Home-made goodness at its best. Most everything is made in house and you can taste it! Chicken is cooked to order and is fresh, sauce is in house, bread is in house ect ect. Decor is a bit old and we had to move across the restaurant because our initials eating choice was right next to the kitchen door which wasn't an issue- the issue was a waitress having a loud conversation with 2 others. However- food was excellent, our waitress (who was not part of the issue which the manager addressed well) was great and I will suggest this as a quality Italian home-made experience. read more

Went here expecting a halfway decent Italian restaurant. I ordered the beef tips and penne with red sauce. I had a better dining experience in the Marquette branch prison. This place is old school. I remember dropping my brother off at NMU back in the 80's eating here. Unfortunately this place has kind of faded with the times. The garlic bread is pretty good, our entrees were small and very average. We all had a salad which was inedible, basic lettuce, and processed cheese flanked by a horrible "house" dressing, super oily with no taste. I assume this place is cutting costs based on the lack of olive oil for the dressing (tasted like canola oil). The spaghetti sauce was very bland, watery and not hot enough. My wife had some kind of chicken bowl thing which she said had very little chicken and tasted like left overs. The "salad" was just iceberg lettuce and nothing else. The decor was scary red and ancient. This place needs a makeover bad! At one time, my favorite restaurant in Marquette. Have been going there for almost 50 years. Not many restaurants open on the 4th of July. Basic alcoholic drinks available in restaurant, fancier drinks available in bar, but not the same menu in the bar? The garlic bread and salad have always been good. Were that night too, although the bread may have been day old. Sizzler ok, bit chewy. Meatballs good. Problem developed waiting and waiting and waiting for our check They were moderately busy, but seemed to have enough staff. Once I am obviously done eating and have finished my beverage, I dislike waiting for the check. We complained, left $1 tip, the manager/family member swore at us using the "f" word and for some reason threaten to call the police (?). NEVER going back there. read more

I have been going to the Villa since it opened! They keep the menu simple and the food consistent. I LOVE the pizza! The lasagna is also a staple and I end up taking a large portion of it home. Some people complain about the garlic bread but those of us who grew up on it go back for it over and over again. read more

I can't believe it's been about 50 years that I've been eating here and never been disappointed with a meal! The first time I ate here, it was after my senior prom. Since then, we have had many delicious celebrations with our family. From being greeted at the entrance by a smiling face, sitting wherever we like, served quickly, water glasses always filled, and enjoying anything from the menu; we always have enough to take home for another delicious meal. Really disappointed on our visit last month. Food was good, but the staff was really unfriendly. It started with who i assume was the manager, seating us. He said we should have called ahead because we had 8 people. Agreed. It was Saturday night about 7:30. The trouble is the place was empty. Perhaps he was kidding but i think people smile when they're kidding, he didn't. When the waitress came to the table i said i suppose you were going home soon? She said yep, no smile and was clearly irritated. The pizza was good, the garlic bread was good, the service was decent, probably no one really wanted to be there. the worst meal i have ever had in my 70 years!! ordered a lasagna dinner and after we waited ten to 15 minutes for our garlic bread was told my lasagna just came up too. the lasagna had no meat sauce at all in it and very very little pasta i.e. almost none. soaked up the oval plate of liquid cheese they called lasagna with garlic bread i.e. so hungry i was from 7 hour drive and hike too. after complaining thrice at start, middle, and end of eating to waitress i paid and went to front take out window inside front of restaurant & asked to see manager. i could see into the kitchen three waitress's doing things, a 18 year old female answered the take out window and the manager elderly female manager putting meals together. but i saw no one who looked nor dressed like a cook! after complaining to manager i exited hoping i don't get the runs because it was merely a liquid fondue i consumed. i believe when i asked for my garlic bread the waitress poured the liquid cheese onto a plate and served it to me herself. read more

