Friendly staff and magnificent variety, many popular and unique brands, I found a top notch stash of Sugar Plum Tarts by Urban Artifact. Dived for an additional six pack of their Teak, a scrumptious citrus mixed nearly as divine as their winter purple brew, I am all for these craft cans. This location is much better organized than the others, about as good as Meijer! Easier to find random brands and types since the mainstream stuff is always so obviously placed. Wish they had a discount and clearance section to move on slow sellers! Nice to see a cash discount but bummer to have confussion all over with prices, lack of labels, no rewards system either to entice me back. But of course I'll be back to get more tarts! read more

Went looking for allocated Bourbon. I asked for the price on 3 different bottles. I was told 101, 43, and 50. As they were allocated that seemed a low so I grabbed them and had them price checked again. The bottle that was 101 showed that they were asking 1250 for. The bottle that was 43 dollars was 260, and the bottle that was 50 was priced at over 300 dollars. I then find out that the smaller prices are what they pay for it. absolutely ridiculous price gouging. Just for information purposes the bottle that they were asking 1250 for has an MSRP of 179 dollars. read more

Use to be a great place until the Kork and Keg owners took all the stores over. They have tons of allocated bourbons and guess why, because they are ridiculously priced 3-6 times more than msrp. The staff are super friendly, but that does warrant paying the high prices. What's funny is idiot owners like this, that will rape their customers on prices, will eventually go out of business. Bedrock Liquors is the last good place in Lafayette to get bourbon reasonably priced. I will be glad when a Total Wine opens up near by and runs these horrible stores out of business. They had ten bottles of Blanton's Gold Edition going for $399.99 a bottle lol. Yep, that why they have so many, because only an idiot would pay those prices. This place was a nice find on our quest to get some good craft beers in the area. While I was somewhat taken aback by the brewers they were lacking, they had a nice selection of stuff. I ended up supporting the homeland with a Sprecher sample 8-pack. Some of the craft beer 6-packs here were a bit spendier than I'm used to, which was surprising. The Bottle Shoppe is a large store with a lot of wine and cheap domestics, but the craft beer selection isn't bad and apparently this is one of the better spots around Lafayette to get it. The dudes running the place were friendly and helpfully pointed us towards where we could get some firewood for our campfire. Cheers! read more

This place has the best selection of alcohol I've been able to find in the city so far. The staff are friendly (and helpful- they will help you find the items you need and make recommendations). Still not as great as a Total Wine or other insanely large store, but the best for the area. Prices are mid range, and the variety is enough of a draw to keep me coming back... keep in mind, it definitely caters to the college students, so if you want top shelf liquor, this is not the place for you. read more

I bought a liqueur that comes in two strengths. The lower strength normally costs about $15-20 less than the stronger version, and is the one I wanted. We shopped in a hurry, asked for several different bottles, and the clerk got them and rung them up. When we got home, we realized that despite asking for the weaker version, he had given us the stronger version of the liqueur and charged the higher price. When we went to exchange the bottles, the manager of this store insisted both versions cost the higher price. I checked numerous other liquor store websites, and the difference in price ranges from $15-20 more for the stronger version. So we overpaid a lot and will not buy from this store. I hope others don't have the same miserable experience. read more

I was looking for a whiskey to buy for my in-laws from out of town to take back with them. I did a bunch of research on whiskey via google and such and had an idea of what I wanted. When I stopped into this place and talked to one of the sales staff I didn't tell them what I knew and let them do their thing. They were right on the mark, everything I read on the net was pretty close to what they were saying. There were a few brands they recommended that I didn't find in my research but in they end they picked some winners. The inlaws got the bottles back home and shared them with some friends and said they were excellent examples of Good American whiskey. Thanks to the VBS!!! read more

I have never met a staff so rude as here. They rival Hobby Lobby for the worst customer service in town! Not helpful, very short and when called on it, they claim "they will work on it." Meanwhile the person saying they will work on it, hung up the phone... Seems unrealistic to me that they will work on it. read more

Great selection, friendly staff minus the manager Donna. I called in about a month ago asking if they received any Three Floyd's beer. Donna answered and gave me a quick NO, and hung up before I could say thank you. That evening I was in W Lafayette anyway and decided to stop by and pick up something other than Three Floyd's. When I arrived, I went ahead and asked the employee's if they received any Three Floyd's that day, and they said yes, we have a few different kinds. This made me wonder if the manager just wanted to get me off of the phone earlier that day. Yesterday, I called in and Donna answered. I asked if they received any Three Floyd's. She responded with a quick No, and again hung up the phone. I did not believe her so I made the 15 minute drive over the river to find out for myself. When I walked in I asked one of the regular employees who noticed me and before I could ask he said, hey man we got some Three Floyd's in today... I noticed that Donna was still there stocking wine. After checking out, I confronted her and explained I was upset that she was short with me over the phone on both occasions. This was a mistake! For the next 5 minutes she got defensive and loud. She was practically yelling at me(maybe she's just a loud talker), in front of her employee's and other customers. She stated over and over that she has been the manager for 17 years(that really showed). Also, that she was not feeling well and that she was stocking wine shelves when I called. Also, she told me that AT LEAST 10, TEN PEOPLE, call per week asking if they received Three Floyd's beer. I understand this beer is intermittently delivered and it's not their fault, but they keep the stuff hidden in the back so you have to ask one of the employee's if they received any that week. Customer/Employee interaction is required if you would like Three Floyd's. Anyway, this is not why I confronted her. After 17 years of experience, I would think she would handle my complaint more professionally. After getting yelled at for 5 minutes and was barely able to get in a sentence of my own, I shook my head and walked out vowing never to return to that store. It gets better... Half-way home I get a call from VBS on my cell phone. I think to myself, maybe she is calling to apologize for treating me so poorly. WRONG! Somehow they "butt-dialed" me and when I answered I sat there and listened to her berate me to her employee's. Mentioning how I would not get Three Floyd's anymore(i took this as I was put on some sort of black list at the store). Also saying how I think she's a Three Floyd's nazi(soup nazi), while laughing to her employee's about me. The line was disconnected, so I called back and told her that I just heard everything she was saying about me. She said "So?", and continued to tell me that she has managed that store for 17 years and continued to be defensive and not let me get a word in. That was the end of any of my future dealings with VBS. I've never came across an "experienced" manager who treated a loyal and frequent customer so poorly. read more

Great selection, but when I entered the large "cooler" containing the finer wines, the temperature must have been higher than 78 degrees. It should be maintained below 68 degrees, but it was much, much warmer than the standard area of the store outside of the cooler. For a celebration, I intended to spend between $100-$200 on a good cab, of which they have several. I would have been VERY disappointed if I had opened the bottle at the celebration and found it had gone bad. For that much money, I decided not to take a chance. read more
