Okay, I forgot the pics ‍ but trust when I say this was some tasty bbq. It is a one man show over there so don't show up when you're already starving. You will be waiting as Randy is pumping it out per order but if you're not in a rush, it's worth the wait. We got the pork ribs meal with plantain and sweet potatoes, brisket with mac&cheese and red beans&rice, pork bellies, and corn bread. All the meats were fantastic. The brisket was my favorite, it was fall apart tender a close second was the macaroni and cheese. The pork bellies were sauce and savory. The little bbq sauce cup was even good. I dipped my brisket in there but it was also fantastic on its own. The only thing I wasn't too fond of us was the corn bread. It had a sort of citrus vanilla taste that I wasn't really a big fan of. Next time I want to try the fried chicken and the seafood platter. Don't miss this little hidden gem read more

I came across this bbq spot from Yelp. It's a small takeout with two small tables to eat in. The service is a little slow, the owner works alone during slow hours as stated to me. The turkey wings were seasoned well, you get two wings with your meal. Other places I've eaten at give you one wing so, that's a plus for me. The candied yams were tasty. The rice and beans were ok along with the collards. The brisket was really good, tender, seasoned well and juicy. I will definitely return to try other items on the menu. I had to come rave about this place! Village bbq has amazing barbecue and smoked meats. I've had the brisket which was amazing, the jerk barbecue chicken which is my favorite, the fried fish sandwich, the chicken cheesesteak (wow! best I've ever had) which I asked for with a side of bbq sauce and that bbq sauce was phenomenal!!!! Service takes a little while but it's always worth it and the owner/family that runs it is so pleasant and friendly. I'm always happy to support this business. I would say that I've had small issues like my cheesesteak order on DoorDash didn't come with fries when the sandwiches say that they should. Also I'm not big fan of the sides on the menu. But that doesn't take away from my review because the meat is just that great. read more

For my Leap Day review, I'm happy to mention the uniquely wonderful Village BBQ. To sum it up - they offer AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS BBQ! Since I love ribs, for my first visit I got both kinds - the pork baby backs and beef ribs - plus various sides including baked beans, mac n cheese, sweet potato fries and green beans. The huge beef rib was so flavorful and fall off the bone tender, I never knew beef ribs could be so moist and good. Oh my my. Baby backs were coated in yummy BBQ sauce, tasty and not overly sweet. Of the sides I liked the sweet potato fries and baked beans best. The owner/chef (Randy?) is a very nice person, and my order was ready on time. I ordered delivery. 1 Turkey Wing, Mac 'n Cheese & Green Beans OMG!! Absolute PERFECTION! Everything was seasoned beautifully. The Turkey was extremley succulent, the Mac 'n Cheese was the BEST I've EVER tasted and the Green Beans were highly seasoned & OFF THE CHAIN. I just read about Village BBQ on FB the other day. Ok, this is subjective. Not a bad review, just informative. Went for BBQ sandwiches and ribs. If you like HEAVY smoke flavor on your BBQ, this is for you. I just wasn't a fan. Couldn't eat it. Wife had the ribs, wasn't as smokey, she couldn't eat it, but I did. But the yams were the best, the corn ,not so much. I will give them another chance and try the chicken and fried pork chops. read more

IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE 10 STARS I WOULD! this place is wonderful. Food was sooooo good!! Quickly in and out and the service was on point. We happen to be in the area visiting from Washington, D.C. for a tournament and found this GEM! brisket sandwich - the best ever: Soft, succulent Smokey taste with just the right amount of sauce prepared with lots of love. The whiting fish sandwich was juicy and tasty with the right amount of tartar and hot sauce. Ribs and pulled pork smoked right and tasty. Not to mention the best sides of collard greens, Mac and cheese and yams. All too delish to describe. The owner is friendly and welcoming and lets the food talk for itself - very modest. This is basically home soulfood / Southern cooking in a small restaurant setting. In fact the stove and refrigerator are right behind the front counter. The food is mostly very good. I grew up eating this kind of food, so I tend to be very picky. The ribs passed muster, even though they were not super tender but they were flavorful. The sauce was serviceable. The fried whiting fish sandwich could have used a little more fish and less bread and a few more pickles, but wasn't bad. The baked beans, and the beans and the rice side dishes were good and flavorful. The mac and cheese was good but not great. Still better than 90% of that I have tried at other places in this area. The cornbread was disappointing to me, in that it was more like a cake, too soft and too sweet. I guess that is why it is listed under desserts on the menu. Overall, worth coming to and returning to, once you sort out the best dishes. read more

