    Gambas de ajillo- so delicious!

Very happy and welcoming place. We were there on Sunday Aug 31, 2025. We had an overnight layover and we looked for a highly rated Spanish restaurant near our hotel. Our flight was delayed so we arrived at 8:30 pm and didn't think we had a chance of going in without reservations either. But the Hostess was so kind and she promptly seated us in the last table for 2! The place was abuzz with people enjoying the company and food. The food was deliciously authentic and the wait staff were so friendly and helpful. Excellent first time experience of Ireland. Thank you Host and Staff for such an enjoyable experience. I would definitely go there again if I can :)

Nothing beats tapas in Spain itself, but something as close as the authentic flavors in Spain. This is the closest by far. I tried many tapas places and this place beats it for sure. Best tapas place in Dublin. Tapas range between $5 -$15 each. Each person would need about 3-4 tapas. It's on the pricy side but still very enjoyable and I definitely recommend it.

Definitely gets crowded Friday to Sunday so call ahead for a reservation when possible. I came around 9pm and they said to come back in 30 minutes and MAYBE they'll have a table. When I came back, I had to wait another 15ish minutes but then was able to get a table. They had to turn away the couple that came after me! You get a welcome drink so I drank mine while I was waiting. Service was great and restaurant was cute. Bathroom was large and clean. Croquetas de jamón - a bit more creamy/wet than my liking, but still good. Very thin and crispy crust on the outside Tortilla de patatas - this is my favorite tapas dish, but this one imo had too much potato and not enough egg. But still a classic and a very very large slice. Pulpo a la gallega (Galician style octopus with potatoes, paprika & olive oil) - amazing dish. Potatoes are at the bottom and didn't get too much flavor but it was a good balance having both.

This was by far one of the best meals I had in my 4 week travel through Europe. The staff were unbelievably friendly, this includes the owners. Both owners were present through the entire experience and had great suggestions on what to order, food was exceptional. The ambience of the place was a great vibe for a later in the night dinner with great prices as well. Heavily suggest any of the Sangrias, just ask a server for suggestions. Ham Croquettes to start with the Catalan bread - grated tomatoes and olive oil. A must try is the marinated pig cheeks and the fried aubergine (fried eggplant). Pictures attached. All suggested by the one of the owners

Solid tapas place in Dublin. Please make sure you have reservations ahead of time, or be prepared to be turn away! The dining experience takes about 90 minutes as they cook tapas in batches and everyone who orders x all gets served at the same time. It's efficient and ensures your food comes out piping hot. Highly recommend all the small bites and appetizers, especially the almonds and chicharrones!

Perfect little spot for a late dinner when we arrived to Dublin. Cozy, but obviously a very popular spot because every table was full. The food was GREAT! We got meatballs, shrimp, mushrooms, and the potatoes. I got a dirty martini, which ended up being the best one I had while in Ireland. I was even surprised by the fact that it had anchovy stuffed olives, which typically I wouldn't even try, but learned I like them! We were able to get in right away despite the crowd, which was awesome. Perfect spot!

The food was wonderful and authentic. Tasted just like it did in Madrid. Service was great! We will absolutely be back.

We were fortunate to experience Le Basement during our time in Dublin…read more It's located on the second floor of a restaurant in a small office sized room with a bar, sofa seats, and a few dining tables. When we came they had a band already playing. It was honestly like an American jam sess where people can come up and sing and perhaps play if the request is honored. My husband asked the guitarist if he could join and the guitarist was gracious enough to loan him his guitar and pick as we are foreigners and didn't pack his guitar for our trip. He was able to play for about three songs and it was amazing to see the two cultures mix and mingle on stage. You could tell that the vibe changed throwing him in the mix. I would imagine this magical mix occurs each time they invite any unique talent that visits Le Basement. The drinks were inexpensive, the environment was welcoming, and the music was soulful.

A hidden gem in the heart of Dublin's nightlife, and what a great discovery! Located on Dame Lane…read morejust across from the popular 4 Dame Lane, Le Basement offers a unique evening experience for Dublin. Presented in a similar style to the famous Parisian Jazz clubs, you descend the stairs to a small and atmospheric room with soft lighting and comfortable leather seating. There is decent quality beer on tap and array of the usual alcohol options available with a decent looking menu if you fancy a bite to eat (although I did not). Most evenings around the weekend there is a live Jazz act and, on the night I was there, we had a delightful lady singer with a fantastic voice and a great support band. Table service is available and the staff are friendly and prompt. There is a cover charge ranging from €5 to €8 depending on who is playing. Le Basement is part of Le Cirk - a hotel/bar on Dame Street. If you are looking for a romantic spot to take your partner or just a place to appreciate some quality jazz tunes, then look no further. I highly recommend Le Basement.
