Last night was the third time I attended Harvest Nights. This was the first time I arrived before it was dark so it was less spooky and a bit more wholesome in the daylight. We arrived at 7 and stayed until about 9 pm to experience everything lit up after dark. When you arrive, you're surrounded by stacks of pumpkins in every size, shape, color and type imaginable. Beautiful Fall arrangements are everywhere you look. The Fungi Forest was something new I haven't seen before. Very cool! I felt a bit like Alice in Wonderland encompassed by giant mushrooms towering above illuminated by strategically placed neon lights. One of the highlights of the event was the Cutwater Lounge--a 21+ space upstairs in the Lily House transformed into "Mischief Manor" only for Harvest Nights. The bartender told me this was the first year having this feature. We had a flight of the Cutwater alcoholic beverages that included a snack mix of tasty treats. The Mule and Espresso Martini were our favs with the margarita coming in 3rd. Cutwater's take on the Lemon Drop (which is a drink I typically enjoy) was strong yet tasted a bit watered down. The adult only experience wasn't very well marked (it's upstairs) and signage in general--starting at the parking lot entrance--needs improvement. I'm not sure we would have known about the adult area had it not been for the nice lady who sold us some yummy sweet potato fries with sage and bourbon maple dip. The Spider Stomp, Ghost Train and light show projected onto the Lily House all add to the overall experience. The seasonal food and drink options are great albeit a bit pricey. Passed on the $12 Bavarian pretzel but had to try Elysian Pumpkin Ale and wanted to try the cider but $14 was a little steep. It's not necessary to spend $20 for premium parking that they pressure you to purchase when you first pull into the lot. I recommend getting there early and wearing some of your best walking shoes. It's a cashless campus so good to keep that in mind. Love Newfields and can't wait for Winterlights in a couple months!

There were tons of decorated pumpkins throughout Newfields. There is a food/drink garden area in the middle with benches to take a break if you want. We ordered the Marsh & Mallow Spooky Campfire Cocoa (spiked hot cocoa) and we all liked it and was comforting on this chilly night. The Lily house had a long line but we enjoyed going in and seeing all the spooky details inside.

With Butter just a week ago, I think we can all agree there are plenty out there. - where were the free water stations? You're putting people in an outdoor venue on hot summer day and no free refillable water stations? Cmon, it's 2022 lol - more shaded seating would have been nice too! Now that the tips are outta the way, this was a super fun event and I will def be back in the future. The art was mostly too pricy for me but then again, I'm not an art dealer that can afford $$$$ on art. I loved the variety of jewelry, glassware, paintings, photography, and more.

And everyone, including us, appeared to be enjoying the band. The Flying Cupcake was on site as well as several other food vendors. The Boy Scouts were doing well selling sandwiches for their troop. This of course is a smaller festival than Penrod and others but with a nice variety of product for sale and less expensive here than same product at other festivals. The rain had put a damper on the festival but the rain let up after an hour or so. Several vendors threw in the towel but the real troopers hung in there since we and many other shoppers didn't let the rain stop us. The vendors who remained open were busy and sold items along with marketing their business. I came home with several things I was very tickled to pick up while disappointed that one of the vendors I originally came for had given up and closed her tent for the day. Regardless, we had a great time and enjoyed talking to Jim Spilman of Slinky and Maggie's Homemade Dog Treats. This was the second time we crossed paths and we have purchased each time. His gluten free, all natural dog treats are popular with both our dogs. My little one has a tendency to turn up his nose if cookies are crunchy or flavorless. Both dogs love his cookies. They're very good with pasteurized versus non-pasteurized options, different meats, cheeses, honey, and nuts. I have no idea what she paid for them because she would not let me help pay, but they were all very good. We also had some of the honey buns and French bread that came with us. The creamery / dairy is such a cool addition to the whole experience. They make their own ice cream and various cheeses. They offered them on a cheese charcuterie board for an appetizer. The place sits on a large and very pretty plot of property. The cows are adorable and they have my favorite cows - the cute and sweet brown Swiss and Jersey breeds. The restaurant is vast and the atmosphere is comfy and rustic. The food was great and everyone seemed to enjoy it. It was all well prepared. We tried the fish, burger, mac and cheese and scallops pasta dish. I had a filet steak and it was wonderful. The staff were very knowledgeable and so helpful and friendly. They have a gift shop and sell many cool handmade items like lotions, soaps and food. If I am ever back in this area, I will absolutely come back.

Love the street festivals and that there always seems to be a reason to celebrate something. Love the free parking. Sometimes a bit hard to find, but even if you have to park a bit further down the road, you will enjoy the walk to your destination. So much to see, shops, gardens, old buildings, nice people and it's all just so relaxing somehow. I know this review probably makes no sense, but you'll get it once you visit.

Zionsville, Indiana is a comfortable town just Northwest of Indianapolis. It's a growing town,…read morethough I'd say most folks consider the "downtown" area of Zionsville to be the heart of the community with Main Street having some great shops and restaurants. Strangely enough, for those who know of my Tenderness Tour events I've actually only wheeled through Zionsville once. I stayed at the beautiful Brick Street Inn (which I highly recommend), though I will admit I found the cobblestone around it a bit obnoxious. The mayor is John Stehr as of 2024. Many from Central Indiana will know Stehr as a longtime anchor at WTHR. Zionsville actually goes all the way out to US 421 - a definite part of the town that feels less like "town" and more like city. The population waas just under 31,000 in 2020, a significant boost from 14,000 in 2010. Zionsville is definitely considered a more affluent community, and I definitely sometimes get that vibe when I visit. It's not obnoxious, but I was in Zionsville recently and kind of felt the "We don't allow Kias in our town" vibe. The schools in Zionsville are among the state's best. What do I enjoy doing in Zionsville? Hitting Brick Street is a must. Starkey Nature Park is a terrific visit. Sullivan Munce Cultural Center is a great stop. My Sugar Pie is a definite winner. The Carpenter Nature Preserve is getting ready to officially open just next week. Main Street parking is free. I wouldn't quite call it plentiful, however, for most days it's fine. For festivals, you may have to look around a bit. Oh, and as an avid trail user I'd definitely recommend the Big 4 Trail that goes through Zionsville. As an older town that leans into that vibe, I'll acknowledge there are some definite accessibility issues here including businesses with steps and the cobblestone paths around Brick Street. However, I still can't possibly go less than a 4-star review for this lovely little town.

Tarte Flambé, beef bourgeon, fresh Cafe Du Mont beignets, ratatouille, and so much more! They have live music and lots of local venders as well as a bake sale. They have lots of volunteers from the church and school that do a great job of putting this event on. They offer tours of the gorgeous Roman Catholic Church during the event. They offer mass in French also. This is a great festival that if you haven't been you should put on a beret and head over to it.