So I came here with high hopes. Ordered the 1/4 jerk chicken with Mac and cheese with sweet potato fries. As I was waiting by the door, the very nice gentleman there was retrieving trays from the fridge and packing my box with leftover Mac and cheese, and jerk chicken. To say I was completely disappointed is an understatement! Although I appreciate that they don't waste, perhaps they can participate in Too Good to Go app so they can finish what is left over. The food was tasty but was not freshly made and portions were generous. The reheated left over was highly disappointing and the only thing "freshly made" was the frozen sweet potato fries that was deep fried at that moment, although it could have used a little bit more time. Small take out location. 1 worker doesn't speak much English. I went about 2pm-ish. No yams available. I ordered small 3 meats combo. I didn't like how the applicable options aren't listed. The owner? taking my order said no, the beef rib is sold per ounce. He then proceeds to measure it on the food scale and explain 1 beef rib is 10oz, so for 1 piece was $15+. I ordered mac n cheese as 1 of my sides and there was an upcharged not listed nor stated when I placed the order. It was average. The shrimp were over seasoned/salty. Fried chicken had no taste. Pork ribs were standard. Corn muffin was good. As you can see, plantains/chicken/sweet potatoe fries all cooked in old oil. read more

I don't write many reviews, but holy sh*t. My fav BBQ place, BBQ and Biscuits, closed down last year. I found this place on Yelp but I'm sometimes wary of positive reviews as I know some are "paid" for. Just got my first brisket sandwich. Loads of brisket. Great BBQ sauce. Best BBQ around! Have followed Village BBQ to all 3 locations, it's always worth the trip. Plus the meats freeze beautifully. Ribs are flavorful, moist, so tender my 101 year old Mother even eats the bones. The brisket has so much flavor, cooked to perfection you'll find your mouth doing a HAPPY DANCE. In the 5 years I've been going to Village BBQ my family and my friends have always been very happy with the food be it the assorted meats or any of the wonderful side dishes. The deserts are all great but my favorite is the Banana pudding. It's made the old fashion way, real ingredients, baked in the oven. My mother's 100th birthday party was catered by Village BBQ and every guest was delighted by the quality and variety of food. Great food be it for just yourself or a big gathering. We visited the restaurant on a recommendation of a food blogger on FB, we ordered the St Louis ribs with a side of Mac & cheese and collard green. Unfortunately, I wasted $30.00 dollars the food was disgusting the barbecue sauce left an overwhelming bad smell on our fingers the macaroni and cheese looked and tasted nasty and the collard greens was also disgusting. We also ordered a side of banana pudding also disgusting not worth the trip. Then the owner had the audacity to offer us a sample of oxtail, he stated and I quote " if the barbecue don't bring you back the oxtail will" end quote. The oxtail also had a bad oil taste we immediately threw them in the garbage. I will never go back the sad thing the owner thinks he is making good food don't know who told him this was good but I'm sorry please close this place before someone gets sick with food poisoning. They were playing early 2000s hard rock on the sound system, which fits perfectly with the feel of the place.

Now the food, their appetizers that they bring to the table were just ok; the sweet plantains, rice and beans were pretty good. The French fries were undercooked which no one at the table touched. The salad could have used a little more color but the dressing was really good. The meats themselves were good but could better. I really enjoyed their picanha; it was cooked a perfectly medium. It was juicy and flavorful. The chicken legs and turkey wrapped in bacon were so delicious and well seasoned. When it came to the skirt steak, short ribs and other cuts of meat, I felt like they were on the drier side and not as tasty. They never asked how we liked it cooked (medium or well done) so we just got whichever temperature they were served. I was also disappointed they didn't have chicken hearts since I always look forward to those when I go to a rodizio. Each person rodizio is $54 which is definitely on the higher end and the prices on their website are outdated. I would probably not return; there are more affordable rodizio with higher end cuts.
