The latest visit was this past weekend for a later lunch after ValleyFair. Both of my boys were very excited when I told them we were getting pho for lunch instead of theme park food. I'm sure we will be making more stops here for lunch this summer since our family has season passes to ValleyFair. The service was fast and the staff were friendly & attentive. We were happy to get our food pretty quickly since we were all very hungry when we arrived. The pho broth was delicious! My kids shared the meatballs pho while I had the pho with tripe & tendons. We also got an order of the spring rolls - it was good overall, a little bit on the dry side. Recommend checking out this restaurant if you are looking for some good Vietnamese food in Shakopee area.

The restaurant was a little hole in the wall - outdated decoration, older furniture; but I was still excited to try. Service was nice and our meal came out quickly. We had the Vietnamese iced coffee and it hit the spot! It was delicious. We tried their fresh spring rolls and it was refreshing. Unfortunately, the peanut sauce was a bit bland and not very flavorful. My husband and I both had the pho with meatballs, tendon, tripe, and meat. The pho looked amazing and the broth was aromatic...I was super excited. I've had some of the best pho around the cities and sadly, this place doesn't quite compare. I was quite disappointed as I was really craving for a good bowl of pho. We won't be coming here again and unfortunately, wouldn't recommend it.

A big group of 10, I was a bit worried that we might be cutting a bit close to closing time but the staff didn't seem to mind at all. In fact, they were very pleasant, nice, and sociable. One was even nice enough to provide a complimentary rice soup for my aunt who couldn't eat anything this late from the menu due to a health conditions. Similar staff chatted up my younger cousin and went out of his way to make a fruit smoothie for him. This wonderful experience is what makes dishes so much better--the vibes, the hospitality, and the environment are all enhancers. With that, the broth was very delicious and hearty. Good amount of toppings. Could use a little more noodles. Also had the spicy basil wing which were well seasoned and nicely coated and crispy. Be sure to check out this location for great drinks and Vietnamese cuisine.

Hands down some of the best Vietnamese food I've had in the area! 5/5 easily Food: we ordered the tofu pho and beef & meatball pho. The tofu pho broth was so delicious and authentic (compared to other vegetarian pho places with broccoli and carrots). Provided adequate toppings and chili paste. Cream cheese wontons were so crispy! Large size and quality tasted fresh. The cream inside was melty and creamy. Lots of vegetarian options, which I love! Service: Super quick and friendly service. Drinks took a while, but tasted so fresh we didn't mind. Ambiance: Lots of open seating and clean. Well decorated and cute vibes for a girls dinner or date night. Came at noon on a week day and had plenty of seating for large groups of ppl. Parking: Ample parking spaces! Large parking lot in the front and back of restaurant.

On our first visit, I tried the Hunan Triple Delight, which features a trifecta of beef, chicken, and shrimp with delightfully crunchy and flavorful vegetables in a spicy but savory brown sauce. My partner got the General Tso's Chicken which I was kinda jealous of on account of it being the best General Tso's I've ever tasted. The chicken was tender and delicately fried, but with enough crunch to hold up to the sauce which had just the right amount of heat and zest. Today on our visit we had the Szechuan Beef and Pineapple Chicken, both with fried rice. I cannot describe to you how delicious it is. The decor reminds me a lot of old Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants in my California hometown which is oddly comforting. It really is unbelievable how much impressive food exists within such an unassuming-looking restaurant! Bottom line is, China House Cafe presents their dishes without frills, and they don't need it. The flavor speaks volumes for itself! If you're in the area--or even if you're an hour away--this place is absolutely worth a visit. :)

My mom placed an online order to be picked up at 6:46. We arrived closer to 7 and my boyfriend stated the name of our order and waited 10 minutes. He told the host our order name again and she acted like she had no idea what he was talking about. They didn't have our order that we had confirmation for and instead of working on our order, we had to wait for 40 minutes for our dinner. We ordered this food to make our lives easier for baking and cleaning tonight for thanksgiving prep and instead it put us behind. They offered an extra order of pho and in the end didn't give it to us because whoever was in the back said no. The food was not the quality it usually is either. The wontons were very chewy, the rice flour cake was a messy and burnt a bit, and the pad Thai leaked in the bag and spilled over everything else. There was nearly a cup of watery sauce in the bag. This was a disappointing experience and I'm not sure I'll be back after this. This is some of the worst customer service I've experienced.

When we walked in, a young man greeted us from across the restaurant and asked if we were dining in. I said yes, and he told us to sit anywhere we liked. After we sat down, he brought over the menus and immediately asked if we were ready to order. I smiled and let him know we needed a little time since we had never been there before. We looked through the menu and decided to start with the chicken skewer and the crab rangoon. Both were delicious and full of flavor. For our meals, I ordered the chicken banh mi and my wife ordered the Bun Bo Hue. She loved her dish and I really enjoyed my sandwich. They also serve freshly squeezed lemonade, which was excellent. I actually ended up ordering two because it was that good. Service was pretty lackluster. The kid helping us looked like he might not even be in high school yet, so that might explain some of it. The restaurant itself is small and simple inside. Nothing amazing but nothing bad either. Overall, the visit was good. The service wasn't great, but the food made up for it. We would consider coming back if we happen to be in the area.
