I had already found a good stack of comics so I wasn't just passing time with no intention of buying some. The owner eventually couldn't handle this and told me "Just take the comic out and set it to the side. I'll put it back." These were not high dollar comics, might I add. Some of them weren't even bagged, let alone boarded. I ended up putting down my stack of comics I had planned on purchasing and walked out the door. I will never return to this store for the rest of my life.

There's a selection of kid-friendly comic books at the back right corner and teen graphic novels to your right when you enter. New releases go up on the wall every Wednesday. This store has been helping Saint Augustine geek out since 1986.

Cliff specializes in horror, sci-fi, mystery, comics, but carries at least something from just about any other genre you can think of. Some of the older more rare books are kept in a thin plastic protectors to preserve them, and are neatly organized onto shelves. Cliff also sells a variety of collectable glassware and toys. It's best to let Cliff know what you are looking for so he can direct you to the right location. I asked him where he keeps music books and he took me right to the spot then informed me that the entire bottom shelf was full of them, but I would need to dig a little since there was three more stacks of music-related books in front of the shelf; I was in heaven, lol! There was a lot to sift through and I didn't even see it all because my wife was pulling me out before I get deep in it. Regardless, I decided on purchasing three music books: Hits of the 90's for $6; Casio Piano sound Music Library Piano Scores for $8; and Guns N' Roses Anthology for Guitar for $15. When I went to check out, I asked Cliff if he could sell me all three for $25 and he said no problem. Then he got distracted with another customer for a minute and came back to me and asked "what was I charging you again," and I replied $25 and started to pull out cash and he said "Lets just make it an even $20," wow, what an awesome guy! Thank you, Cliff! Cliff also hosts big comic events in the DeLand area, so if your interested in those types events I recommend checking out his Instagram or Facebook page since the main website is a bit outdated with all of his happenings. All-in-all, a great book store and I recommend Cliff's if you are a book lover and are in the area shopping. I will be back!

However, if you are looking for hard to find issues, back issues of popular and hard to find comics, then this is your NIRVANA. I have been inside this shop a number of times and always find what I am looking for and more. The owner is helpful, engaging and will help you search for what you are looking for. Prices are fair and the atmosphere is low key. But when you have a chill location like this, understand you have to be flexible. I have been by a few times when they were closed during hours they were supposed to open and have looked for tho ha I was sure they had, but did not. The energy is always high, the vibes are immaculate, and the staff keeps the shelves stocked with a ridiculous variety of comics, collectibles, action figures, FUNKO Pops, short boxes, supplies, and more. It's literally the kind of place where you can lose an hour without even realizing it. First off, say hello to Pacer, the AMAZING shop dog and official mascot of Gotham City Limit. He's the sweetest, the best greeter, and the best browsing buddy. Who doesn't want to shop with a good boy by your side? If you don't see Ben, you'll definitely hear his greeting from somewhere in the store as that man is just nonstop. Ben's dedication shows, especially on Free Comic Book Day and special release days, when Gotham City Limit turns into a full-blown celebration. On top of that, he partners with Jacksonville Public Library when they host comic-centered events and you'll see him at different conventions throughout the year. Ben makes sure everyone, from kids to hardcore collectors, feels welcome and included. Also big love to Jonathan (one of the OGs of comic shops in Jax) and Santana, who are always ready to talk storylines, their newest recommendations, or help you find the one issue that you didn't know you were missing. My pull list will ebb and flow depending on what is being released or if I want single issues of something. However, the numero uno items that I always want to see are the latest Baby Marvel covers from Skottie Young. The team has my account tagged for those specifically, and that kind of attention to detail is incredible. It's the kind of personal touch that makes you feel truly seen as a collector and fan. Gotham City Limit is a little slice of geeky heaven in Jax and one of the last remaining locally owned comic shops in this area of town. He went through all my items with me there and scanned them in his app to check the values and product demand. It was cool to see certain high-value items. He asked if I had a price in mind, and I let him know I wasn't familiar with my items to know. He gave me a number that I think was reasonable, and he cut me a check. I didn't get a chance to look around fully, but there were some pretty cool items sitting out. Super cool place and (I assume) owner. Definitely a place to come check out again!
