A small flat white and small cappuccino for £6 total is a rare find these days and we both loved our drinks. So much flavour and nice, strong coffee. My only reason for giving 4 stars is that the layout was a bit cramped and it was slightly lacking in customer service. If you're just popping in for a takeaway coffee though, this is a fab spot.

I knew I'd love this place as when I walked in, the smell of roasting coffee flew into my nostrils, Faculty literally had me at hello. So more about this love affair, the coffee is brilliant, the cakes taste fantastic and the tea is a relaxing and soothing as the cute little tea pot suggests. The staff working were friendly and happy to offer advice (to me and another customer who had 21 questions about the origin of the coffee) - credit where credits due, the young chap answering knew the answer to every question! They are also linked to next door, a sandwich shop which is perfect for lunch and you can even order from one side and go and sit in the other or vice versa. Owned by the same husband & wife partnership and matched with the same awesome decor. It's not often I'm in Birmingham but one thing for sure is this fling is sure to continue every time I venture in!

That was the case here, hence the 5***** I had a meeting over the other side of the town centre and once it had finished at 12.30 I fancied lunch before heading back. I checked Yelp and up came Zuri as an option. It was a 10 minute walk and so given it was a bright, sunny day off I set. It's easy to find with Google Maps. It was about 3/4 full but I was served quickly. I ordered Paneer burger, chips, plain lassi and a flat white. The menu is short but very pleasant. The brilliant thing about this place is it's a coffee shop and Indian 'street food' outlet. I find that a great combo. Of course, 'street food' these days is rarely the street food, prepared simply on the street in front of you, that some of us are familiar with from travelling, but no need to be precious about it! My order came to around £10 which is fine by me. Now onto the problems .... so the lassi arrived and instead of plain it was clearly mango. I didn't really mind, but the Mongo one is quite a bit more expensive. Whether I got someone else's order I dunno. Likely just a mistake. Next the coffee. It was too hot and rather bitter. Often the two go together. I've had worse and was about drinkable after about ten minutes of sitting. They can do better with a minor adjustment I think. Then my burger arrived but no chips. They were coming I was told but they never did. After eating the burger, which was really excellent, drinking the superb lassi and sipping the coffee I needed to be on my way. I went to the counter and said to forget the chips. There were profuse apologies, which was fine. Off I went but was chased by a staff member who insisted they give me a refund. I wasn't bothered but went back and the owner (I think) apologised again. This was very nice. As I mentioned, they care! So this place is an essential visit if you're in and around the Wolverhampton centre. It's five minutes from the St George tram stop. I will certainly pop in again next time I visit Wolverhampton. The lassi is magnificent. Probably the best I've ever had. The burger is first class. The coffee so-so but I'm hard to please. They really need to reduce the temperature and not burn the grind. Staff are first class - just really nice, friendly, helpful people: the kind of folks you can build a business on. This place deserves success and judging by the customers in there I think they'll do fine!

It was so good that I'm tempted to say it wasn't and demand that I go again, for a second opinion!…read more The ambiance of Aalto restaurant is relaxing whilst still buzzing with life and energy. The live music added to the ambiance, providing a soothing and pleasurable background to the meal. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, modern, tasteful and welcoming. I loved that we were sat on a large round table - I'm rather a fan of round tables as I feel it creates a better social vibe, and always supports odd numbers without so poor soul sitting opposite Hollow Man (which, lets face it, would put you off your food!) As for the feast itself. Well, let's start with the menu. It was the perfect size, with six options in each category, so plenty of choice without it been too baffling. All the same, I did find it hard to choose, as so many of the options were deeply appealing. For starters, I settled on the Beetroot & Goats Cheese Tart, which was served on a bed of rocket, with walnuts and balsamic vinegar. It was a feast for the taste-buds, and light enough not to make my main course option of Roast Lamb appear too daunting. The lamb, as with the starter, was beautifully presented, and there was a lovely selection of vegetables served with it and they were cooked too perfection. The main was delicious, and plentiful. You will not go hungry after a meal at Hotel La Tour, tough you may need a little lie down! So as not to cheat ourselves from the full experience, we all had dessert too. Again, I was a little torn between a couple of the options, and decided in the end that Spiced Crème Brûlée with Shortbread Biscuits just sounded too good a treat to miss. I was right! With food that tantalizes the eye, stimulates the taste buds and is delivered with a wonderful side portion of fabulous service, Hotel La Tour provides a fabulous menu at reasonable prices, and is well worth a visit. I shall be going again.

Friendly staff. Inspiring space. The owner obvious has passion, love and care for what she or he does. I love supporting places like this! Well done. The raspberry cronut was out of this world. Insane flavor but not overwhelmingly sweet, moist, perfect. The eggs benedict was killer. The Korean chicken was one of the best chicken dishes I have ever had. And I do believe the fries that came with it were the best fries I have ever had. Perfect crispness but soft. Beautiful cup of coffee. Cons. -Although it wasn't completely full, there was a 30 minute wait (which was totally fine with us). I don't think their kitchen can handle the size of their restaurant. But no biggie. -it's a bit on the pricey side for the amount of food you get. For example, the Korean Fried chicken dish, it was £10 and there were only four small pieces of chicken (plus fries and kimchi). However, the masterful flavor and texture of the chicken made it worth it. -the millionaire cronut was a bit dry. The flavors were decent.

Coffee is apparently good, I had the banana cream shake (because I have a milkshake problem) and that was great, thick and made with fresh banana- not a thin syrup job with a lazy bit of squirty cream I keep experiencing. Tonnes of veggie, vegan and gf options- some rather sexy looking pizzas (2 for £10 in offer times) a good number of breakfast options served until 12.30pm, and a breakfast section until 4. I had the buddha bowl, with added halloumi which was great- especially the broccoli, the beetroot hummus and the chilli jam. Opposite me was the harissa chicken salad which was apparently also rather lovely, and came with lovely flat bread- we were too full for cake, which was the actual reason why I wanted to go- oops! Staff were lovely, place is clean, only issue is it is quite loud, so not a place for private conversations.
