Called in an order as I was famished and about 30 min away. Host had my hold for the bartender. Bartender was super helpful. J got the meatballs and the cavatelli bada bing. I parked and waited at the bar to be helped. My food was ready! I paid and left. Grateful they gave me silverware. Items were packed carefully. The meatballs were fantastic. I love ricotta on top. The pasta dish was ok. The cheese was so congealed it was like an omelette. I could lift it out of the dish. I'm sure it's better hot and fresh but I don't recommend it as a to go item. I ate some bit saved the rest. The next time I ate it, I reheated it and added more chicken :) It's pretty basic. No complimentary bread. No included salads. Stopped in for dinner and was seated right away at 7pm on a Friday. You can add yourself to the waitlist on their website but we didn't even need to. They had very loud music compared to what we normally hear walking by, which was pretty annoying to try to talk. We ordered a ton of small plates to share with the table and there were so many to choose from! The tuna tartare was everyone's favorite but we liked everything. We also ordered the Arancini but that came out after the picture was taken. We had 3 adults and we didn't even finish everything we ordered. The service was great from the host stand, our server, and food runners. The dining area was clean and once the sun went down, they opened the side walls to make it a large open space. We will definitely come back. Our only issue was that the music was just so obnoxiously loud and it made it hard to have a conversation without yelling. read more

My mom and I stopped by this spot on a busy Friday night, and while I'd love to give it 5 stars, we didn't explore enough of the menu for a full deep dive. That said--the calamari? Absolutely FANTASTIC. Super fresh, perfectly fried, and that cherry pepper sauce? Fire. Drinks came out fast and were just as good, and our server was adorable. On top of it the dad rock musician was was poppin'. The indoor/outdoor vibe was exactly what we needed to kick off the weekend. Only downside? Two drinks and an app set us back a bit. We came during a craft festival and sat on the Patio. Outstanding service by Madison. The Arugula salad that I ordered was Magical; so delicious with its Ingredients. It could end up being be one of those addictive salads! My partner enjoyed the Balboa Panini filled with Sopressata, prosciutto, mozzarella, roasted peppers, oil and vinegar! Ate at the Ortigia Cucina & Bar last night with my son and daughter-in-law and we were so pleasantly surprised. The food was absolutely delicious, although all our meals did not come out at the same time and we had a wait a few minutes till my daughter-in-law got her meal, it was hot and cooked to perfection tho. I had the best arugula salad ever, perfectly balanced with the tomatoes, red roasted peppers, blue cheese, and balsamic dressing, and also the beef tenderloin skewers, which were cooked, medium rare and served with crispy potatoes that were seasoned spot on, just enough to make it a delightful dinner! My daughter-in-law had the swordfish which she said was very tasty, my son-in-law had the chicken Christina, which he devoured, and my husband had the cheese raviolis and meatballs, which were on the children's menu, but they said they could give him the adult size portion, which he also enjoyed. I tasted his meatballs and sometimes they are not the best everywhere, these were very good. I normally do take pictures of the food, but I forgot because we were so hungry and dug in as soon as we got our meals, but the presentation was very satisfying. The only negatives were, the music was very loud, and we could barely have a conversation, only when the band took a break, and our waitress didn't put much effort into being friendly or going the extra mile. Had to tell her to get my husband, ice, lemons for our water, and remind her about my daughter-in-law's meal that we were waiting for a couple times. Dave and I wanted to try this restaurant because they are sister restaurants with Carmelo's. Little did we know that it wasn't air conditioned, especially on this 90 degree day. I was already grumbling to myself as we entered. There were fans blowing all over and I thought I was in Whirly bird heaven! The hostess and waitress were friendly and helpful. The place is modern , open and airy with a large bar in the middle. We had an eggplant small plate and tortellini bolognese. Tonight was pasta night. So we ordered both and the tortellini was delicious. They are definitely small plates and if you don't order a salad or bread there isn't that much to eat. Sort of like tapas, little tastes. Dave had an IPA and I had a club soda with lemon. I can imagine that this restaurant is packed during season, but it hardly was crowded now. Good idea if you can cool it off somehow! read more

