What can I say I liked this place so much I created its profile on Yelp (I should have taken photos and I bet I did it wrong as well!). Trust me with an average review count of 1 a year I wouldn't normally go to the trouble but this is far too good a restaurant not to show up in searches.
I have been going past this place for awhile and it seems to be going out of its way to disguise itself as just a local cafe. I had heard they had being doing a tapas menu for sometime and it was great but still only went here as my second choice as fancied an Indian in Terenure but was overruled by my wife who had tried it before and boy am I glad I listened to her.
The staff were really nice and service was great. Food was exceptional! Simple enough but great fresh produce obviously prepared lovingly and with care. Who would have thought chicken wings, spicy meat balls or calamari could taste so nice? I certainly didn't hence my reluctance to go here but I have been converted. We went for the three mentioned dishes plus prawns, crostini with mushrooms and steak ciabatta (description just so doesn't do it justice). That's part of the mystery for me as the menu doesn't get close to describing the treats in store. Nice bottle of red, coffee and one rocky road square later lead to two very happy and full customers. Very reasonably priced, beautifully presented and the only thing that matters - a real assault on the taste buds. I think they only do the tapas menu from 6 Thur to Sun (may be wrong so check beforehand). We are going back with a group of 10 later his month and I'm salivating already.
Great food, really great food and excellent value. Check it out (even if they want to pretend they are just a local coffee shop!) and a menu that although describes accurately what is available completely fails to capture the quality and great flavours hidden in this gem of a place. Should be done for false advertising. Yeah ok, I loved this place! read more
