While it's listed as a meal for two, the portion sizes were very generous, it could have easily fed three. the flavors were on point, savory, and well-seasoned. I frequented this local spot during the pandemic and it had the best Lomo Saltado. The last 2 times it was not the greatness i knew and loved. Maybe they changed chefs? Lomo Saltado The steak was really tough. The rice was rushed to be made because parts was crunchy/not cooked and other parts was mushy because the water didn't have time to dry out. The flavor of the broth has also changed, heavy on the sherry and garlic. It's just okay now. I guess I'll have to trek back down to Gambrills to my other spot, hopefully they haven't changed too. I just redownloaded Yelp! As I was considering giving this place a go once more. A few months back we went for their happy hour and we noticed one of the employees hit a roach off the wall at the end of our meal and drinks waiting for the check above a table in what I call the hallway to the kitchen. If we didn't see it we wouldn't have known because the place smelt like a over sanitized countertop But you can see it from the side bar where we were sitting. As I do not consume beef or pork food items it's hard to make sure there is something for everyone and they had a few chicken options but were unable to guarantee if any of the beans were cooked with pork prior to being plated. They seemed unsure- I do not know if at the time it was a language barrier or confusion. We ended up having nachos and some alcoholic beverages (cannot remember if it was mixed and beer or just mixed for me). We noticed a few individuals getting a little heated about coupons and them not being valid at the end of their meal while sitting at the bar. The music was extremely loud (we practically had to yell as happy hour came to an end- reminded me of senor frogs noise level on a weekend night). Dress code does not apply but this place definitely has a cozy feel before the sun goes down just unsure about the roach action I witnessed a few months back. read more

We went here for the first time yesterday evening (Monday) and when we arrived the first thing we noticed was the overpowering smell of cleaning products (maybe lysol?) and the loud piped music when we entered the restaurant. The restaurant itself was empty apart from half a dozen customers at the bar. We almost turned and left but decided to give it a shot. Suffice it to say we are very happy we did.........EVERYTHING from the complimentary salsa and chips to the big plate of HH Nachos (with beef and chicken) to the chicken burrito with rice and beans and the shrimp tacos were absolutly DELICIOUS and the service from Roxanna first class A++++. The food from this place is exceptionally well seasoned, and the bar drinks pack a punch. The service is friendly and fast. I've heard they have live entertainment on some nights closer to the weekend but I've never stayed past 10 pm. I ate here a few weeks ago with some friends. The place was empty aside from us. The menu was nothing special, and did not have much to offer especially in the way of Mexican food. I got a steak burrito. The burrito was a good size and it did not fall apart when I cut into it. Those are the only good things I can say about the food. The burrito was filled with unseasoned white rice with some black beans. The steak had no flavour whatsoever. If I hadn't seen the bits of steak in the burrito I would have thought they forgot the meat. All I could taste was the flour tortilla. Minuscule amounts of guacamole and pico de gallo were served on the side. The scoops of which were roughly the size of a small gumball which was enough to put on a single small bite of the massive, bland burrito. My friend ordered the enchiladas and was severely disappointed with their lack of taste. He said the sauce tasted like they just dumped a can of tomato sauce on top and called it good. The drinks were weak and the margarita tasted as if it were a glass of sour mix with the tiniest splash of tequila. The waitress was friendly, but friendly service doesn't season food.... Unless you are on the hunt for unseasoned, bland food and watery drinks I would not consider eating here. read more

They hired a black bartender that was great but let her go and said they "don't like her kind in there" and "don't want it to be a black bar." The food was questionable. It was never consistent. The place has been completely redone (I remember what it used to look like in there) from top to bottom. Everything was clean and we got seated right away. Service: was great. Everyone came together and checked on us as we dined. I believe the owner was there and went table to table to ask and address any concerns. It was refreshing to see an owner or boss, who cares and doesn't mind getting his hands dirty. Food: My bf got the chipotle chicken meal (HIGHLY suggested). I got the appetizer combo as a meal and wasn't happy with the food at all. (Reason for 4 stars). The combo came with flautas, tostadas and chicken quesadilla! Every time I drive by this establishment I hardly see any customer cars. So i decided to stop in one day in October to show my support for a local business. The interior of the building is excellent, the lighting was perfect and i was greeted quickly. How ever after sitting there for about 2 minutes looking over the menu. A strong odor like raw sewage hit my nose and would not go away. I ask the hostess about the smell and she said they were address the issue. Unfortunately I was not able to order anything because the smell would not go away. I hope they get their issue address because i like to support local business owners. read more

