack on some things. Anything in the glass that is desirable, if he's not there the other staff have to call him to get a price. This is a huge waste of time for your customers man. We don't want to wait around all day because you can't trust your employees and price your inventory. Do not go here because the things you want, you can't buy. I would rather go to GameStop because I know I'll have good customer service and not hear the personal life woes of the owner and him brag about his collection that isn't for sale. I'm sorry to leave such a negative review but I have only had 1 good experience out of 5 visits over 2-3 years and it was a day where the owner wasn't there on a Saturday and the employee didn't call him that day. I got a good deal on Untouchables for NES and Doom II for PC. Those are the experiences where your customers come back. read more

Absolutely terrible service. Says one thing on the phone, you arrive it's another. Complete lack of business owning skills. Never has cash, always try's to half ass everything. I call to sell something. I arrive he can't give me what he said he would on the phone, In my situation of trying to make quick money for an emergency he can't give me what he said on the phone because he's suddenly building a basketball court.....in a video game store. If you ever need somewhere to go to buy/sell/trade games or consoles or anything of the matter. Go anywhere but here. Save yourself the time and effort. I'd put -5 stars if I could. read more

This is a review of Video Game Galaxy. I think Video Game Galaxy is great. For 3 years I have gone and had a great experience. We traded in our old Xbox and got a original PlayStation. Over the years we have gotten resident evil 1 2 and 3, NASCAR 2001 and Gameshark with two Memory cards and 2 controllers. Over all great experience keep up the good work. read more

2 stars because my previous experience was decent. This was my second visit. I went in to buy my nephew a kids game for our Wii. The cashiers constant cursing and discussing girls being raped in alleys caused me to walk out fairly quick. I'm left wondering if he would have cared if my nephew had been with me, or I had a bad experience in the past.
