This is a combo review of 2 visits. As they were both FIVE STARS you'll be okay. Visit one: Last month I was feeling frisky ::meow:: after a work event at the courthouse and wasn't ready to go home. I literally said to myself as I drove around Somerville that I wish there was a wine or cocktail bar for...mature people like myself to chill at. So I looked up wine bars and boom - VintEdge was right down the street. I came in around 9pm, picked a comfy seat by the window, and ordered. Can you believe I had never had an espresso martini until that evening?? So my first was a pumpkin espresso martini. Well I may have had 2. And another drink. Ahem. The service was great, not fussy, and I wasn't rushed even as we approached last call. Visit 2: having heard about my great experience there alone, my cousin arranged to meet me there last week. Or so she thought. Through a series of mutual miscommunications, I was here at the crib waiting for her, while she was at the wine bar waiting for me. Once we figured that out, she got us some food to go and we ate here at home. Verdict: -excellent seating options - stools, couches, chairs -food is so so good. Tartare, truffle fries. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I was pleasantly surprised by VintEdge and it ended up being one of my favorite eateries so far this year! The outside is unassuming but on the inside, it feels like a classy, upscale restaurant with a casual ambiance. On a Saturday evening, there were still several tables open inside and outside and seating at the bar. The drinks were amazing. My fave was the lychee martini. The food was also simple yet delicious. Came here on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving with a friend because we got burned at DeLucia's Brick Oven Pizza in Raritan (they ran out of dough, the heck). This wine bar is way too cute for its own good. My friend and I split the Truffle Fries and the Cheese and Bread Charcuterie Board -- I always finish my food and I could not finish this. Make sure you have 3 people to tackle it. Like another patron said, this place is intimate and loud at the same time. They only have one bottle menu somehow in 2025, so you might have to wait a little to see it. Just saying. I think they only had 2 people working somehow, but we didn't have to wait egregiously for anything. Overall, highly recommend! read more

VintEdge is such a lovely bar in Somerville! I recently visited for a cousin's birthday and I am thoroughly impressed. I got the Midnight Martini, which was a perfect combination of bitter and sweet as a coffee lover. The Coco Pineapple Express was also a hit for me. What really impressed me here was the fact that food was delicious, on top of the already yummy cocktails. First off, I couldn't stop myself from snacking on the truffle fries. The flatbread was pretty decent. I really loved the smokey flavor of the wings. I also was a fan of the sirloin steak crostini. I love the moody vibe of the lounge, and I found seating to be really comfortable. Service was also great and they brought things out relatively quickly for how big our party was. Yesterday, my best friend visited from Brooklyn and we came here for the first time and it did not disappoint. We started with some great drinks and then we shared the charcuterie board and moved on to oysters and then a porterhouse steak cooked rare, creamed spinach, and steak fries. It was a fabulous meal. Kudos to bartender Gabriella for mixing great drinks and for her attentive service and charm, Patty, and the whole staff. Super friendly staff,great selection of drinks and apps/entrees,and you don't need to only drink exclusively wine (though they're definitely experts!),to find a good drink for your taste. Ambiance-wise,it feels very modern & European,quite upscale. For our party of 4,we enjoyed some drinks and had a variety of appetizers,our favorites were flat drums & wings and French Dip. Came here for wine because we were in the area. This is located in an area with other businesses and there's a parking lot for all the businesses right out front. More or less a plaza I guess. An okay amount of wines that can be ordered by the glass but a significant amount more than can be ordered by the bottle. We chose to do a make your own wine flight of 3 glasses. All were chosen from their wine by the glass list. Our server was helpful with selecting our 3. She was attentive through our stay. Wines were decently easy to drink. Didn't find anything I wanted to purchase a bottle of. My friend got pasta here but she wasn't a fan, barely ate much of it. She said the fries were good though. We stayed for awhile. There were a few tables of guests through the time we were there including a group of women who were clearly drunk at the bar talking loudly in the middle of the day. Not sure if the bartender was taking shots with them or anything. Eventually they left and the ambiance was so much better, peaceful. The interior is really nice. I felt like I was transported to the indoor area of a vineyard. There's also a large wine room with glass walls along one side of the restaurant. Stopped in for some pre-dinner drinks at this upscale wine bar in Somerville. Nice staff, definitely a fancier vibe going on. The drinks here were honestly outstanding. The bartenders know exactly what they are doing. Drinks are on point: tasty, strong enough, and refreshing. Oh and most importantly, they are beautiful. We love a good, gorgeous rainbow drink line-up!! They also have tapas, but they seemed like elevated dishes and didn't interest us at the time. Maybe we'll try them next time when we are looking for some bites but this was a great semi-fancy