Dave and I wanted to try this restaurant because they are sister restaurants with Carmelo's. Little did we know that it wasn't air conditioned, especially on this 90 degree day. I was already grumbling to myself as we entered. There were fans blowing all over and I thought I was in Whirly bird heaven! The hostess and waitress were friendly and helpful. The place is modern , open and airy with a large bar in the middle. We had an eggplant small plate and tortellini bolognese. Tonight was pasta night. So we ordered both and the tortellini was delicious. They are definitely small plates and if you don't order a salad or bread there isn't that much to eat. Sort of like tapas, little tastes. Dave had an IPA and I had a club soda with lemon. I can imagine that this restaurant is packed during season, but it hardly was crowded now. Good idea if you can cool it off somehow!

We stumble upon Ortigia Cucina & Bar after attending a performance of Gulfshore Opera Go Divas & Latin infusion we decided to get small plates and choose the the cold plate, Italian Charcuterie Board which included Dry cured salame, imported sharp provolone, mixed olives, roasted peppers, taralli crackers, fig jam and truffle honey. $24. an a hot plate CALAMARI ASIATICO Asian style fried calamari with spicy chili pepper sauce, black sesame seeds and scallions. $14. The food was nicely presented and prove to much for the both of us, who tend to be light eaters. The food was very good and as I said presented very nicely. Our only complaints were they had many high tables which were empty and less regular tables which were full. Also it took a long time to get our check. We choose QUERCETO CHIANTI Italy $9 Happy Hour is Sunday -- Thursday: 4pm -- 6pm Saturday: 12pm -- 4pm -- Thursday: 4pm -- 6pm

Terrific delicious food! Wow! All 3 meals, YUM! Their service was excellent too and the live music was fantastic! Super cute place! Completely covered building, but all sides open! Lots of fans and cool breezes! We will definitely return to this amazing Italian restaurant! They got it going on!!!!

Ambiance is south west Florida. Has great vibe to the pace, which is all open and some nice colors and tones. Being a new place it's nice and clean and vibrant. Big TV''a behind bar, which is a very large rectangle. Nice place. today they have live music which to me is always a great touch. Service, anyone that knows me or reads my reviews knows that I have been a bartender and server for 40 plus years and for me service has to be close tp perfect. As i first walked in I can't say i was greeted by the three girls leaning and chatting at the hostess podium. They did acknowledge me when i said hello. (they should of acknowledged me before as i entered). I sat at the bar where what appeared to be a bartender in no mood put too menus down in front of me and walked away. No hello, No eye contact, No smile. I contemplated leaving as It appears no one that works here smiles or chats with the guests at the bar. Even as i sit here and wait for my lunch there are two people (i can't call them bartenders) talking to each-other with puss faces. hey wait a waiter just served me my food and spoke and told me to enjoy, there is hope. Not really, neither person behind the bar came over and ask me how it was. I ordered the Ortiga wedge with shrimp which was very good yet they were more outer leaves of romaine than hearts. still very good. 2 out of three not bad, but for me service is key and the service here was way off.

Not sure when this place changed hands but when I was here last it was the Punta Gorda Social. One of the waitresses told me they opened 2 months ago under the new name. The menu looks is totally different from the Social. Lots of Hot and Cold small plates. We weren't doing an all out dinner so we ordered the Arancini (rice balls) with truffle. Totally delicious, deep fried to a crispy crunchy crust on the outside and moist rice on the inside. Served with a truffle sauce. Will definitely be back

This place is really good! They use great quality ingredients! Fresh pasta it is so yummy. They do small plates and have a couple of entrees. I gave it 4 start because I have been here twice and the second time I was here the food was served warn not hot like it was sitting for a while. But it was still good.

My fiance and I went after church on a Sunday. The service was fast and friendly. The setup was surprisingly cool considering how hot it was outside of the seating area! I ordered the cacio de pepe and added shrimp and it was the most delicious I've ever had. We definitely plan to visit again.

Quiet and calm, I was greeted by a friendly face and easily placed my order. I had a couple of glasses of wine and just enjoyed my surroundings. As I was leaving, it appeared that someone was setting up for live music (this was a Friday evening) Great prices, great selections, great service.

They run around and do a good job. I chose Sauvignon blanc and enjoyed. I was torn about what to eat. One of the servers, Jason, recommended the octopus and the meatballs- so I said ok! The meatballs came out first. They were tender and had a nice lamb flavor. I liked the hummus a lot. The pita was cold and stiff, but I ate it. The octopus came out hot. It had a nice citrusy sauce. It was cooked perfectly. Apparently they poach it, I asked. I always want to make something like this but I have yet to actually do it. Jason did bring a basket of crusty bread for the sauce on the octptus but I ate a few pita triangles so I skipped the bread. After my wine and tapas, I closed my tab. I easily found the restroom near the stage. I had walked over, but they do have a small parking lot of front and there's another one across the street. They have an event on the last Tuesday of each month. They close the store for it. Call ahead to make a reservation. I just missed the Wagyu wine pairing this week. Oops. They have music most nights. You can check their website for the event calendar.