Best Sizzling Shrimp ever, wife loved the Lasagna and daughter ate most of her spaghetti and meatballs that never happens! Not good. When you think Italian, you think real authentic Italian food, but this food tastes like it's out of a can. Tomato sauce was bland and tasted like salsa from a jar mixed with tomato paste. Bread was very buttery and greasy and not fully cooked. Soda refills cost $2...who does that?! Pizza was tasteless and soggy. We were seated in folding chairs that were very uncomfortable, especially for taller people. Decor was tacky and odd...hopefully red is your favorite color. The menu options as well as the decor were old and dated Didn't even have expected favorites like fettuccine alfredo or veal/chicken parm. I was disappointed. The salad was simply iceberg lettuce drenched in dressing. I ordered a steak as well as the Gnocchi with half meat sauce and half cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was OK but too salty and the meat sauce tasted like sloppy joe mix. Overall, I think of the TV show Restaurant Impossible when I go to a place like this. They don't pay attention to the small things and it diminishes the quality of the experience. For example, the water glasses are so small that, if you drink water, you need a refill every few minutes. And the garlic bread tastes like it's purchased frozen and then soaked in butter. I also don't recommend sitting in the back room (Fontana) because the ice machine makes a lot of noise. I gave Villa Capri two stars because the steak was pretty decent. The place has been open a long time, and that surprises me based on what I saw. read more

I visit this place every time I come home to visit. The lasagne is the best and you can't beat the garlic bread. They have decent wine to pair with your pasta and traditional dishes that are always good. Definately worth the visit! read more

Stay away from this wanna-be Italian Restaurant. It is far from Italian cooking and the decor has not been changed since early 1970's. Not only is to food terrible in reference to "You better have a restroom nearby within 15-minutes from eating there," but when drinking a soda with your meal, they charge extra for a refill. Inexperienced waitstaff and an owner that has a loudmouth after he drinks too much in his own bar and then tries to take over the karaoke in the bar getting belligerent on the microphone at his own customers. It was enough to make us walk out of the establishment never to return or recommend this place. If you're looking for a nicer place to eat in Marquette with better Italian food, try the Casa Calabria on Third St. I only gave the Villa Capri one star because it won't allow less of a rating. read more

We recently visited the Villa after many years of going to the Casa. We always go to the Casa while in from out of town! The staff was fantastic but the food was ok! Better than the last time we were at the Villa but just ok! The garlic bread tasted blah! Lasagna was average! The steak was good according to others! I agree with others that the dining room needs an update! Oh and charging for refills is ridiculous! Over all the visit was good because of the great staff, dinner guests and memories from the past! When I first walked out of the car and smelled the grease traps I knew I was in for a surprise! The waiting room is nicer than the restaurant even though there is never a wait! The interior has not been changed in 40 years along with the pizza sauce. We order 2 pizzas each for about 20 dollars and could have found better pizza under a heat lamp. We were very disappointed with the fact there is no free refills. DO NOT EAT AT VILLA CAPRIS GO TO THE PIZZA HUT. The food at Pizza Hut is more authentic Italian food. read more

I am from out of town visiting the area. My wife is vegetarian so we decided to dine in this place. I ordered a chicken cacciatore and my wife ordered stuffed shell. I was expecting traditional cacciatore I.e pieces of chicken cooked tomato sauce with vegetables what I got was a boiled piece of chicken and tomato sauce over it with some spaghetti on side. I was just so disappointed. How can anybody call this bad dish chicken cacciatore . The bread was soaked in butter. I told the waitress about how disappointed with the meal. As one of the many Italian restaurants in the area, it's not particularly impressive. The prices are okay, but the food tends to look and taste like it was bought-in and just put together (not much of it made in-house). The dark red interior and décor is dated and feels old. Pizza harder than a cracker. Wait staff kind but afraid of the elderly woman (who is cheap and would not remove the pizza from my tab). The elderly woman stated " everyone loves our pizza" and that the description states " thin crisp, and flakey". WTH...I guess bad food is the customer's fault. Never again.
