Story time: picture a young, Sam C.B. at 15 years old, in a little tuxedo, serving eggplant rollitini at a 300 person installation dinner for the local fire department. The young woman would serve at parties for about 6 months before finding a job within the bookshelves of the Sachem Library. Cut to 25 years later and a whole lifetime has gone by since I've been through this building. But here I am, attending the installation dinner for the local fire department. Talk about full circle moments. This past weekend we celebrated my brother in law being the Chief of his local fire department. I really couldn't be more proud of him. He is the one that coordinated most of the party and did a stellar job. It was nice to see the place had a facelift since I worked here as a teen. The food was delicious as we had a cocktail style menu for the entirety of the evening. My favorite was the mini burgers. A lovely evening was had by all. Sad I couldn't stay for dessert but the dessert hour started at 10pm and we had a long way to go to get back to the kid. I would come back here for an event for sure. read more

my daughter had her quinceanera/sweet 15 Friday 05/22 and the entire event was a success. the staff worked tirelessly to make the night special for my daughter. Pedro was the maitre d' and he was amazing making sure every detail was taken care of and that all guests were satisfied. The location had beautiful areas to take photos at and the food was amazing. my daughter had her room to get ready and to relax in before and after the party. Attended a wedding and overall horrible experience. I have been to several events here and each time it has become worst. Service was horrible, staff lacked professionalism, managers were useless when an issue arose. Food was horrible, and served chicken that was not cooked. I would consider other venues. I'd start by saying this hall gets 4.5 of 5, but that's not an option on yelp. The valet is quick to park. Floors are clean and we'll polished. Everything inside looks well maintained. Happy hour food was average to above average. Passed options, carving stations and buffet stations included. Tuna tartar was a favorite with lamb chops as a close second. This was the first taste of it, but everything needed more salt, from happy hour foods, salads, dinner, etc. I'd rather have less salt than too much, but there were no salt shakers at happy hour. Main dining room course, salad, needed a little salt. Pasta with marinara, needed salt and garlic but fresh basil was a nice touch. Steak, overcooked, brought home for my dog. Duck, delicious, but skin not crisped and fat improperly rendered. The sauce however was delicious. Dessert (ice cream bar) was OK. Crepes were the highlight. The water and ice during happy hour taste off, but in the main dining room was better. Diet soda was too sweet (in house mix). Staff was friendly. Wait staff did not take drink orders at all, which surprised me. I also noticed my server folding napkins after he was clearing dirty dishes off the table with the same gloves on (white catering style). I asked him not to touch my napkin, but at some point he got it, which has got to break some food health and safety rules. I good time. Now that we have the pleasantries out of the way, "Villa" Lombardi's! When I was a kid, Mamma Lombardi's was my after school job. I worked with Mamma! She yelled at me for sneaking in the cold box and eating cannoli cream out of the tub. She'd also make me chicken cutlet parmesan after school (When her son Guy wasn't in the kitchen) Across the street was woods where I'd ride my dirt bike. I left the Mamma Lombardi job and joined the military. When I came back from being overseas, Mamma Lombardi's built a huge new restaurant across the street and started building Villa Lombardi's, a upscale wedding & catering hall. Over the years I've seen the transformation from the small restaurant to the Lombardi restaurant group. This location is their flagship and it is magnificent. All in Holbrook, where I raised terror with my GTO on Grundy Ave. Driving up to the Villa, its impressive. There is a valet waiting for your car. Just a note, if its a large affair, the cars/traffic will be backed up. I actually parked in the restaurant lot and walked inside. What the Lombardi group does which is great, they'll host a large Christmas party where you can rent a table. If you have a small office, like a real estate office with 10 people, you can purchase tickets and have a holiday party. Yippy! Villa Lombardi's takes care of everything. All you do is pay. Normally, we'd have an annual party on the North Shore location. They were so booked up and pushed our group to the Holbrook location. I've never been before, lets talk a walk thru. Walking into the villa is drop dead gorgeous. The family has spared no expense on expensive Italian marble tile. In the middle of it all is a beautiful Christmas tree. Very festive. We found our group tables and settle in. Open bar is always a good thing. I see these guys standing on line ordering Chocolate martinis. I wanna smack them in the head. There's Scotch hidden behind bottles of Whipped Cream Vodka! I had a Jameson neat thankyouverymuch. Now the food comes out and man it looks good. I always like to start with real food like a carving station and salads. This is where Villa Lombardi's shines. They have a massive spread of quality meats and cheeses. Perfecto! The Flank Steak was also cooked perfectly, its hard to cook Flank Steak for the masses, they do it right. The olives, roasted