She has knowledge in multiple areas that make her well equipped to address the project holistically rather than just address part of it. We had a project that required knowledge in drainage, grading, plants, and cement work. She was able to meet our needs for all of them flawlessly. 2. Her communication is clear, timely, and thorough. Throughout the entire project I always knew what to expect from her team, what they needed from me and when, and how much/when the payments were due. 3. She is very reasonably priced, especially given her combination of skills and the quality of her team members. Janet is amazing!! Even if people are not planning to start yardwork during the COVID crisis, I'm taking a moment to leave this here for people to see in the future. All the positive reviews of Janet are spot on - she is so easy to work with and brilliant and artistic. It takes a few months to get to the top of her work queue, but she is super organized, and has excellent work process. Her crew is also great. We wanted more drought resistant plants that still looked beautiful and not like weeds, to replace our lawn. She sat down with us, showed us a ton of pictures of plants so we could say: love, hate, indifferent. And she really got to understand our taste. The project is now finished (just in time for San Diego to shut down) and we are getting constant compliments from our neighbors. It's just so beautiful and more environmentally friendly. Our job involved completely revamping irrigation in some areas and creating new spaces where the mature vegetation had outgrown its setting. On time, on budget, outstanding result. Janet and her team just completed a complete renovation of our yard as part of a remodel project on an existing home. I also used her and Belle Terre when we purchased another new home about 8 years ago. We investigated many companies before choosing Belle Terre and from both a cost and quality perspective we've never been disappointed. On both occasions we had a excellent experience from start to finish. This time around the existing yard was 10 years old and sad; now it's fantastic with a tropical oasis in the backyard build around an existing resort style swimming pool. Given that I worked with over 20 tradespeople as part of this remodel I can tell you with confidence you will not find anyone that delivers higher quality nor will you find a contractor more competent and honest than Janet. At first Janet was great in replying to my email regarding our yard redo and also our HOA landscaping that needing updating, so was not a waste of time kind of job. She came, took notes and said she would get back to me with quotes and come back on her own time to take more photos etc. 5 months went by and we heard nothing. Unique designs and efficient planning - two major things Janet delivers with Belle Terre Landscape. She was flexible and informative, working with us to achieve a low maintenance, low water succulent landscape design. I can't rave about it enough. No one on our mile long block has anything like it. She delivered when we said we wanted color and fragrance. She was flexible when at the last moment we changed our minds about certain plants. Belle Terre started with the drains and sprinkler system, upgrading the drains and replaced sprinklers with a drip system. Plants were put in with special mixes for each. Janet then did a walk through with me of the plants with written explanations of what to expect, when to trim, fertilize etc. Her man Martin did the same with my husband and the sprinkler and lighting systems. Best of all Belle Terre does not over plant and leave. The company continues to check back to make sure each plant is getting sufficient water, sun, etc. They check back for weeks (months?) to make sure nothing in our landscape design fails. Oh joy. We love to entertain in our backyard, and Janet helped us create something we looked forward enjoying day after day. Belle Terre put in our landscaping along with some of our neighbors when our houses were built in 1999. Thirteen years later, the houses that Janet and her team did still look great. The walls and concrete don't have cracks, the plants have grown in nicely even in terrible clay/rock soil, and we haven't had any problems with the irrigation system due to poor quality installation. The homeowner still has to take care of the yard to keep it looking nice, of course, but Janet gave us and our neighbors a good foundation to start with. What great customer service! Murphy's law... 2 hours before our home was closing escrow and we were trying to move out, a sprinkler valve decides to go bad and flood our side yard. I found Belle Terre on Yelp and gave them a call. Janet answered the phone and could hear the desperation in my voice. Long story short, they came out that day to diagnose the problem and the following morning to repair. Charged a very fair price, did not take advantage of our situation at all! After interviewing four landscape companies, my husband and I decided to choose Belle Terre because of Janet's professionalism and knowledge. From the onset Janet presented creative landscape/hardscape sketched possibilities of our courtyard/front yard area. Just moving here from PA, we were not familiar with native CA plants, so she graciously showed us her lovely landscaped yard with its variety of plants and trees so that we were able to make decisions as to what we'd like to live with in our yard. Also, Janet showed professionalism as the contract was written in detail, reviewed, and revised numerous times before signing it as we changed and added elements such as lighting, plants, and irrigation, etc. to the project. We also appreciated the ease and expediency of communication via email when my husband and I had questions or decided to make changes during the 4 week period, even until the end of the job! Janet, was onsite daily overseeing the job, and we were able to discuss the progress and projected scheduling which provided confidence as to our time frame. I really enjoyed watching Janet place the plants. She has a remarkable eye and feel for their growth, color, and positioning!! After completion of the project, Martin, Janet's manager, spent over an hour explaining in detail how to operate the irrigation/timing system. He is also going to check out the plants and change the irrigation timer as needed when the plants are established during this next month. I must also add that Belle Terre's hardworking men were extremely polite and respectful and cleaned up at the end of each day. During Janet's final lengthly walk through, she provided us with plant sheets describing each plant and its care while she pointed them out, giving us extra tips like azaleas enjoy coffee grinds.