little bar to drop by before dinner! Quite enjoyed this place! A great place to start the night. Came here with friends and we had drinks and oysters. Now- keep in mind, it can get loud. They play the music louder as the night goes on. I don't think anyone would end up dancing here because there's not really space to dance, but the music they were playing made me WANT to dance. They place a lot of house/edm type songs that made me want to jump around, haha. So not the BEST place to catch up with friends, but a good place to get the night going. This was a magnificent looking place with a private area for events as well as a small bar that seated about six or seven people. There were high tables along with a few couches to sit at as well. They also had their own liquor store next door. It gave off a very relaxed atmosphere. The menu was a little on the pricier side with tapas and appetizers as well as a few basic entrees. I had the flat and drums ($18) along with the raw oysters ($17). There were eight wings with a sweet-spicy house rub with agave nectar served over Spanish onions and a long hot pepper. These were solid. Seven of the wings were large with plenty of meat. The wings were more on the sweeter side because of the agave nectar. Regardless, it was not too sweet, and they were all-around tasty. There were six large oysters that came with cocktail and mignonette sauce. These oysters appeared fresh, and the mignonette sauce enhanced the overall taste. The cocktail sauce was okay. I would have liked more of a horseradish taste to that. Will I go back? Yes. read more

VintEdge is a cute bar tucked away in Somerville downtown. I came here after dinner to grab a quick drink. Upon arrival, we were introduced by the hostess who immediately got us seated at the bar. Please do note that while the bar is open until 10pm, the kitchen does stop serving food at 9pm. Since we just came for drinks around 9:30pm, we had no problem getting in. Once seated at the bar, the bartenders were kind and attentive. The bar had a casual yet upscale vibe (think nice dress shirts after work while catching a football game with the boys)! I went ahead and tried the Fall G & T. This drink was light and refreshing! Just what I needed after a heavy meal. However, I was a bit disappointed that the pear purée wasn't a bit sweeter and didn't mask the strong gin scent. I would say if you're looking for a sweeter cocktail, to skip this one. However, the cocktail was well made and with care, so I would definitely go back to try a different one and perhaps ask the bartenders for their recommendations! Came here on a date night not too long ago on a Wednesday evening. Place didn't look too crowded at first, and we were seated at their long high top that runs the length of the restaurant. Date ordered a pinot, I had a cosmo savannah (peach cosmo). We got the charcuterie board, flatbread, French onion dip, and the truffle fries. Food came out relatively quickly, sans the board. French onion dip was far too salty for the store bought kettle chips they were using. Flatbread was unmemorable, but at least somewhat crisp. Truffle fries had the potential to be good, but the chef forgot just how offensive truffle oil can be when used recklessly. The charcuterie board was decent. Wish it had some more almonds, crostini, etc to break the monotony of cured meats. Fair selection of items on it, but in no multiverse is it a $44 item. Might give it another shot with a friend of mine, but not certain yet. Unrelated to the restaurant, the wine shop and liquor store have a good selection, just a bit overpriced, like the restaurant, but given the location in Somerville, there's probably astronomical overhead factored into the menu pricing. read more

Starting with the ambience, which is cozy and offers high tables, tables, and couches and continuing on to the small but varied menu and the notable service. I've stopped by for weekday happy hours and once on a Saturday night...on the weekends, this place can get packed! Try to make a reservation if possible. For drinks, all the cocktails I've tried here have been fantastic - you really can't go wrong. For food, the three cheese grilled cheese with fig jam looks plain and unassuming at first but is absolutely delicious. The charcuterie is also great for sharing and nibbling on with a few drinks. The cons I have are the food options aren't really appetizing in my opinion, more so small bites. Great place for drinks! I came here a while back with my boyfriend when we were in the area and that this would be a great place to tryout! We quickly realized that the place itself was quite small and we were still able to be accommodated which was great! I did realize that the service was a bit slower however it was a busy night so I kind of expected this. We came for drinks however because we were a bit hungry we decided we would get a few finger foods until we got dinner. We ordered the Margherita flatbread and the Ceviche. I would give the Margherita flatbread a 5/5 and the Ceviche a 3.5/5. I really enjoyed the flatbread since it was super delicious and flavorful! The ceviche was not my favorite but this is with all Peruvian ceviches LOL. My boyfriend on the other hand did really like it so I feel it's a preference thing! Pleasantly hidden behind the main road of restaurant is this little hidden gem. We were house hunting and decided to stop by for some drinks. The atmosphere was the perfect for relaxing, having amazing drinks and outstanding food. The plates are small but boy are they delightfully delectable. I frequented here for the first few years when they opened atleast 2-4 times a month, if visitors coming even