I came to Severna Park Taphouse with a large group of 13 for lunch on a Sunday. They were able to seat us in their ample outdoor seating. The service was great, friendly and fairly fast for such a large group. Unfortunately that was the only good aspect of this. The drinks were served in plastic disposable cups. Very wasteful. If I had known I would've just brought my own reusable water bottle. When the food came, several burgers were cooked incorrectly. I got a veggie and cheese quesadilla and the buffalo cauliflower appetizer. The quesadilla was alright but way too oily. It was basically sopping in oil. The sides of pico and sour cream came in tiny plastic containers and seemed store bought; the sour cream was separated with overly thick cream surrounded by liquid. The cauliflower was supposed to be "flash fried" (whatever that means) but it was honestly terrible. Soggy and mushy and soaked in a super strong buffalo sauce. The other people in the group who ordered burgers commented that their food was dry. This place honestly should be treated as a bar where you'll come to drink their extensive offering of alcohol. The food was pretty terrible and I will not be coming back for it. read more

Detoured here during our B&A Trail outing for a passing storm. If you still to burgers and tacos you'll have a great experience. (Saw a lot of other tables with unfinished food, which made us wary). We got the Buffalo Califlower starter .. not going to win any awards for crispness (like EYC), but we it paired well with Ranch. This is a go to, laid back spot where you can get some quick, easy bites.. The drinks are well made, and the food is good as well. I usually get the crab dip and black and blue burger. I've also had the beyond burger as well, which was good. Service is usually pretty quick, even if it's bus. The atmosphere is very chill as well. read more

We're from out of town and come here with family from the neighborhood every time we visit. This is a local spot with really good food. Ambiance outside is really good. The service has been really good every time. We had one minor issue one time and they more than took care of it. We always appreciate the hospitality at this place shows. I highly recommend. I wasn't very hungry but they had a special of Poutine which is what I went with. It wasn't the best I've had nor the worst. I then thought I needed to eat something healthier and got a side salad. The salad was fresh and had pepper and mushrooms in it which I was pleasantly surprised by. The waitress at the bar was outstanding. I wish I had her energy. She kept everyone's drinks full and was friendly. I don't think she had a moment to rest, but she always had a smile on her face. Overall the crowd was extremely nice and friendly. I was meeting a Meetup group which I couldn't find at first and was treated very kindly by the men at the bar. Very gentlemanly. It was refreshing to see men of all ages with such nice manners. I did finally find my group and enjoyed the band, The Crayfish. It was a lovely evening with a nice breeze. I'll definitely be returning to to the Taphouse again. read more

Been three times now and will certainly come back for future visits and am looking forward to enjoying the rear patio in warmer weather. First off, yes, the burgers are excellent. I'd get one of those first, and then venture further into the menu. Staff is all very friendly and it's just the kind of place you feel home and want to return to. We tried the buffalo cauliflower bites twice. One time they were crispy and covered in buffalo sauce, the other time they were exceedingly greasy and had much less sauce on them. I'm not sure of the correlation but it'll be a while before I try these again, and that'll be sampling one off someone else's platter. There is a great beer selection and it seems to rotate through options a good bit. Also appreciated that you can get a flight of different beers from all the different brewers. Really nice way to sample 4 beers of the same style, by different brewers, and figure out which you like. Salad we got (chicken bbq) was enjoyed, but mostly colorless lettuce (iceburg or the inner ribs of romaine). Otherwise fine, though. Chicken was tender Tried the shrimp quinoa bowl and it was very healthy for a pub, if not a tad flavorless, BUT, if a healthy entree is your interest I'd recommend getting this. There was the quinoa, some veggies, a very generous portion of steamed broccoli and some moderately spicy shrimp. I added S&P and a good bit of hot sauce to this. It was a nice change that something that sounded healthy actually came out that way, but I admit I was jealous of the burgers at our table. Last time I got a burger I sub'd string beans for the fries and felt that was a better healthy eating compromise. LOL Get the burger. read more

