Such a cool place! I loved the customization that you can do here. They also have an option where you can get multiple flavors and try all of them. LOVE! They staff aren't too friendly, but it is a college town. They were not rude by any means. They also had some random stuff for sale. Which my kid went nuts for. Lightening McQueen car for the win!!! This place is consistently so good. The icecream is the right amount sweet and creamy. They have around 20 flavors and I have yet to try a flavor I don't like. Got some pre-game ice cream to hold me over until after the game. Went over a little after opening. There was hardly anyone there, so I was helped right away. I got 2 scoops of the PB Hearts Chocolate in a waffle cone. Creamy peanut butter ice cream swirled with a smooth chocolate ripple and kissed with peanut butter cups. They didn't skimp on the serving. $7 for a good amount of ice cream. It was good. I think it would be really hard to mess up some ice cream. I took it to go. At the Sagamore Pkwy location, the workers turned off the lights at 9:20, started mopping around waiting customers, and screamed at them that they were closing and to leave. Walking into the parlor and smelling the refrigerators instantly transported me back to my childhood visiting ice cream shoppes on the Jersey shore. My friends wanted to get ice cream for dessert. Let me preface this by saying that I am not a fan of sweets, and I do not have a strong liking for ice cream, especially if it contains artificial flavoring and chocolate. We visited on a Thursday night, and it was packed. I ended up staking a table as they went through the line - which was extremely packed. Eventually after they got their ice cream, I couldn't help but also try one for myself. After all, it had been years since I'd eaten a real ice cream cone. I went through the line and skipped the section of chocolates and coffees but was amazed that they had two other sections filled with a variety of fruity flavors amongst the traditional mint chocolate and birthday cake. I would be telling a lie if I said I could remember all the flavors, but what I can admit is that as someone who doesn't like ice cream, each of the flavors that I picked were remarkable. The cone was also tasty and did not leak until I bit into and broke it - a normal occurrence in most of the waffle cones that I've tried. Awesome ice cream and it's right next to my brother's apartment. He wanted to take me here the last time I came to Purdue to visit him, but we didn't have time. This time I was at Purdue for his graduation and we finally had time to visit this gem. They don't really have any mixed ice cream like what we considered blizzards, but they have a lot of premixed ice cream flavors. The ice cream is really soft for being something that's scooped-out and not soft serve. When I think of single scoops and double scooped ice cream I always imagined it being hard and texture. But, their ice cream was very soft, fluffy, and it wasn't too sweet. I got a scoop of rocky road and a scoop of munchie Madness. Both scoops of ice cream that I got had a really good texture and a really good ice cream to ingredients ratio. read more

Best selection of ice cream in the area! I will try all of these flavors, a Lafayette bucket list must - I have tried all the flavors (available at that time but they're always changing)! Got the Mini Monster with 3 friends over the weekend. NO REGRETS except for the sherbet - does.not.mix.at.all. Never put sherbert and other wonderful ice cream flavors together, it is disgusting. Imagine a nice chocolate bar and getting slapped with a lemon sugar cube. I will definitely get a group back to treat ourselves with all the flavors again but will also definitely make sure the sherbet is replaced with vanilla or just anything that won't turn into a gelatinous goop of neon colors. The best flavors are just about all of them. Even the Superman with it's obnoxious rainbow mess has a tasty flavor. I typically have to do the Zanzibar, mint, and something involving a berry. Great to see milk-alternatives and weird flavors - black licorice (wait it's gone! shucks, bring it back!!), matcha, and cakes too. Got curbside pick-up given the current COVID-19 situation. A few things to note: - call before placing an online order: a few of the sorbet flavours I wanted to try were not available in store but were showing up on their website. - they don't take orders over the phone, only online (for curbside pickup) or you have to go into the store. The employees all had masks on, but the same cannot be said of the customers inside. - with online orders, the ice cream is given in plastic containers and the cone is given separately. It's disappointing to see all the plastic cutlery/utensils being used, given the negative impact they have on the environment (hence why I dropped a star) - hopefully they make changes to this soon! - I tried their passion fruit Italian ice which wasn't great to be honest. I personally wouldn't recommend it. - the praline pecan is good. - "this $%@! just got real" is super yummy. Just the right mix of salty and sweet (if you like that sort of thing). This was not my favorite place! There were a lot of flavors! I got regular vanilla on a cone and was told I could not have any toppings on it so it made me sad because I wanted sprinkles! Fun Fact, Indy Folk: Silver Dipper uses the same ice cream company that Wyliepalooza does--Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream from Wisconsin--so you know you're reaching a quality product. Better yet, they have more flavors than you can imagine, including ones you don't see at an ice cream shop much (i.e. lemon poppyseed, green tea, root beer float). My only complaint is that this shop charges you for any cone--not just waffle cones--which gave me a feeling of being nickel and dimed. 10 extra cents for a sugar cone? I got 6 mini scoops which were great. However I also got a medium shake, which was made by a new employee I assume. The shake was incredibly liquidy, to the point where it just tasted like watery milk. I brought it back inside after having a bit of it, and asked them for a new one that wasn't as liquidy. They said no because I had already drank too much of it. I had maybe 40% of it, which may be a lot, but when drinking water out of a thick milkshake straw, it goes quick. Also, it's not like you're saving the ice cream, it would've been thrown out anyways. I asked for a shake to be made with half of the amount then, to which they also said no. Pretty disappointed with the service and likely won't be going back, I can pay $6.80 for a watered down shake elsewhere. read more
