Not open the stated hours on the door. Doesn't return items on time when promised. Damaged multiple suits by ignoring the permanent creases and double creasing next to them. Acknowledged the employees double creased the pants and cuffs, and despite multiple "do overs" that I have paid for finally admitted there is nothing that can be done to fix them. The last straw was receiving back a pair of suit pants with a hole in them rendering them and the suit unusable. $25 bucks to press (poorly) a suit is also unreasonable. Gouging prices because he believes everyone in the neighborhood is a millionaire, while crying the blues about how expensive his travel abroad costs. read more

I don't need dry cleaning for my clothes often, but chose Village Cleaners for convenience. I brought a dress in for cleaning that was purchased in Italy and purposely asked if they could handle the embellishments on the front. I was assured they could, well they could not. They ruined the dress, only the second time ever worn. They said it was not their fault. If they had any issue, I would have appreciated it returned uncleaned than ruined. Don't go!! read more

This is the single worst experience I've ever had with a dry cleaning service. Several months ago, I noticed that a shirt I got back was damaged (burn spot). I didn't notice it for a while and brought it to their attention. I was told there was nothing they could do about it considering that I hadn't noticed it / worn the shirt for a couple of months. Considering this, I didn't make a big deal out of it. A couple of weeks ago, I took one of my girlfriend's dresses in for a cleaning. I went to pick up the dress, payed the bill, and asked why it was so high. It turns out they charged me ($18.00) for cleaning the dress but did not return the item to me. I really don't know if they were even going to tell me about it until I brought it to their attention. The lady working there had no idea what was going on and had to "call her manager." It took them two days to get back to me and I was told there was a "dye run." I explained that it was a $400 dress and it was fine when we dropped it off and that we had never had an issue with this dress. The manager (Anne) was totally rude and told me it was not their fault and pinned it on us (told us it "might have been wet when we dropped it off" - it wasn't wet) and then told me it may be an issue with how the dress was made. Anne went on to ask me if I had a receipt. I explained that it was a gift from my girlfriend's mother. She told me there was nothing she could do. Additionally, they wasted a ton of our time and were the completely rude. I'd never consider talking to a customer the way they spoke to us. We got the complete runaround. I showed up, payed for the other items that I had there and asked if they were going to credit the $18 for the dress. They told me they didn't do anything to the dress (and didn't clean it) and offered me a credit! I immediately declined the charges from my credit card. I will never take another thing to this place. I really can't believe they are in business considering how they talk to their customers. If you care at all about your clothes, you will not take them here. These people do not care about your clothes and when their is an issue they do nothing to address it and they are offensive in the process. If I had more time, I would file a complaint with the BBB. Amendment: following the incident, the cleaners seem to have corrected everything. They terminated the employee that shut down to go to "Starbucks". The owner also called to personally apologize for the incident and explained how they were correcting the issue. In addition, my cleaning was comped for my trouble. I'm giving them another chance and hope they come through. I was impressed with their follow up and willingness to work with me. read more

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a cleaner. Despite paying $21 to have a dress dry cleaned, they didn't get the stain out, then blamed me because I asked for same day service, then blamed me for not telling them what was on my wife's dress (I have no idea but it's certainly nothing unusual and if it was that important I could have asked my wife), then refused to refund the money, then when speaking to the woman at the plant, she was extremely rude (including cursing at me and calling my wife dirty). If you live in the Mt. Pleasant area and you need to get dry cleaning done- WARNING!!!! DON'T EVER GO TO VILLAGE CLEANERS located at 1110 Park West Blvd! Two of my dresses were ruined during the dry cleaning process. I explained that when I brought the dresses in that I only needed for them to be cleaned and when I picked up the dresses and got them home I noticed holes in both dresses. Spoke to one of the employees and she stated that she had to speak to her manager and that she couldn't do anything. We advised them that we were leaving Friday for our honeymoon and that we would not be back in town until the 22nd of June. The dresses were brought to the store while we were gone by a friend. I then received a call from Ann (manager) this afternoon and was told that they examined and photographed all items that come in to ensure that there are no issues. I was advised that they could send the dresses off to be "tested" and that they would pay for the testing, but if the test results came back that silverfish or moths had eaten the dresses prior to dry cleaning that I would have to reimburse the cost of the testing. They put NO notifications on our receipt that there were issues and I was never advised when I picked the dresses up of any issues. They are now REFUSING to refund me the cost of the dresses. Talk about poor customer service!! The manager also threaten us if we posted on social media. I tried a local non-chained small business and look what I get in return!! Absolutely do NOT recommend this dry cleaner!!!!! The first time I used this dry cleaner they completely ruined my $300.00 dress. When I spoke with the manager they were unwilling to do anything about it and told me I had to take it up with the store where I purchased the dress. After seeing my dress, I double checked the other items I took to them and saw that they had ripped something off of my $200.00 sweater. I took the sweater back to them and they said they would fix it. After TWO weeks I checked in and they said it still was not done. After TWO more weeks they told me they lost it. I am still waiting to be reimbursed for this sweater and it has been almost three months. In my opinion, this dry cleaner did absolutely everything wrong - ruined an item, ripped an item, lost an item. Do NOT trust your clothing in their hands. read more
