Punta Gorda's waterfront dining scene is buzzing with launching of Leroy's Fish Shack, Castaway and Latitude 26 at the Fishman's Village. Leroy's Fish Shack which occupied the former Village Fish Market, was still under renovation. We stop by next door, to the Village BrewHouse. This is off season and we were able to get an inside table with gulf view without any waiting time for lunch. As soon as we were seated, the place started to fill up. The hostess was friendly and waitress was great. We opted for the inside seating due to Floridian heat. We ordered Blueberry Waffle, Cod Tacos and Fajita wrap with French Fries and fresh fruit. The food was good. The Blueberries were very sweet; the Fajita wrap was tasty. The Cod was Lightly breaded and fried with power slaw, Pico de Gallo, and remoulade. This is a nice place for lunch or dinner with an excellent water view. It was fun sitting by the water and watching the boats! Service during the week dates are fine! To the wandering hungry person - this place looks delightful. Outdoor seating vibes are high. Seating is available inside if you'd prefer. Pina colada is 10/10, creamy, delicious robust drink.... My husband ordered a grouper sandwich and when it arrived he was shocked at the overall size of the fish. For 25$ I would highly recommend not ordering this. Both size and taste were underwhelming. I had the bang fish tacos and they shrimp was delicious... but again we wanted more! You get two large tacos filled with shredded lettuce and tomato's and 3 tiny shrimp. Both of us got the coleslaw for a side and it literally tasted like slaw with mayo... and nothing else. Would I come back? Definitely for the Pina colada! read more

Great ambiance if you sit outside by the water. It's okay if you are inside, then it's going to be just a regular sporty bar look and feel. Service was okay, the lady was friendly and didn't disappear. Good selection of foods but deep-fry heavy. The salad came with all ingredients separately laying on the plate, so I had to try mixing it without letting items fall off the plate (didn't work). The add on fish was severely overfried and tasted more like a jerky. Mahi tacos weee good. Wine comes in plastic "glasses". Views - 5, seats comfort - 3.5, service - 4, food - 3.5, cleanliness - 3.5. Went today for a bite of lunch. I was well aware that they would be crowded because it was the " season" around here. And boy was it. They had two hostess lines which perturbed most of the folks that were waiting.You started at one and then they sent you to another. I was fine sitting inside as I have water in my backyard. I will say the views are spectacular. My server was quite nice and recommended the smash burger. Even though I have lived here for ten years, this is only my second visit. The description said it had thousand island dressing on it ( I was thinking a dab of special sauce or something) so I went with it. That burger came out so drenched in that bottled dressing I could not pick it up without it completely disintegrating in my hands. So i decided not to let it beat me and tried the old knife and fork routine. That sauce was so overpoweringly sweet, I just couldn't do it. The fries had been precooked and rewarmed. Not good. They did have a nice singer outside. So much for taking myself out to lunch. I also despise it when servers only bring you huge bills as change hoping to force you into giving a tip as big as the bill. Doesn't work on me. I carry 100 singles at all times. read more

Great food, excellent view and phenomenal service. A few friends and I stopped in had a few drinks and ate dinner without any complaints. This is located in fisherman's village. There is plenty of parking and lots to do before and or after your meal. The food is not only great tasting but the portions are healthy in size. Great spot! We loved the atmosphere right on the water. The menu had great selections, as well as a good craft beer menu. I had the build-your-own tacos with blackened mahi and it was delicious. The other meals our family got that they loved were the cod tacos with sweet potato fries and the chicken avocado club. While the atmosphere and food were 5 stars, the service was more like 3 stars. Our actual server was super nice, but was busy and only came to our table a handful of times. Our food also took a long time to come out. Watched the sun go down and it was awesome. That was fun. I absolutely love how this place is decorated. We did sit outside (a little chilly today but the views are beautiful. I had the Mahi blackened tacos. They were very good. Needed a squirt of lime ‍ and that really made it delish. My friend ordered the black bean burger and it wasn't good. She had me taste it as that would normally be my go to. It was to squishy in the middle. Not the way I like it and she had a hard time getting through it but the service was a little slow so she didn't want to order something else. Cod Tacos were also a complaint for the hubs. He ended up eating one of my tacos. I seem to be the only one who loved their meal. We would go back and order actual burgers and try some other items. Great service, the food was fantastic and the portions were really nice sizes for the price. We got the village shrimp (fire cracker style shrimp spicy slightly sweet mostly heat) big plump shrimp probably 15 or more didn't count for $17 well worth it big to share with 4 people or a meal. Blacken Mahi bites, nice basket full, good seasoning delicious dipping sauce perfect and not fishy at all. Pickle fries were a generous portion cut thin, maybe to thin the breading ratio was high but they were tasty. My daughters kids grilled cheese was so good and we got a nice big Caesar salad good dressing and lots of cheese. Bloody Marys was spicy (perfect amount) strong and thick just like I like them! Well I can not tell you much about this place other than the service SUCKS ! We sat at the for over twenty minutes, to me thats about twelve minutes too long. We were never acknowledged. We were never looked at in our direction. We did in fact watch the bartenders tend the other side of the bar. We did in fact watch the bartenders engage in many conversations, on the other side of the bar. We also struck up a conversation with the couple seated next to us. Asked about the service, they said the service has been awful today. We can also tell you that couple, left very shortly after us... I know cause they came to the Sunset Beach Club where we were, already served cocktails within minutes of arriving. They too agreed the service at the Village Brewhouse SUCKED !!! read more

