I was on a catering job about a year and a half ago, it was a hot summer day, at least 100 degrees outside. 3 young men and myself age 55 were asked to move some out door furniture inside. We had just put on our full outfit for the night clothed from head to toe and were called outside.I grabbed 4 folding chairs and walked them about 100 feet. When I got to the doors where I was asked to take them to, A man who was not in charge of me or that I had ever seen before, told me to take them back to another location outside around the building into a stall. When I asked if I could just take them inside to the location he of course said no. I was dripping with sweat, red as a beet and huffing and puffing for breath. This man started saying things like who are you, where are you from, who are you with , I think your lazy , you don' t belong here, I think you should go home, you have a bad attitude. No one said anything to stand up for me so I stood up for myself! Moving furniture wasn't my job but I did what I had to. I was one of the caterers. The man said I own this place and you need to leave! He married into the business, so he has no bedside manor. I left that day, I'm sure the bride still paid for my services even though I was asked to leave. I think if it wasn't me it would have been someone else that day . This man was on his high horse. I hope his wife reads this because he is mean to women and he shouldn't be allowed to work with the public. He should be grateful for this job! I also lost my job that day, that was my last catering job. read more