We came here last night. A+ The food was amazing. I had homemade pasta with meatballs. My husband and friends had swordfish. We had calamari, a little overcooked but still good. The food was nicely presented and prove to much for the both of us, who tend to be light eaters. The food was very good and as I said presented very nicely. Service, anyone that knows me or reads my reviews knows that I have been a bartender and server for 40 plus years and for me service has to be close tp perfect. As i first walked in I can't say i was greeted by the three girls leaning and chatting at the hostess podium. They did acknowledge me when i said hello. (they should of acknowledged me before as i entered). I sat at the bar where what appeared to be a bartender in no mood put too menus down in front of me and walked away. No hello, No eye contact, No smile. I contemplated leaving as It appears no one that works here smiles or chats with the guests at the bar. Even as i sit here and wait for my lunch there are two people (i can't call them bartenders) talking to each-other with puss faces. hey wait a waiter just served me my food and spoke and told me to enjoy, there is hope. Not really, neither person behind the bar came over and ask me how it was. Not sure when this place changed hands but when I was here last it was the Punta Gorda Social. One of the waitresses told me they opened 2 months ago under the new name. The menu looks is totally different from the Social. Lots of Hot and Cold small plates. We weren't doing an all out dinner so we ordered the Arancini (rice balls) with truffle. A Tuesday evening it was busy but no wait and open tables so not too busy. Food was excellent and it was a lovely evening. Unfortunately the service was terrible. Our server should have been a magician as he had his disappearing act down pat. We had to ask other servers for everything from salt and pepper to serving spoons. No worries about being too tipsy to drive apparently we only get one glass of wine. When the meal was done and we waited a ridiculous amount of time for our server to return we asked a bus person to try to locate him. The bus boy promptly returned and said our server would be right over. 20 minutes later nothing so got up and went to host/hostess station and asked for a manager. Manager came over, we explained the situation and asked for the check he apologized and got us a check. No attempt to make anything right, not looking for anything for nothing but an offer would be nice. We gave him a gift card and he took it said he'd be right back to settle the balance. Well he took a magic lesson from our server. After another 10 minutes we saw him at the hostess station, tried waving him over to no avail so we figured out the settlement and brought cash to him and ask why he didn't return as he said and he told us that he told our server to bring it right over!!! Again all apologies and I said to him that he made no effort to make things right, hell you could have offered us a piece of cake to go or something and he said well I could do that now, we passed as we figured we would be there until the following morning waiting. Trying to show our out of town friends a nice evening turned into a long drawn out ordeal. read more

We loved the bada bing shrimp, meatballs, calamari, and burrata for starters. I wasn't a fan of the VALDOSTANA DI POLLO (fried chicken balls/bites). They didn't have a great flavor and the sauce basically tasted like melted garlic butter. We ordered the Sacchettini Milani for dinner and it was delicious. It has a light pear flavor that isn't too strong with the Gorgonzola cheese sauce. Everyone at the table loved it! read more

Food service declining. In past month the food just has not been up to par. This is a favorite place of mine, but couldn't eat my meal on last visit. Ordered charred octopus and it came out w/o the usual micro greens and oil drizzle over fried potatoes - instead the presentation was less than desirable, under charred, creamy looking green sauce on a bed of more fried potatoes than I could count, and skin sloughed off in a way that reminded me of a burn victim's appendage. I'm off of octopus for good now. Might be for the best. Waitress went to show manager, but a manager never came to my table. Paid and left. Won't be going back soon as this turned me off of Ortigia's possibly for good. Pretty sure I have PTSD (kidding) from the under charred skin sloughing tentacles. It was gag worthy. The chicken dinners my friend and I ordered were very good but no bread, no salad, very small scoop of pasta with the chicken Parm. It's definitely not on par with Carmelo's though same ownership. Don't plan on going back again. I think it was $5.50 to get a bread with a dripping oil. read more
