My husband got the flight which included four beers and my cousin got the saison beer. Both enjoyed theirs. My daughters got the kids vanilla ice cream which was in a bowl and included a sugar cone topped with chocolate syrup -- it was a great size for $6! I do love the space, we came on a Sunday so it was busy around the bar area because of the eagles game. We were still able to watch where we sat in the dining area. Our server was very sweet too! Went to Village Brewery on May 6, 2026. Overall the service was good and the food was exactly what you would expect from a brewery. If you're looking for a good time where you can watch a sporting event, enjoy a wide selection of beers, and not spend too much money, this spot is definitely for you. Village Brewing (haha I've always called it Village Brewery) is a multipurpose location in Downtown Somerville that offers local beers as well as a full menu. On my last visit, I ordered the 8 piece tavern wings (4 with maple brown butter/ 4 with bourbon bbq) which were pretty good, paired it with a glass of prosecco. I was there for a quick meet up with the girls, but they do also host a lot of large private events. They recently had a 2 floor Halloween party which was free to attend. Came here for a spontaneous mom's night out last weekend. After dinner, we wandered into the Village Brewery for a few after dinner drinks. Even though we are old, we found our way to the downstairs club style area and I was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't packed and the music wasn't crazy loud! The downstairs is definitely more appropriate for college aged students, whereas adults like ourselves (late 30s) would probably enjoy the upstairs area better. Somehow, we actually lasted a good hour and the only down side was the drink selection was limited (a few craft beers and some spirits). I enjoyed the IPA I had. read more

Village Brewing offers a fantastic experience, especially during happy hour. Their deals are hard to beat, and the spacious location provides plenty of room for groups or a relaxed outing. I came for an after work happy hour and it was a great team bonding. The happy hour pricing really is fantastic. I enjoyed the big pretzel for $7 and the beer cheese was absolutely fantastic and delicious. I ordered the I know a guy IPA which was pretty good nice and subtle and a lighter beer for sure. The atmosphere is inviting, and the service is solid. The only downside is parking. it's either street parking, which can be tricky, or a paid lot. Stopped in there last week for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by not only how good the beer was but the food as well. But first the beer. I'm a sucker for a light wheat beer. The problem is that most micro breweries opt for IPAs or Double IPAs or anything IPA and ignore anything else. They had a banana wheat that was literally epic. Light and refreshing, especially on a 95 degree day. Being a Friday afternoon, they were pretty empty but I can see them getting jammed at nights. The place is enormous, decorated well and immaculately clean with a massive bar. Service and food were also excellent. If you're ever in the Somerville area and craving some good food and delicious beer, pay them a visit. You'll be more than pleased. read more

My wife and I stopped in for a drink and something to eat . Sat at the bar . The bar top felt so sticky . Asked the bartender to wipe the bar he said it was the paint and no matter how much he would wipe the bar . It still feels sticky . HEY MANAGER THIS IS A PROBLEM . We've been here a couple of times before (using the outdoor space),but last night stood out in terms of how caring and understanding the staff was,to let us sit inside with our pup after it had rained heavily outside and we had just evacuated our home due to fire alarms going off. We were so appreciative of this place being open so late (~10pm), had really quick service (ordered a couple of their seasonal iPAs and fried onion rings) and an overall pleasant stay. I only ever come here for trivia on Tuesday nights with friends. The staff is friendly but very slow, especially on trivia nights when they're busy. It's a great place for the vibes, but their drinks and food are overall...average. I've tried their wing sampler (buffalo, garlic parmesan, and sweet chili), truffle parmesan fries, the smokehouse burger, and nutella pretzel bites. I haven't had a standout "negative" experience here, but their food is nothing to write home about and it's extremely overpriced. Parking: Main Street is metered parking until 7 pm and free parking on Sundays. If you're into trivia, I highly recommend 22 West in Bound Brook! They do trivia at 7:30 pm on Wednesdays and their food is WAY better. read more

