This hotel has amazing decor and has amazing location, being right across from the tram station and Tivoli. We were able to just cross the street and get checked in. I am docking 1 star because of their communication pre checking in. I called to see if I could check in at 12pm because my travel partners and I have gone more than a day without sleep and would have been fine if we couldn't have. They said that it would be possible. However, this was not the case. We arrived at 12 and was told probably by 1pm. I called at 1pm and they said for sure in 20 minutes. So, we came back at 1:30 and asked again if our room is ready. They said no again and told us they can get one ready in 10 and will come get us. We waited in the lobby for another 40 minutes until 2:30 in which I asked the front desk and they said it's been ready. Beside the check in process, our stay was fantastic. Their breakfast buffet is incredible although you have to reserve a time slot which is a little odd. Same with the pool that you can only reserve 45 min a day. The decor is amazing, although one thing is that the window didn't close all the way and we could hear the amusement park pretty loudly at night.

Beautiful and luxurious hotel to stay at. Great services offered. Loved the sourdough bread with carrot butter and luxurious olive oil. Great coffee and drink options available. Courtyard area is nice and great to get work done.

An amazing staff, location, and hotel wrapped up in an adorable price. This has been by far the greatest hotel experience I've had (booking through Amex Fine Hotels portal). My experience included $100 dining credit, free breakfast for 2, and room upgrades (when available) through the Amex booking portal, so take that into consideration. Food- Coming from America, you can immediately tell the elevated quality of food in Denmark. Villa Copenhagen builds on top of the improved taste and creates a delicious breakfast and dinner experience. Breakfast- From 6:30am-10am, you're welcomed into Villa Copenhagens downstairs dining hall for breakfast. There are 3 main food stations: cold section, hot section, and baked goods. The cold section includes yogurts, overnight oats, fruits, cheeses, cold cut meets, and more. The hot section is where you get chicken sausages, bacon, scrambled or soft boiled eggs, pancakes, and more. Lastly, the baked section has delicious fresh baked breads and pastries. These options felt like a higher end dining experience and were top of my dining experience at Copenhagen. Dinner- There are two main dining options for diner (that I was aware of) both including amazing options. I opted for the vegetarian burger with fries and my girlfriend got the adult sized beef pasta. Both servings were around ~230 DKK (~$33 USD) each, so on the pricier side comparing to American prices, but the improved food quality and tastes were clearly noticeable. Unsure if I would dine here without the available credit, but I know I wouldn't regret my meal if I did. Overall, a positive dining experience. Location- For a traditional tourist, this location cannot be beat. It is across the highly efficient and easy to use public transportation system that Copenhagen uses. This made the arrival from the airport cheaper and stress free. Additionally, this allows for far more accessibility to the rest of the city from your hotel. And Tivoli, Copenhagen's grand amusement park, was on the corner across the hotel as well. I highly recommend a quick visit to Tivoli on your first night at Villa Copenhagen for some fun and a quick retreat to your nearby hotel afterwards. Lastly, the Staff- Hands down, the friendliest and most accommodating staff I have interacted with during any hotel experience. From my initial 3 night stay, the staff ensured my check in process was easy and seamless. I had no issues during my stay whatsoever but was reminded that the staff would help me with whatever request I had. For my anecdotal nightmare experience of having our flight canceled by a winter storm (Storm Pia)- Our flight was delayed a day, so we required an overnight stay in Copenhagen. Of course we directed ourselves right back to Villa Copenhagen, but an error on the Amex travel portal booked my dates incorrectly. I was fortunate that the Amex travel team was able to work closely with the staff and management to amend my non-modifiable booking. In the end, the staff of Villa Copenhagen was able to get my booking accommodations corrected and give me a place to overnight for the new flight timeline. A HUGE shoutout goes to Marcos and Fredrick of Villa Copenhagen for helping out with the accommodations. Top tier people and kindhearted personalities.