more. Was a one of a kind wine & tapas bar, tucked away with amazing staff. Sam, Marlin, Emily & Kelsey knew us by name and were always attentive and friendly, even introducing us to their friends & spouses if they were in. They knew their wines and the food was always amazing. They had entertainment and it was fun to go there! Our go to place to bring new comers or for brunch. Sam left, Marlin left, new owners came and the place went way downhill. New staff weren't educated sommelier's, menu was different and wasn't consistent in how it was cooked or presented. Went back twice, our friends all had the same opinion, none of us go anymore. It's really too bad! I don't think they continued having bands, singers or jazz? Great place ruined!! I often see it closed early on Thursdays thru Saturdays, when you used to have set times and would be asked to leave after a certain time for other reservations to be sat. It was ladies night and I was looking forward to enjoying the night. I made reservations online for 6pm. When I arrived I parked in the large plaza parking lot. I walked in and the host sat me in our reserved area. Our server was Kaylie and she wasn't bad. She seemed to be overwhelmed at times but Sam the manager and Brian the bartender were there for us as well. I didn't order food but the girls ordered a plethora of different dishes which they really liked. I tried the chicken wings and it was good. For my drink I ordered the vodka tonic and it was good. The girls liked their food and drinks and it looked great. The restaurant gave us a 2 1/2 hour seating time which was great. They had a duo musical group perform live and we really liked them. Good bacon flavor and portion 2. Carpaccio - 3.4/5. Meat was not as thin as I expected. Comes with salad on top. I could do without the pickled cucumbers. 3. Proscuitto Pear flatbread - 4.5/5. It seems they were way under staffed (note on door stated kitchen would close early) but the gentleman that greeted me, Marlon, seemed to be running the place greatly. He was waiting, bartending, and greeting. He was knowledgeable about the cocktails and wine (I could tell by his conversations with other guests). It would've been easy for him to be overwhelmed with the responsibility of having to run a one man show that day, but he was friendly, attentive, and composed. I had the figgy smalls flat bread. It had fig jam, prosciutto, goat cheese crumbles, and arugula. It was good but the texture of the flat bread was more crackery than bready. I would definitely return. Go check them out. On December 14th, I called the bar and lounge to inform them that a group, including myself, would be coming in for drinks. I spoke with Alexis, who mentioned that they were fully booked with reservations. I clarified that we would only be at the bar and would not require a table. Alexis assured me this was fine. When we arrived, however, the hostess informed us that we could not enter and that standing at the bar was not allowed. I requested to speak with the manager, who identified herself as Alexis (though I am unsure if this was her real name). She reiterated the no-standing policy. I pointed out that during our conversation, I could clearly see other patrons standing at the bar ordering drinks. This inconsistency was deeply troubling, especially as it appeared that the patrons allowed to stand were not people of color. The optics were concerning, to say the least, as it suggested bias or possibly discriminatory behavior. If standing at the bar is indeed against policy, this should have been communicated during my earlier phone call. Furthermore, I reviewed the establishment's website and found no mention of this policy, adding to the confusion and frustration. As a first-time guest, my friends and I felt disrespected and unwelcome. This experience not only lacked professionalism but also gave the impression of inequitable treatment. I hope the management takes steps to address this issue and ensure that all guests are treated fairly and respectfully in the future. read more

I am so happy I stumbled upon this Somerville gem! It's half wine shop, half cocktail lounge and 100% amazing! What I loved: The cocktails! I tried at two different ones and both were incredible. We thought they'd only have wines but they had a really nice cocktail list and our waiter recommend a few great ones. The space! You can actually see where the lounge becomes a wine shop (I think they might put a division up sometimes?) but it was still so cozy, intimate and a really nice place to grab a drink. They had couches, high tops, tables, everything. While not many other bars/lounges were open on a Sunday afternoon, they were! They had a big food menu but we were just stopping in for some post late lunch cocktails. Big tip! If you are following the directions to this address, just don't. They are right next to Shoprite in that same shopping complex. Park in the parking lot and you'll be good to go. We are treated like family (the kind you enjoy having over), from Nick the manager to Allison (our fav. Waitress) and everyone else. The atmosphere, food, and drinks are all top shelf. VERY DISGUSTED! Went here for some apps at the bar. When the bill came I Charged it, to my surprise when I checked my credit card statement I was billed TWICE. I live 30 miles away from here. When I went back with the receipts they told me I would have to wait 2 weeks until their accounting can look at Meanwhile they are holding my money hostage and who knows if I will ever see it again. People were not interested in hearing me they just wanted me to go away. Please EVERYONE STAY AWAY FROM HERE. I am taking my loss as a lesson. read more