I came here at the behest of my old friend, who had some errands to do, and needed a sounding board, as he usually does for his multiple personal concerns (he's a supreme narcissist, which he's admitted), My role as a sounding board (sounding bored?) usually consists of me replying, "Uh-huh," "Uh-uh", "Nope," "Really?" "You did something stupid like that...why?" "Holy shite!" As we've known each other since our teenage years, I'm used to the dynamics of the friendship, and...at the very least...it's company. (At the very best, he has an essentially good heart, we sometimes have fun, and he will occasionally listen to 1 or 2 of my problems if pressed.) After venturing into Raritan (1 restaurant we considered was packed to the gills with servicemen and the restaurant itself had a weird smell to it), and then back out of Raritan, he headed over to Somerville and suggested Village Brewing Co. on Main St. Eleven years ago, this would have presented a problem, as he would have invariably gotten annihilated on booze and whatever he might have been carrying around with him. However, he's 11 years sober now, and we've been in a myriad of places since then that served liquor, and he's never indulged, so I felt pretty secure, and agreed to his suggestion. Inside, the restaurant is large and roomy, not particularly bright, but there's enough illumination to see what's going on around you, or what's being presented to you on your plate. There are enormous vats of beer visible through a plate glass window off to the side, with blue and red lights reflecting off of them. Although booze is obviously paramount to the operation of this establishment, the restaurant itself seemed to attract families and groups there to dine, not drink. Bathroom was clean and functional. Service was friendly and efficient. As always, I don't remember what my friend ordered, but I had a Coke (or maybe it was a Pepsi) and a bowl of the tomato bisque, which was tasty and satisfying. I ordered the Kielbasa and Pierogies, accompanied by caramelized onions and sauerkraut. I'm committed to the diet I've imposed on myself, and no longer need a lot of food in order to satisfy myself at mealtime (where I work, people gain a tremendous amount of weight I've noticed solely due to "stress eating."), but I thought the portions presented on the plate...while not meager...weren't exactly abundant, especially given the prices, which weren't excessive but were pretty steep. The kielbasa was flavorful, but way too salty. The pierogies were filled with potato, which I'm usually not a big fan of (I prefer cheese pierogies) but I will say that these were light and fluffy, even after I dabbed them with sour cream, and didn't sit in my stomach like a brick, as potato pierogies have tended to do in the past. Given the amount of weight I've been able to lose (26 pounds in a few months), I allowed myself the treat of 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. Hello, old friend! It was creamy and delicious, maybe even more so because of my self-imposed privation. For me, the soup and the ice cream were the best parts of the meal, although I enjoyed the pierogies. And I think I would have enjoyed the kielbasa, had it been less salty and had there been more of it. Nothing here is cheap, but it's not prohibitively expensive either. I thought the food was decent overall. And it's a pleasant, friendly environment. Recommended. read more

The sweet Thai chili are my favorite but we also got garlic parm which were good as well. The truffle fries were also pretty good. They were very crispy and had a drizzle of truffle oil on them so you definitely got that flavor in every bite. **The only reason for taking 1 star off is because of not having happy hour. Their website states that they have happy hour from 4-6. We were looking forward to getting a few items we've gotten off this menu previously. We arrived at 4:30 on Friday and our server told us that they "took happy hour away for a little while". I absolutely do not recommend. My friend and I had a terrible experience a few months back and I was hesitant to share my experience but felt inclined to, in case others had similar experiences. I took a bite out of my chicken sandwich-- it was grey in color and slimy in texture. I told the waitress I'd like to return my dish (which I'd never done before). The waitress came back and said the manager said it was thigh meat... okay... but I know how chicken is supposed to look and taste and this was not right. I've had thigh meat before, never like this. She took back the rest of the sandwich and my friend, who was sitting across from me, could see into the kitchen and the manager was EATING THE REST OF MY SANDWICH. I did not receive a full refund (manager argued I had eaten some of the sandwich... I took two bites). Manager's behavior and actions were wildly inappropriate. My family owns multiple restaurants and this type of behavior is never tolerated. All and all, management takes no accountability for quality issues and gaslights customers that have valid concerns. Every time I've come here I've been blown away by the drinks but a little less impressed by the food. In complete honesty, the food was never amazing and felt very lacking until I went to Village Brewing today and I was absolutely stunned! The menu was completely revamped and updated, to offer many more interesting and differentiated meal options. I enjoyed an espresso martini (very delicious), and the big pretzel, with honey mustard and beer cheese dip, which were absolutely divine. My friend (who always comes here with me) was also blown away by the quality of her fried chicken sandwich. Been meaning to come here for awhile and so glad we finally did! First of all, we had no idea how HUGE this place is. It just kept going further and further back, they can pack a ton of people in. And the industrial modern vibes are really great. And the food is excellent. We got the nachos and man those chips are delicious! I'd say they needed a tiny bit more cheese, but it wouldn't stop me from ordering them again. We also got the fish and chips and the pappardelle Ragu. Everything really was delicious. The fish and chips were superb. Thick, great flavor, and maybe some of the best I've ever had. The pasta dish was really tasty and quite different than anything I've ever had. The service was horrendous!!! The second time we were completely forgotten about. After about twenty minutes I asked a busboy if he could find our waiter. For all three experiences everything takes absolutely forever. Drinks take FOREVER to come out, and we waited forever for our food. Also didn't bring the food out together, and we usually wait for everyone to get their food but it was so long we just started eating and sharing food "family" style! The waiter never came back to check on us after they brought our food, and only came back to drop the check. We would have maybe considered dessert but weren't even given an option. The worst part is, at any given time there are about 6 employees standing in the corner talking. If this was a one time thing I wouldn't have updated so poorly.