An amazing hotel in central Copenhagen. Firstly, the location is fantastic. It is convenient to everything! It is virtually across the street from the wonderful Tivoli Gardens and the Metro and Train Station is across the road too! I pretty much walked everywhere from here. The museums were a few blocks away and restaurants line the street around the corner. The building is historical. It is the Central Post & Telegraph Head Office dating back to 1912. It is beautiful renovated and unassumingly huge. The lobby is modern and attractive. There a few options to dine, with a bar within the lobby allowing you to enjoy late night cocktails in the relaxed courtyard. The best part- the breakfast! This is probably one of the best hotel breakfasts in Europe! It's pricey at about $37 per head, but luckily for me my credit card pays for it! The bakery items are freshly baked and they have a gourmet chef that is in charge of the many staff preparing and serving the food. There is an omelette bar and Danish style pancakes . Many breads and cheeses. Fresh fruit and a charcuterie choice of cold cuts, fruits and more. The juice is fresh- the pineapple, ginger and lemon juice was refreshing. There is a wide variety of pastries and I got to try the famous Danish cardamom pastry. Omg was this fantastic. I got talking to a fellow British who is a baker there and he told me all about how detailed the chef is. No wonder it's perfect! This breakfast alone is a reason to stay here - although you can dine here if not staying here too. The room was lovely. The bed was amazing and oh so comfortable. The bathroom was a classic clean-cut Scandinavian design. I received a personal delivery of a welcome gift- pine scented lotion. This stuff is wonderful and lotion is much needed in the colder climate. I didn't bring any lotion so this was the perfect gift for me! The only slight negative- but only a mild one. The pool is not warm enough for it to be comfortable. It's outdoors and perhaps they are unable to heat it more? There are no slippers provided and you have to walk across slippery grounds in the cold 32 degree F December day. I brought my own slippers and I was still slipping. The sauna is nice but not large enough for me to be comfortable with the several people in there. It's for both men and women and just enough space to find a spot to sit. No lying down in here! The pool and sauna amenities are extra so this doesn't deter from how fabulous this hotel is. This hotel is just fantastic and I highly recommend staying here.

This hotel was amazing! What a great vibe, friendly staff, clean rooms and amazing breakfast. I can't say enough good things. Across the street from the train but still so quiet.

Negatives: lift not operational for part of our stay (but they did haul our luggage up to the 4th floor and offered free drinks to all until it was repaired), some wear in our room and our fridge door wouldn't shut fully, our room lock stopped working (didn't realize it was unlocked all day while away -although afterwards they did leave an employee outside our room so we could leave AND left us some gifts for the trouble). From the quaint, secluded entrance (which looks like it is on an alleyway but it was an actual street!) to the plant-filled, cozy courtyard to the room to the common areas, I was so impressed with this historic yet contemporary property! It was our first night in Europe, and to say we were jetlagged from our eight-hour transoceanic flight is putting it mildly. But as soon as my head hit the pillow on the comfortable bed I was off to la-la land! And the breakfasts! Oh the breakfasts! Absolute best and most elaborate and varied breakfast of the trip! I have never before or since seen such an assortment of foods and beverages, including cereals, hot foods, salads (yes, salads!), cheeses, meats, breads, pastries, you name it! And the coffee was divine! You got your own pot at your table. And the service was extremely attentive and friendly. Also they had a free happy hour from 4 to 6 with wines, beers, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages that was just divine. They even helped us find free surface parking, next to impossible in downtown Kobenhavn! They also recommended a great restaurant district only a block or two walking distance away! The staff also spoke impeccable English and were quick with a smile or to answer any questions you had. The only slight complaint was how small the guest room (and especially bathroom therein) was, and the fact that there were some stairs and a pretty tiny elevator, but only by US standards as I later learned. You have to realize these cities and many of the buildings in them are hundreds of years old! In summary, to say I'd like to return soon to the Kong Arthur Hotel is putting it mildly!

