One playground is situated behind a school and it is more ideal for older kids. The other playground is closer to the obstacle course and pickleball courts. This playground is ideal for children ages 1-8. Both playgrounds have plenty of slides, swings, and climbing structures for the kids to expense their energy. The obstacle course is a fun activity for adults. My brother and I challenged each other to see who could complete the course under a minute. It served as a good testament for some friendly sibling rivalry. The only downside is the tennis courts were converted to pickleball courts. So although it can still serve our purpose for tennis lessons, it isn't the most ideal with the small courts and lower nets.

Four Seasons park stretches from Finley Road on the west to Main Street on the east. There is a very large pond for fishing or simply admiring (no swimming). When winter conditions are right, the pond is available for ice skating. There is a steep hill in the park ideal for sledding too. In addition there is an historic log cabin on the Main Street side of the park available to rent. It has a small kitchen, a fireplace, and AC. It can accommodate 75 for a meeting or 50 for dining. I come to Four Seasons Park to walk , look for wildlife, listen to songbirds in spring, and watch the seasons change. The park is safe, spacious and well kept. There are large expanses of grass and on the south side of the park near the pond is a particularly pretty area with several large weeping willow trees. I especially enjoy the park in spring and fall because it is peaceful. You'll likely see many squirrels, Canada geese, ducks, and maybe a bunny. Watch your step in some areas! When I say many geese, I mean MANY geese. Meander around the sledding hill. There's a nice view from the top and, if you look carefully at the surrounding thickets, you'll find secret passageways. There is a skate park and large hill nearby. This is ideal for kids with plenty of energy to expense! Just be watchful and don't let them run too fast and tumble down the hill. Another benefit is that this playground is incredibly close to several bakeries and restaurants on Roosevelt Road.

Really nice skatepark and park located in Elmhurst off of York…read more The skatepark is free of charge which is nice. Kudos to IL for making these free of charge for everyone to enjoy. A lot of the outdoor parks in MN charge to skate. Park is clean and well maintained and has a variety of ramps, rails, a half pipe. small little bowl and a place for people to sit who want to just watch or take pictures of their kid or husband. Summertime the park look like fun. There is a small waterpark adjacent to the skate park that looks to have a decent size pool and a few waterslides.

Every so often, a booklet comes out with tons and tons of classes for kids and adults--the classes are decently priced, and really great for the kids. Mine took the Art and Soccer, and really loved them. Elmhurst also has a lot of nice parks, a couple with pools or spray pads. My kids and I enjoy them a lot! Also, the EPD offer preschool classes, which my kids are currently enrolled in. They are loving it, and so am I! The teachers are super sweet, and really teach the kids a lot--from counting and alphabet, to manners. You name it, they teach it. My kids have flourished during their time in the Sunbeams and Rainbows program! It's a tiny bit expensive, but well worth it. I would totally recommend it to anyone looking for a preschool!

It's right near the Glendale Heights fire department at Bloomingdale rd and Fullerton (I always hope they're bbqing so I can stop and ask for a bite when I'm starving post-run) and also near a school so beware of cops, they're always swarming the area. The park is nothing stunningly unique but it also isn't displeasing to the eye plus it's clean. Green fields, 2 play parks, some sporting fields, a skate park, a pond, and the only part I really care about-- paths to run on. I try to run for at least 30 minutes so I usually end up looping the paths in various patterns, it's mostly flat/nearly flat terrain but there are some hilly portions so that adds some variety (also, there are mile markers). Plenty of parking, benches along the path, this park has something for everyone. BTW, be kind to the geese during nesting season, they're just wanting their little ones to be safe.
