Steve and his team at Garden Rhythms did a spectacular job of completely changing the look of our home with an incredible landscape redesign. We presented Steve with our design. During the initial consultation referencing our design, he paid attention to details of the property such the soil, sunlight, shaded areas, and more. Steve has an incredible and unique vision for landscapes and elevated our design into an amazing landscape. His team are skilled in various aspects of landscape. The team showed up on time, worked hard and were always respectful of our property and neighbors. Even my neighbors were impressed/complimentary toward the team being courteous. The property was cleaned up at the end of each day, and everything was tucked away. Between the team and Steve, we were always kept informed of the project progression. I'm still in awe of how beautiful the landscape look. Truly an amazing presentation! If you are looking for a succulent or drought-tolerant landscape and a professional who is honest, fair, and an all-around individual who is pleasant to work with, I HIGHLY recommend Garden Rhythms. Steve's artistic vision, plant/tree knowledge, and his compassion provided an assurance we were in good hands. FIVE stars without hesitation!!!

Some things I wish I knew then that I know now might help others when planning their yards. Yes, Smart Landscape does a lovely job. Here's what would have made my upkeep a lot easier. 1. Extra protection ground cover to eliminate weeds. Some yards get no weeds because a super heavy cover has been used. I've spent countless hours pulling weeds since yards were done. 2. Go over what plants are going to be used. If I'd done that, I would've saved money and work to remove those that had needles that made it difficult/dangerous to remove. 3. If the designer had visited front yard, he would have seen the slight slope and the DG pathway would not have been a logical design choice. Rain washes it away and I'll have to eventually figure out a way to close up that space. 4. At that time, I didn't meet with the designer. I should have. Although it's a lovely design, I would have pointed out a change or two I'd have preferred. 5. Gray DG is not readily available and it has been difficult to keep the pathway refreshed. Someone said that he was going to provide it, but never did. Overall, I am glad I hired Smart Landscape. UPDATE: I needed to come back to add another star after carefully considering how wonderful Danny and his team are to work with. I had met with no fewer than nine landscape companies before Smart Landscape and they were nightmares for various reasons. Danny is wonderful to work with and makes sure the customer is happy.

We installed a french drain behind our retaining wall, driveway paver installation, the crew built and installed stairs in two parts of the yard, stucco work and final planting and mulch of our entire property. Our in-person consultations and design confirmation schedule were very helpful from week to week. The work timeline was on schedule. The main crew; Ishmael, Jorge and Carlos were professional, hard working and punctual. Everything was properly managed, including the demo, removal of yard waste and final clean up. Thank you!

What started as a patio tile removal turned into a much bigger job than anticipated, requiring several days of jackhammering to remove the existing material. The team also removed our old turf and dug down about 7 inches to properly prepare the area for the new installation. They installed the necessary base, DG, gopher wire, and weed control, taking the time to do everything correctly. The new turf is excellent quality, and we are extremely happy with how beautiful and natural it looks. The new pavers were installed perfectly and look absolutely gorgeous! We truly appreciate the hard work, attention to detail, and professionalism of everyone at Beyond Remodeling. A special thank-you to Omri for overseeing the project and making sure everything was done right. All the positive reviews of Janet are spot on - she is so easy to work with and brilliant and artistic. It takes a few months to get to the top of her work queue, but she is super organized, and has excellent work process. Her crew is also great. We wanted more drought resistant plants that still looked beautiful and not like weeds, to replace our lawn. She sat down with us, showed us a ton of pictures of plants so we could say: love, hate, indifferent. And she really got to understand our taste. The project is now finished (just in time for San Diego to shut down) and we are getting constant compliments from our neighbors. It's just so beautiful and more environmentally friendly. If you're thinking of using Janet, it's an absolute no-brainer - she is so lovely and was flexible even when we decided to make tweaks mid process.