They give you a code and place it in a locked and video-monitored closet down in the basement. It was easy to do and safe for your belongings. After some exploring, I returned to the hotel around 4 PM and finally checked in. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my single room had been upgraded to a larger room for free. I was stoked to hear that and loved the room and location they gave me. The room was beautifully furnished and was very clean! The only downside is the no AC. The temperature that day was in the low 60s (60-63 degrees). This may sound nice, but it was rather toasty in my room. They had a standing fan that, unfortunately, did not rotate, but it helped somewhat. They give you very heavy-duty duvets that are better for winter weather, but thankfully, I opened some of the windows in my room, which made it more bearable to sleep at night. And a shout out to my yelpie Bridget W. and my trippy Mette for both cluing me onto this veritable hostel paradise! THE SETUP So what happened is on my flight out of Stockholm, Sweden, I ended up with a one (1) day layover in Copenhagen before going on to San Francisco. Now, this was PLANNED - I knew I had the layover: it was either this or pay $400 more for the next least expensive round trip between San Francisco and Stockholm (and back). As it turned out, I was already spending 10 days in the Baltic States with friends, hitting Sweden, Estonia, Russia and Finland. Unfortunately, there was no time in that itinerary to hit Denmark (nor Norway, for that matter, though technically, although also part of "Scandinavia", Norway is not a Baltic state). So an extra stop on the return leg in Copenhagen for a full day presented itself to me and I was happy to take it. DOWNTOWN DISTRICT AND CLOSE TO AIRPORT As soon as I jetted back into Copenhagen Airport (my 2nd time here in addition to my 1st two (2) hour layover in this airport on way to Stockholm), I jumped into the rail-car at the adjacent train station. Not more than 12 mins, I was at the downtown Central Train Station, and only a block and a half from Urban House! URBAN HOUSE It's right on the corner, with the front door in the middle of the block (just a block and a half up from one of the train station's entrances). https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/urban-house-k%C3%B8benhavn-2?select=JZdnyOCkTnIibGTVoHJ-bA&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w The fees are very reasonable: at the time I was making my reservation for the middle of July, it was $35 a night in a dorm room. I pulled the trigger on a SINGLE room with a bathroom for only $94.71/night. Easily just a third of the cost of even the more "moderately" priced hotels in Downtown Copenhagen, near the airport. And most of the time I would be on a walk-a-bout and not in the room anyways, so I didn't want to waste my money there. The room didn't have a TV anyways - entertainment was outside of the room. ENTERTAINMENT! ..and speaking of entertainment, Urban House had a full-on bar / cafe / "Student Union"-feel open area at street level. In fact, the guy serving beers, took a quick break so he could check me in. The gal that was serving breakfast the next day was the one who checked me out: as it turns out, a good consolidation of tasks combined in their multi-talented staff. I ventured out in the afternoon and evening (twice actually) to grab some excellent Thai food back in the Train Station. And then again to a bar a few blocks away that was hosting a Jazz festival. There was plenty to do, places to eat, immerse oneself into the night life, all within blocks of Urban House. No car needed. THE ROOM As mentioned no TV, but that was not missed. There was a desk and chair which was nice since this is where I spent any of my waking-time while in the room. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/urban-house-k%C3%B8benhavn-2?select=NuynCk7VfBPS6-Fn4XhFuQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w The bathroom was a fascinating engineered piece of configuration, especially when it came to the adjacent proximity of the toilet and shower: a good economy of space! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/urban-house-k%C3%B8benhavn-2?select=AJLhvC82t2aCaZBooEwbAw&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w There are never enough pillows wherever I go (hotel, motel, etc.), and unfortunately, this went doubly so for this. It's rare when I have to dip into my travel gear and find a jacket and extra pair of pants and fold/roll them up just so I can get a bit more height on the shallow pillow they give you. It is what it is. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/urban-house-k%C3%B8benhavn-2?select=T9RWvTNb8ZgaFlkcvFW5uw&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w THE LOWDOWN A reasonably affordable stop when touring through Copenhagen. Should I find myself traveling alone in this fair city once more, I totally would consider staying here again.
