Dr. Villa misdiagnosed me with three autoimmune diseases, severe sleep apnea and told me I was "Going to die" if I didn't get a CPAP machine immediately, Lyme disease, allergies, and a severe heart issue she said she saw from a lung scan (impossible). She also stopped me from getting much-needed knee replacement surgery saying I would die during surgery because of the autoimmune diseases. She had me so scared as she kept telling me I was "going to die". She had me taking IV drips of Vitamin C. She also claimed I had allergies and ordered 14 weeks of two shots on each side (4 shots every week), so I put my life on hold to get 3 1/2 months of shots only to be told at the end of the regiment of shots that I would have to start again with 14 more weeks of allergy shots. I then decided to go to Mayo Clinic for second opinions and the top doctors there (after tests) told me I had nothing wrong and that I was misdiagnosed by Dr. Villa. I was cleared for knee replacement surgery last year (March 2024) and which was successful. I am alive and well thanks to Mayo and following my own intuition to get a second opinion. I would not be alive today if it wasn't for Dr Villa. As a retired RN of fifty years when I read negative reviews of this Physician I am sure those who penned them do not understand the difference between a regular MD and an Internist. Dr Villa is an Internist who runs more blood tests than most GPs and is similar to a detective to isolate medical problems . If you read your own Lab test results , many of the findings are explained by the Laboratories themselves. Quite a few state you may have had these viruses in the past, some say your mother may have had this disease and /or your immune system may have recovered from the disease.....thus, you have circulating antibodies. As we age .our immune system naturally gets weaker. Dr Villa takes the total state of your health into consideration and treats what she sees by examining all tests into consideration and to strengthen your entire system. She discovered my husband has Lyme disease. At first his tests just showed antibodies to Lyme however, further studies came back positive for Lyme and she has been treating him for it. Prior to the positive diagnosis from the Lab, she could see he did have an autoimmune disease. I knew i had Lupus for years along with severe anemia because my Lupus remained undiagnosed after many Specialists. I even had frequent fevers , joint pain and the butterfly (malar rash) All the GPs and Specialists I went to over the years took an ANA test which always came back negative. This was the only general practitioner that I met who could think outside the box. I'm thankful for her, if it was not for her I would not have found out I had Lyme's disease. She treated it and it was resolved. Only thing is at the 16 tubes of blood from tests that she ordered, there was 46 different diagnoses were only maybe eight of them were true. She has been in trouble with the Florida State board in 2012 for playing tricks and schemes on her patients, and then in 2014 she got in trouble with the state attorney's office for having employees performing duties in her pulmonary office that they were not licensed nor trained to do. Other than that I thought she was okay but she ruined my medical record and now it's going to be tough for me to get these things that were not correct diagnosis is off my record. I guess she gets paid possibly very diagnosis it she comes up with on a person. Told my friend to see had autoimmune disease. I asked my friend which autoimmune disease does he have. He said she told him that because he got the covered shot, his immunity was low therefore he has autoimmune disease. I shook my head and I said but what autoimmune disease do you have? And he had no idea. Just believing in with the doctor tells him. She also told me a price for a particular procedure but these other two ladies that I met who clearly had money told me they paid a whole lot more than what I was quoted. When I asked her about this she said no no they have it mistaken, and then she quoted me a totally different price than the first price she originally quoted me. Makes no sense. I think she's still playing tricks and schemes. Also do not, do not get any compounded medicine from the facility. They do not have a licensed pharmacist nor is it a controlled atmosphere. Do not believe in the diagnosis that she tells you you have unless you have a lab form in front of you that tells you that yes you have this ailment or whatever. This doctor treated my husband based on what another doctor told him. She did not do her own test prior to 2 weeks of intervenious Flagyl. He ended up in the hospital due to thos and the doctor Lau that treated him in the hospital told him he did not have dysentery and the treatment could have killed him. We have been in search of a physician who thinks outside the box and is NOT a main stream doctor. Doctor Villa is that doctor.
