One of the best delis ever ever. Their pickles are AMAZING and come from a giant jar. The sandwiches have the juiciest meat and the bread is perfectly crisp. I'm picky about my Cubans and I loved theirs. The meat was thin and there were enough pickles! They have a bunch of tables but they're almost always busy. I came here after running the Bix ready to eat some good food! It was busy and had lots of staff working to move the line. They had many sandwich and side options, hot and cold. We were visiting Davenport for the day, and a friend of ours recommended The Village Corner Deli for lunch. The service was great, all of their employees are so nice and friendly. I ordered the "smoked turkey Rueben" and it was delicious. They put a lot on their sandwiches for toppings. They also offered kids meals which came with a sandwich, drink, chips and cookie. Their food tasted great and they offer very good prices. I would absolutely come back here if I'm visiting the area again! read more

Ok! How have I not been here before? Maybe because I don't find myself in the village often, but from now on, I'll make the special trip. I went on a Wednesday at noon and there was a line to the door, but it went fast! The employee taking orders was super nice and professional- I asked his opinion and he happily obliged, suggesting the Turkey Reuben and macaroni salad. After I paid he could have moved on to the next person, but before he did he pointed out where the napkins, silverware, drinks, etc were, and told me where I could find an empty table (near the back) knowing it was my first visit. A little kindness like that is not something you see often anymore in service staff, and it's beyond appreciated. Shortly after taking a seat my food was brought out to me. Toasted to perfection, my sandwich was amazing!! I also loved the macaroni salad. Did I mention this was only $12? Such a great deal. There was an employee walking around and clearing/cleaning tables. Asking everyone how their meal was, I just love that! He also got me a box for my leftover sandwich. While on the road to Iowa with family for a quick overnight trip, I pulled up the Yelp app to see what top rated spots there are in Davenport for easy carryout. Soups, sammies and salad seemed like a crowd pleaser so it was hard to be top-rated Village Corner Deli as our selection. For me, it was all about the ham and bean soup. It was the creamiest ham and bean soup I've ever had and the smokey ham really took it to the next level. My half sandwich and half soup combo also featured a thick turkey Reuben sandwich filled with coleslaw, Provolone and sliced Turkey. I would recommend both of these items. In fact, if I were to return, I would probably order a pint of the soup to go for later... no joke, it's that good. The only reason I'm pained to hold back on the fourth star was that the staff wasn't wearing masks while preparing orders. It's such a simple step to keep all involved safe and confident in what they're ordering. I look forward to visiting again one day and next time, I'll come prepared to order a big stash of the soup for the road. read more

I did a BYO sandwich with three meats and there's plenty of options to choose from. There's a variety of toppings too including garlic mayo. Wow wow wow! This spot lives up to all the wonderful reviews and 5 stars! It's located close to Rock Island (10 min drive) but totally worth it. Arrived and there was a line but it moved quickly. Looked at the menu before I got to the register and order the Monte Cristo with a side of soup which was Buffalo chicken wing. The sandwich was amazing and piping hot! Tons of meat and a nice French toast type of bread. This is a HOT sandwich which is a plus for me. Who knew something so simple can be so delicious. The Buffalo soup had a mild kick to it and tasted great. Btw, the food comes out FAST. I'll definitely be coming back here more times before I head back to Maryland.
