Vanessa (one of the owners) is there helping you out and welcoming you as if you're family. Lovely atmosphere, honestly. We ordered these tapas for a party of two: chicharrones, chorizo frito y morcilla, carrillada de cerdo (pork cheeks), bomba de la Barcelona, and patatas bravas. I can't pick a favorite (but the pork cheeks, and the chorizo are up there!), but every tapa was incredible and well executed. Take your time, be adventurous, and explore the menu. Portions are small enough that you can order many things to share. Paired the tapas with a wonderful Tempranillo, and a Cava Sangria. Very happy and welcoming place. We were there on Sunday Aug 31, 2025. We had an overnight layover and we looked for a highly rated Spanish restaurant near our hotel. Our flight was delayed so we arrived at 8:30 pm and didn't think we had a chance of going in without reservations either. But the Hostess was so kind and she promptly seated us in the last table for 2! The place was abuzz with people enjoying the company and food. When I came back, I had to wait another 15ish minutes but then was able to get a table. They had to turn away the couple that came after me! Croquetas de jamón - a bit more creamy/wet than my liking, but still good. Very thin and crispy crust on the outside Tortilla de patatas - this is my favorite tapas dish, but this one imo had too much potato and not enough egg. But still a classic and a very very large slice. Pulpo a la gallega (Galician style octopus with potatoes, paprika & olive oil) - amazing dish. Both owners were present through the entire experience and had great suggestions on what to order, food was exceptional. Las Tapas de Lola was pretty good. We visited on a Friday night without a reservation and the place was packed, but they were able to get us a table for two. They gave us a small welcome drink, which was nice. We ordered sangria and wine which was all fine. For food, we got tapas like pan con tomate, croquetas, gulas (baby eel), and mussels. It was all pretty good, but I've had better. For example, the pan con tomate and croquetas were not as good as Jaleo in Washington, DC. Food came out randomly as it was ready, which was expected, but it took a bit longer than we would like to get our first dish. This was my first time trying baby eel and it was fine, but it could have been anything; the main flavor was from the garlic oil sauce it was in. The mussels were also fine, I've also had better. Perfect little spot for a late dinner when we arrived to Dublin. Cozy, but obviously a very popular spot because every table was full. The food was GREAT! We got meatballs, shrimp, mushrooms, and the potatoes. I got a dirty martini, which ended up being the best one I had while in Ireland. I was even surprised by the fact that it had anchovy stuffed olives, which typically I wouldn't even try, but learned I like them! Back after too long, we chanced our arms and we were in luck. A group who had just arrived had two less people, so we nabbed the spare table off the back of that. Before we ordered we were brought a sample of their home made Tinto de Verano. As it was delicious and extremely drinkable, we order some more of it. For food we went for: Salted cod fritters Chicken croquettes Meatballs Marinated pigs' cheeks Patatas bravas y allioli Portion of bread All was excellent with the pig cheeks the highlight. The only thing that disappointed us a little was the cod fritters, they were not what we were expecting, but perhaps we were also a bit sated by the time they came along (and less ravenous for food). The bread was good too and great big pieces of it too. While waiting for our food, they also gave us a sample of their mussels dish. This was also another highlight. We were tempted to add that to our order, but resisted. But we will definitely be ordering the mussels when we go back. A great tapas restaurant in Dublin. This red wine was from Priorat, Spain, it combined the taste between Champagne and red wine. Love it. The combination of the scattered sea salt and the green chilli was just as good as the spicy red wine. The freshness of the cheese squid also accentuated the wine. Wow. I heard high praises from others about how this place has excellent tapas, but words cannot describe how amazing the food here is. Top notch quality and a diverse array of tapas that brings me back to my trip in Barcelona a few months ago. We did family style across a number of dishes - from the machego cheese w honey, pig cheek, croquettes, spicy meatball... everything was great. The standout was surprisingly the potatoes tapas dish - I'm not a huge potato fan, but this place makes em so crispy and flavorful with the accompanying sauce. I actually started this review about 3 weeks ago & it was only when I tried to get a table here last Thursday that I realised I hadn't posted it from my drafts! I'm already a big tapas lover so would have loved to be let loose on the extensive menu but as a large group we had to settle for a set group menu. At €25 the menu was great value..all dishes were decent portion sizes for sharing. I'm still dreaming of the olives, definitely the best you'll find in Dublin! (Pips in obviously) The main dishes were all very tasty, fresh bread, patatas bravas, tortilla, squid ink paella (this one definitely wasn't in the running for #foodporn however tasted great!) I know tapas always come separately when ready but my only disappointment was that the pork loin kebabs came when we were totally finished all other main dishes & everyone was ready for dessert! They did taste great though! I would also love to have seen some txistorra on the set menu..the amazing juices & oil they give would have been a welcome change to the garlic aoili that seemed to accompany each dish! I managed to leave space for the churros with chocolate sauce...as good as any I've tasted in Spain! A good rival for the Port House...not sure I can pick a favourite yet! read more

The food was delicious, owners and staff were very friendly. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They even gave recommendations on what to try. They gave us some mussels to start. We tried the pork cheek which was so tender it fell apart. Then we tried the octopus which was so good! It wasn't chewy like most octopus I've tried at other places. The paprika on it gave it a wonderful smoky taste. We also tried the spicy meatball which packed so much flavor. The outside was nice and crispy. It was delicious. Also, we tried the paella of the day which was seafood paella with squid ink. It was a great night! We did not make a reservation so we went there early like 5:30 pm. Because they were still fully booked, we sat on the terrace. At first we were worried that we would get cold, but in fact it was fine! It gets a little loud due to the cleaning car on the street or some rude motorcyclist but they don't bother our dinner! The waiter was attentive and friendly. Food came in order and he made sure that we understood the menu. We got Chorizo Criollo, Carrillada, Gambas Plancha, and Arroz Negro with some bread (Racion de Pan). The waiter also provided a complimentary salad sample (mayo, tuna) that went well with our order. It was a nice gesture and the taste was also good! I see that people are raving about Arroz Negro that was cooked with squid ink, but to be honest it wasn't "wow" to me. However, the pig cheeks (Carrillada) was so amazing! The sauce was perfect and the meat was super tender. I highly recommend to order a side bread as well bc with any dish you order you can dip a piece of bread in the sauce. Yum. We will definitely come back to this place in the future. Three of us decided to try this place last Saturday for a girls' night out and it was the perfect choice. We ordered 6 dishes between us to share,and got quite a good variety of items to try. Everything was tasty, but my personal favourites were the sauteed mushrooms with runny egg yolk, the paella, the bombas (on the menu, it's described as a meatball, but it's more like a giant potato croquette with a meaty centre), and the lentil stew. Our Spanish waiter actually recommended the lentil stew, saying that the restaurant's version is even better than his grandma's recipe! The entire meal came to about €25/person, which we thought was a great value. They also have a very drinkable house white on the menu for just €22, which made for a very affordable night out. We got lucky and we're seated immediately during prime dinner time but I can see from how many people were "turned away" that reservations are a must. They weren't turned away per se, but who wants to sit around for a 1.5 hour wait? The Chicharones were delicious and were our favorite dish. Definitely recommend.