peppers, cheeses, dried salami are also dynamite. So far so good right? Here's where the disappointment sets in. Picture taking meat and mixing it with filler, I would say the ratio of meat to filler is 70 filler. This is what they served to us and called it meatballs. Ziti with sauce so thin its a disgrace to call it sauce. Mamma would shake her head if she saw this being passed off as sauce. Also offered was eggplant rollitini, fish, chicken. All of the typical buffet items, I passed. The carving station meats, cheeses and dried salami was plenty for me. If you're planning a wedding, stick to more carving stations and less Italian food. My calls/inquiries were always handled in a most responsive manner, and I remained confident leading up to the event that they had everything covered. It's evident they've been doing this (and doing this right) for a long time! The food was delicious, everything was as promised, and I can't say enough about the incredibly professional, attentive and friendly staff. I've not experienced such stellar service in a long time. Attended the Brunch with Santa last week. Was at the 2nd seating. The food was leftover from the 1st seating. No waitstaff serving at the Buffet. When I booked it I was told there would be Christmas music, Santa and his elves and they would be handing out goodies to the kids. Came out for a "Kingdom Hearts" woman's event with Christian guest speaker Auntie Annes creator. It's very nice though a bit outdated in design and chandeliers were all over the place but that's not what I'm here to judge. = It sparkled, was welcoming, the staff was very friendly (a very stout and strong woman replaced my napkin right away after it had dropped), the layout was straightforward, it wasn't terribly confusing like some of these kinds of venues can be. The bathrooms are located in the main area (logical!!!) as opposed to a hidden in the back dungeons. My complaint with them would be that there weren't nearly enough stalls for the occupancy capacity that place was capable of. We were a group of about 550 women and the ladies room had 10 stalls.... Break time was a nightmare. We took over the men's restroom LOL!!!! The food wasn't bad.. Good coffee. eThe salad bar was amazing! It nestled upon a round table with 3 levels like a crown. Fresh bread, quinoa salad with sweet vinaigrette, iceberg, romaine, spring, chopped fresh tomatoes, yummy! When lunch time came around, the trays were emptying out quick and were not being replaced fast enough since many people stood around waiting several minutes. We were a humongous group though... Catering Hall. Villa Lombardi's is probably the biggest venue in Suffolk County - not sure but if not, it is up in the top 5 for sheer capacity. That being said, we had one hell of a holiday party there with over 1400 people - which made just about everything tricky to pull off. Because of the volume of the crowd, dinner serving was out of the question - they would have needed a battalion of servers who could fly over the crowd. Instead they gave a massive buffet around 3/4 of the perimeter of the entire building- you would have to see it to understand the scale of this and frankly, everything was very good. I was expecting your standard "wedding" fare or worse but everything was just great. Additionally, there was a nice Italian style setup out in the middle of one of the rooms on the end where the crowds thinned out and you were about to move about. The only downside was the drinks were in those tiny catering hall drink glasses which necessitated repeated trips to the bar - but since the bar areas were all loaded with hotties (who apparently didn't read up on what *not* to wear to the company party) who was I to complain? Well executed from start to finish and everything went off without a hitch. Definitely worth checking out for whatever occasion you are planning. Plenty of parking with valet service, as expected. read more

Went to a Sweet 16 party here last night. OMG the room was BEAUTIFUL! The food DE~LISH yumm. Music WAY too loud!! (minus 1 star) And the room was FREEZING!! (minus star #2) Nothing like getting dressed up and wearing your coat. My friend heard the Owner (we think) say he wasn't going to turn the heat on because once people (the teenagers) started dancing they would get hot..... but the rest of us had to freeze. This review is for the Thanksgiving buffet only. The whole experience was just underwhelming. The food was just okay and it was all cold. Maybe it would've tasted better if it was actually hot. The bar was cash only but this wasn't stated anywhere on the advertisement. The venue had no ATM and the house wine was terrible. The desserts were good but won't have me coming back. A year ago, my then fiancé and I booked at Villa Lombardi's for a September '20 Wedding. It was early March and we had heard initial reports about COVID-19, but didn't know the full extent of how it would affect day-to-day life, or how long it would continue to do so. Prior to signing the contract and leaving a deposit, we asked Lynn (the then Sales Manager) whether we would be able to receive a full refund on our deposit should we be unable to hold the wedding due to COVID-19. She assured us that we would be able to. Fast forward to late July, we realized that NYC would likely not open up by September, so we contacted Villa Lombardi's and spoke with Jeannie who mentioned that Lynn was on furlough and she would resume as manager. We mentioned that we wouldn't and couldn't hold the wedding at VL any longer due to COVID