Went on "Taco Tuesday" for lunch and it was delightful. Beautiful weather allowed me and my pup to enjoy lunch in the beer garden. Had the grilled chicken burrito and while it was a little on the smaller side, it was delicious. My pup had the "Yappy Meal" and he scarfed down the chicken. Service was disgraceful & yet there were numerous young men who worked there standing in the bar area doing nothing. We were given plastic utensils for dinner but later saw employees folding linen napkins with silverware. I got up & asked if we could get 2 sets & we were given the linen napkins. We sat at the table for approximately 15 more minutes. There were numerous young male employees standing near the bar. We were not offered menus, water, or the courtesy of a welcome. There seemed to be more interest in the bar area. After 15 minutes with absolutely no attention, we left. This service was totally unacceptable & rude! When I left I passed an employee & told him they needed to pay more attention to customers & not let them sit there for 15 minutes with nothing as much as a glass of water. I came here on a Thursday evening and it was a pretty cool taphouse. The ambiance of the outdoor space was nice. A very mixed crowd of families, couples and even a few dogs. The wait staff were friendly but it was a busy evening. I ordered the fried haddock sandwich. The sandwich was a crispy and the side of grilled lemon was a flavorful addition. We were actually planning to dine at another restaurant, but on a whim decided to check out the SP Taphouse on the way. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the menu looked good, the ambience was casual-cozy, and we decided to stay. We had the steak fajitas and a black-and-blue burger, and both were delicious and very generously sized (actually the fajitas platter was more than generous, with enough left over for another full meal). SPT lives up to its Taphouse name, with 35 draft beers to choose from. Our server, Rachel (also a bartender and the beer buyer) expertly and patiently helped Bob select a flight of 4 beers, drawing on her detailed knowledge about each of the options. She listened carefully to Bob's description of his preferences and her suggestions were right on target. Come here if you want to enjoy a Capitals hockey game and a decent burger. There's a great, local feel, and it was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. If you sit in the bar area, you'll need to place your order at the bar but that wasn't much of an encumbrance. We enjoyed our meal and visit and will gladly visit again. read more

What a fun and homey spot! Came here to support Baltimore city firefighters as they were running a special that every draft purchased went towards the city fire department. This just shows how much they partner with their community which is always a win for me! Parking was a little tricky if you are unfamiliar with the area but once inside you are greeted by the loveliest staff and a warm environment! I got the coach burger and it did not disappoint! Our waitress Tory was a dream! Super kind and attentive! The burger was fresh and full of flavor! Not sure why it's only 3.5 stars because this place was a surprise hit! Crab dip was huge, fresh hot bread and great flavor. Haddock sandwich was massive with 4 pieces and great tasting; some of the best I've had. Chipotle burger was very good and all the portions of fries were plenty. Love this local spot! They have a lot of beer choices and the make great mixed drinks. I typically go in there with Pinterest drink recipes and the bartenders are able and willing to make what I want. They change their beer menu up each season. We ordered the Crabby Tots to share. They come with crab dip and melted cheese on top and ranch dip to dip them in. I ordered the Coach Burger without the BBQ sauce. Everything was really good and fresh. In the past we've ordered other things off the menu too, like the nachos, various salads, tacos, and the BLT. The fries and onion rings are my favorite! They have fun events like cornhole events, as well as daily, trivia, comedy nights, and paint nites. We typically go for trivia and comedy night and now they know us by our team name! read more

I always love coming here. They throw themed events with live music, have a beer selection that constantly evolves and changes, and an amazing backyard patio where you can play cornhole (a bean bag throwing, get it in the hole style game). I have been here several times now and have to say that the only food I recommend are the crabby fries. Every thing else is just okay, nothing great. The beer is always awesome though. Service is also just okay. Sometimes they don't come by for a long time, often they get the orders wrong, either by bringing you an entirely different beer than you ordered, or switching your drink with one of you buddies. The waiters often like to pretend they don't need to write down orders, which means they come back, asking you again about what you had ordered. The crowd is a good mix. On St. Patrick's day it was a lot of over 40 couples. Other times I have gone, the patrons ranged from military to general young adults. :) The decorations are pretty typical sports bar inside. There is the main bar area, a dining section, then outside there is a small bar (tvs are outside also), along with lots of patio tables, and a cornhole playing area in the grass. Even though I am not into sports bars, I feel this is the best bar in the whole Glen Burnie/Pasadena/Severna Park area. read more