Fisherman's Village has limited dining options currently, but Village Brewhouse is open and is a great option! We went on a Saturday night and had an hour long wait, but it went by fast as we walked around the shops and stopped at the tiki bar. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and bars as well as live music which adds a lot to the vibe. There's a good draft beer and cocktail list for drinks. The menu is big! I had a hard time deciding what to get from all of the options and it looks like there's something for everybody. We started with the fishville shrimp which were delicious. Always great food, friendly service, and nice atmosphere. You can sit over the water for a beautiful view or near the bar. Dog friendly and they often have live music. Village Brewhouse Right now, this restaurant is one of the only ones left in Fisherman's village. It has an outside bar and an inside bar. It also has outside dinning with two different areas. One side has live music and the other side is quieter and has some of the best sunsets in that area. I ordered the Beef Tips with Mushrooms, Onions with a demi glaze over Mashed Potatoes and a side of Baked Beans. My wife ordered the Fresh Apple Walnut Salad with Blackened Salmon on the top. For being as busy as they were our ordered came out fast. Our meals looked amazing. When I tasted my Beef Tips the were very good then I went to the Mashed Potatoes and the Baked Beans, and they were just as good. My wife's Salad everything on it tasted fresh and the Blackened Salmon was also very good. All our food was hot, tasty and plenty of it to fill us up. We ordered the Cookie Skillet for Dessert, and it was fantastic. I must add our server Sophia G was spot on with service. We both were shocked that the food was so good. Just went in for some drinks & appetizers, while enjoying the sunset. Ordered elote dip & blackened Mahi Mahi bites. The sauce for the fish is what made it. Village Brewhouse has really nice server named Mckenzie, I believe. The hostesses got us right next to the water! which was nice. The live music had talent, as well as an impressive playlist. Met some friends for lunch at Village Brewhouse in Fisherman's Village, Punta Gorda, which serves as a great halfway meeting point for us. We opted for outdoor seating by the water, and with the perfect weather, it made for an enjoyable setting. I ordered the blackened grouper sandwich with fries, and it did not disappoint. The grouper was cooked perfectly, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The fries were a great complement, crisp and satisfying. Got a table on the deck overlooking the water, it was gorgeous. Got a Florida Georgia Line drink that was also quite good. The food and prices however were not as great. The food was cheap tasting and sides cost extra for everything, a drink and entree along with a side of fries was almost $45. Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night at 5pm and it was packed. They said we got the last table before a waitlist started. The service was friendly and the menu was large. They had quite a few specials available that all sounded great. The food was average or slightly above average for a sports bar. We started with the Elote Dip and Salmon Bites, which were both pretty good and the whole table enjoyed them. For my dinner, I had high hopes for the Ahi Tuna wrap but I didn't love it. The fries were pretty good though. Overall, not great, not terrible. Nice change of pace from the typical Florida touristy "seafood" joints. read more

We had guests in town and we ultimately chose Village Brewhouse at the Fisherman's Village, simply for the view and the wide variety of food options on the menu. Its been git and miss with our bar experience but this time we dined outside. They truly have something for everyone! It was 6:30pm on a Monday, we went to the host podium and we're seated on the outside patio instantly. Reservations not available. Our server was Rachael Ann, she was pleasant and extremely attentive. Full Rack of Ribs: WOW, that's a lot of meat! Fall off the bone and fantastic! Mango Salmon with Side of their house rice and a vegetable: Great dish! The salsa was fresh, the salmon was cooked perfectly & the rice was full of flavor. This was a home run in my opinion! Luau Chicken: Sadly, this dish was very lack luster... the decision to provide some sliced chicken on a plate and call it good... they could have done better. My husband said the sauce and salsa made the dish. He wouldn't order it again. Overall though, this is a great place to dine with a view, wide variety of menu options, there is shopping available in the Village and visitors always seem to like it. I had lunch at the Village Brewhouse today. It was fun sitting by the water and watching the boats. Our waitress was Aleya. She's been working there for seven years. We ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich. Unfortunately, it was over fried. Aleya asked us how everything was and we told her! She really appreciated the feedback and the price of our sandwich was reduced. This was handled in a way that I will definitely be returning. While some may say that the restaurant was overpriced, I found the prices consistent with restaurants in SW Florida, which generally is more pricy than Ohio, where I am from. read more

1 star is completely directed at the service. I've had plenty of time to write this review during the wait for a response from our server. Took 15 minutes to get noticed 20 minutes to get our drinks. Currently 1.5 hours into the visit waiting on round 2 of drinks. The server is overwhelmed with tables inside and out. She didn't deliver the apps or the drinks.