restrictions and requested a refund. Jeannie informed us that VL decided that they would only issue refunds as the City and State decided to remain closed, and would not issue refunds until then. She offered to move our date to next year. After an intense back and forth of me insisting that we had received confirmation that we would be able to obtain a refund, Jeannie mentioned that they have already issued refunds and were tight financially. We contacted them again in December after the ban was never lifted and she then honored our request for a refund. To date (3 months later), it has yet to be issued. I contacted VL today and was informed that Jeannie was in, but when the receptionist discovered that I was calling to follow up on the refund status, she quickly mentioned that Jeannie might not be able to take the call. She returned from placing me on hold to inform us that we would need to go through accounting going forward due to a new policy. I understand that COVID-19 has had an affect on everyone in a variety of ways and am sympathetic to that. However, I'm disappointed that our initial request was denied back in July and now 8 months later, I'm directed to navigate red tape and Jeannie who we've been in contact with is no longer willing or able to receive our calls. I'm not sure what happened to our deposit. I'm left to assume that it was directed to pay for other expenses, although I believe that it should have been earmarked for our event solely and returned to us once it was no longer going to be used for that. VL seems like a decent establishment, however there is no timetable in which to expect our refund to come in and that's unsettling. Attended a Golden Wedding Anniversary party here this past Saturday. The two stars are for the sushi bar at cocktails and entree from the sit down dinner. Cocktails hour/s was crazy. The spread was huge...I cannot remember how many bars they have...my sister and I propped ourselves near the sushi bar...we see salmon sushi, we hover around it. I hovered once and left immediately. The salmon wasn't fresh and the sushi rice was horrible. I do not know where they learned how to make them but it tastes like an experiment went wrong in the kitchen. Good thing they had other food to offer. So I filled up with whatever else I can get my hands on. Dinner came about two hours after. Yea, the party was pretty long and before dinner came, I wanted to leave. I shoulda gotten the cue from the failed salmon sushi but I didn't. I, again, got Salmon for dinner. It's baked with something on top. I do not know what it was and I couldn't care for it. The fish was dry and the rub was disgusting. Thank God for the green beans that came with it. That's all I ate. Spoke to management Michael took days for him to respond. My son literally had bug/worm in food then found it in his mouth after running from the table to go outside we left with discuss my son was sick the whole weekend. When to sweet sixteen party I was surprised how much of a down turn this place has taken. The prime rib was tough dry and about two days old. I returned my dinner and told the waiter to tell the chef that it was inedible, no one came to see if anything was wrong. They don't care five chicken dishes at our table were not eaten and again no one cared. The maitre d is clueless, the wait staff clueless, the kitchen clueless. I've been to several weddings at Villa Lombardi's before and was always impressed. I was surprised to find that it was within our budget when we checked into the possibility of having our own wedding there. I have to say that Albina was absolutely wonderful throughout the whole planning process -- she was knowledgable, friendly and very patient. The vendors recommended by Villa Lombardi were fantastic. There were so many areas at Villa Lombardi's which were perfect for our pictures. On the day of our wedding, we were wowed! Our guests were thrilled with the food and the location -- especially the cocktail hour! The staff was attentive from beginning to end. We requested an outdoor wedding, and as it was November we weren't sure the weather would cooperate; however they remained flexible, worked hard to accommodate our request, and made it happen. Their outdoor space was recently redone, and it is lovely. From the bridal attendants, to Albina, to the teriffic food -- everything was wonderful! From start to finish, my baby shower was a complete and utter disaster. For 4 weeks straight my family was tossed from Villa Lombardis to Lombardis on the Bay in regards to rooms being available and what dates were available. One day a room was available, later that night it wasn't. One catering manager tells you one thing, another has a whole other story. There is no communication between the individuals working here, thus making it difficult to plan an event. The day of the shower EVERYTHING WAS WRONG. The linens, the cake, the room. The entire time they thought the shower was for my sister!!! When we first arrived, no one knew which room we were using, and what wound up happening is that they SET UP THE WRONG ROOM. The kids working the party never refilled a water glass, nor did they circulate with champagne. There were 3 of them working a party of 35 people. This business has gotten too big for its britches, and it shows. I will never have another event here, or any other Lombardi's related facility, nor will I recommend them to anyone. This gets four stars for the amazing spread of food they provide for parties and occasions. I go here every year for my company Christmas party