This would be a good spot for a quick drink and bite....as long as expectations on the food are low. The menu is fairly limited. The food tasted pretty basic. Nothing too exciting or too horrible. My husband and i tried this place for the first time about a month ago, we were little leary of trying since the parking lot was empty, but i am so thankful we gave it a shot. The bartender was so nice, the owner was even nicer, we only had a beer that evening, however we did return on a Friday for Happy Hour!!!! Margaritas are so good and you cant beat the price, I had the tacos and my husband had the ribs, and it was great!!! Bottom line is i could go on and on about how great this place. Its beautiful inside, its clean, the staff/owner are wonderful, food is fresh and good. If you cant get out for Happy Hour dinner, try the Brunch!!!! Again, just absolutely wonderful!!! read more

Villa Flores was an awesome experience. The atmosphere is high end with a warm and friendly feeling. The food was excellent. I had the braised beef ribs. They were cooked to perfection, tender and extremely flavorful. The service was good also. On another visit I had the chicken tortilla soup that was excellent. It was an amazing balance of meat and vegetables in the soup. It was garnished with fresh avocado, cilantro and tortilla strips. I can say it was the best chicken tortilla soup I ever had. This was my first experience with the restaurant. We got seated at 530pm. They had a short menu so we place our order right away. They informed us that is was going to be wait time not too long. One hour later our food was given to another table. And the manager came and apologized and promise the food was going to be out momentarily. 7pm our food came out and it was cold and the fajita tray were cold we were expecting steamy just like everyone else was coming out. In too occasion there was a hair in our food. We notify the waitress and she just took it back with no apologies. The food was not well seasoned. The only good thing was the pupusas. I had the seafood soup and I have to say this was the richest and most flavorful dish I have had in a long time. It had mussels, clams, scallops, blue crab and perfectly cooked fish. This is a newish restaurant of about 3-4 months. Raul the owner greeted us and was very kind and excited to see us. The restaurant was not full. The menu was ok. The menu lacks a particular identity to differentiate itself leaving no real wow factor. Food was fair but enchiladas lacked taste. The quesadillas, salsa and fresh guacamole were amazing. They did not have queso on the menu. Service was fair. I think the restaurant has potential but will not compete with the trusty standbys of the Mi Pueblo restaurants because the food just doesn't compare. We may try again in a few months. Yeah, so I'm going to take a gamble here and say that some of these reviews down below are not from actual customers but rather from the business themselves trying to drum up support. Our first clue was when we went to dinner on Saturday night yesterday and the place was completely empty, and it was completely empty when we left almost an hour later. On a Saturday early evening. The waitress was friendly, the drinks were fine, but it all started to go quickly downhill with the food. The salsa that you get with the chips at the beginning of the meal was nothing more than tomato sauce with maybe a little bit of cilantro for flavoring. It was literally the most pathetic salsa I've ever tasted add any Mexican restaurant. Next we had the Jack Daniels barbecue wings, which were actually pretty decent but they were not spicy by any means as described in the menu. I ordered the Carne Asada With Mexican rice and black beans and my husband ordered tacos Al Carbon with Mexican rice.The carne Asada Was nothing more than a really thin New York strip, overcooked, with white rice and canned mixed vegetables. I wish I would've had the wherewithal to take a picture as it looks nothing like the picture previously posted in their yelp "reviews". Not only did it taste nothing of Mexican spices, but it looks like they even forgot to use salt in any of their food as everything was absolutely bland and flavorless. My husband's tacos, again was flavorless meat, with bland beans as they forgot his "Mexican" rice. I don't know in what universe the food that they served was considered Mexican food. Without sounding racist, this was the whitest Mexican food I've ever had in my entire life and I would be extremely surprised to see if I found one Hispanic working in the kitchen. Bottom line, you'll have a better Mexican food experience at Taco Bell. Save your money and stay away from this place. It seems like the people of Glen Burnie are already aware and us suckers had to learn ourselves coming from another city. read more