and never have to worry about the food. Even for a company party there are passed around appetizers, a full antipasto station, cheese station and a selection of hot entrees. The sheer amount of food is amazing, then add to that it is actually quality food and you got a winner. The service and attendants are always professional and helpful. The whole place is well maintained and opulent. However, this is where is loses a star, though. It is over the top opulent. It is where a mob wife would have her wedding or christening. Hand painted murals, gold railings, chairs with gold painted feet, marble everywhere and an over abundance of detail everywhere. Needless to say, but I will say it anyway, it is mafia-tastic. Hope this review won't get a "hit" put out for me. All this said, if you want fantastic catered food with lots of options the Lombardi's places are for you. My recommendation check out Lombari's on the Sound where you will get the same amazing food and service with a more subdued look of luxury. read more

Booked an appointment a week in advance to meet with the banquet manager. Had my fiancé come in from the Bronx to visit the place. They had no knowledge of my appointment, name, phone number when I arrived and had actually booked another couple at that same exact time. The couple arrived shortly after us. The banquet manager then told me that the couple had booked their appointment and I was welcome to wait an hour for them to finish! Very nice catering hall in long island. Outdoor ceremony area was nice, but there was some road noise. Cocktail hour area was a nice glass enclosure area, very large. Cocktail hour food was superb. Booked Mother's Day brunch for 7. Started off with a tacky table in hallway to pay for buffet and receive receipt with table number. The room itself was boring and set up with tables like a wedding without decorations. No flower for the moms, get your own cutlery, coffee and drinks. The food was warm and held over in buffets and looked over cooked and covered in sauce. The sliced pork looked like it may have been undercooked, very pink and dry. The breakfast selection was very small. The omelets took so long to cook and they were brown and over cooked by the time they served it. The pasta was very undercooked and the sauce tasted like it was from a can. The meatballs could have broken a window. The calamari was like rubber. Much of the food did not taste good. There wasn't even much of a selection compared to other places we have tried. It seemed like a lot of food, but they put trays of the same food in three different spots. What a disappointment. The server cleared the plates over my head and I had to keep moving to avoid her spilling things on me. The dessert had many things with the same ingredients, so it was repetitive. The cookies were stale and the cream puffs hard and barely filled. There was no pie, and the cake was dried out. Then when we left, there were only two people serving the valet parking line, so it took a half hour to leave. I was so embarrassed that we chose this place. It was horrible. read more

Recently attended a wedding party last night there and was not very impressed. The waitstaff was nice, as were the bar staff; but the owner was a real piece of work. Apparently he has decided to make the bartenders use some kind of device which "measures" alcohol; which wow "great"...I had to wait like 20 minutes just to get a refill, which was not fun. I was kind of surprised because I know the place is supposed to be classy but with that it felt tacky. I'm not sure how the bride/groom felt, but I know a lot of people in line were kind of upset with this as well. read more

I have been here twice for holiday parties, and the place is very nice, the food is good, the staff is professional and friendly. The food was buffet style, so I am standing online to get a plate, the first plate I pick up had left over food on it that was not washed off properly. I figure, ok, these things happen, so I put the plate to the side and get another, it was satisfactory. I go sit at my table, and the utensils where I was sitting were filthy, I reach for the next set, and they was dirty as well, in fact most of the utensils on that table were soiled. We ask the server to replace them, as she did and apoligized. I go to the bar for our drinks, and as soon as I sat down and picked up the drink, I see lipstick on the edge of the glass. I did return to the bar, where the gentleman attending gladly poured me a fresh drink. This is a pretty posh place, and I'm sure the company that paid for this service shelled out a pretty penny for this party, and to have soiled dishware and utensils is just unacceptable. read more

Experienced their turkey day buffet. Beautiful building and decor. Extremely clean throughout and great table maintenance from staff. Food was warm and held too long in the chaffing dishes. Selection was mediocre and felt like a wedding where the bride chose all the low end items. Dessert buffet was the most disappointing- butter cookies missing the butter, pies and custards were at room temp and there for hours, couldn't cut the pie slivers any smaller, selection was poor, missing many popular selections. The big thing that was upsetting was how nothing was served - had to go to the bar for small soda glasses and the bartender couldn't put it in a pint glass for me as he watched me get up to get. Sodas throughout the meal. Truly designed to make sure you don't come close to getting your monies worth and left me feeling severely underserved.
