Stumbling upon Brew In The Village we were impressed by their offering, both food/drink and service. A friend and I had brunch/lunch here and the menu is a curated selection of tasty bites. I had the BREWschetta and it really hit the spot that I was looking for in a small bite. In particular, the balsamic was delicious! I also had two sour beers (cans) and they were local and great. If service is a bit slow, give them a break, place is often crowded with tables constantly turning, but they never rush you. 2 people ate lunch for $33; a reuben sandwich and a shrimp po'boy sandwich with sides and soda. That is awesome! The corned beef was a little tough but the sauce was good. I always loved eating at Brew, great food, and the staff is always pleasant. however, last night i had an absolutely terrible experience. There was no one sitting inside, but there were 4 tables outside that had already been served. it took 10 minutes for us to get a drink order, another 20 for us to order. and over 40 minutes for us to get our 2 sandwiches and an appetizer. which all got brought out at the same time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]we were the only table out there, sitting in the dark because they didn't turn the lights on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] my sandwich, which i always order, tasted like someone had sprayed cleaning chemicals on it. i took 3 bites and threw it in the trash. we immediately asked for boxes and ended up throwing the rest away at home because we felt bad. what really topped it off was the table next to us which was covered in drinks, got their drinks for free. we got nothing off our bill after this experience. read more

We had 7 in our party. I ordered 1/2 greek salad and cranberry, turkey Brie sandwich. The salad was okay. The sandwich was amazing. We had hummus and veggies, bruschetta, and Korean street tacos as appetizers. They were great! The place was friendly and our waitress was attentive and always timely. Good came out quickly. I had a craft beer which had Interesting flavor. My grandson got a pretzel. It was huge with 3 different dips he loved it. The other grandson got grilled cheese bites which he finished every bite. Down over by the river, it's the cute lil corner across the firehouse. Perfect lunch date location on a sunny afternoon. Our server was friendly and accommodating. I got their half and half special, specifically their brewben (their specialty Rueben) with a signature salad. The brewben and spicy Italian are both hot sandwiches and definitely worth the wait. I wish I could've tried more bc everyone around us got good food too so I'll definitely stop over again when I'm in the area. read more

They have a decent beer list, but since it was breakfast, I just stuck to water. I had the breakfast tacos. Huge portions and I didn't finish. Eggs were super fluffy. This place is a gem! We just moved to the area and met up with friends here after seeing Nate Bargatze in Peoria. And this was the perfect spot! Our waiter was great, funny and honest. Our chicken pesto flatbread and jalapeno popper flatbread was fantastic! It's even good cold the next day. We also really enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms. We enjoyed it so much, we went back here again when my in-laws came to visit last weekend. Everyone loved their dishes. i should have known by the attitude O got from two different servers when I first came in. In hindsight, go with your gut. I regret spending my hard earned cash at this place. I was told to choose between Brew and another place. Based on the reviews we decided to go here. Upon entering, there was no greeting or anyone wanting to seat me, I asked one of the staff if she could accommodate a party of 8. She looked at me and said yeah. I looked around inside and said - so just help myself to a table, or...? We don't have room outside for 8. That's fine, I prefer inside since it's hot. Sure. You can sit inside. You can't move the tables though. Ok that's fine, we can sit at these two four tops and we won't move them. And then she just walked away. So I asked a server sitting at the bar folding setups. Is it ok, can you accommodate 8? Sure but don't move the tables. We won't move the tables! Then I grabbed the two four tops and was told again - don't move the tables. We won't! Then we waited. And the server got around to getting us menus - she tossed them on our tables as she walked by. Then she finally got around to the drink order. I asked what IPAs they had but she was already gone. Dropped off our waters. Walked by our tables and literally threw the straws on our tables and didn't say a word. By this time I asked my wife - what do you think so far? Well the server is not very pleasant. At that point I said Let's leave. I don't stay at a place like this and am not embarrassed to walk out. BUT we had my 80 yr old mom and a few little ones that wanted to rest and get a bite to eat. I was told we are staying. So then I even TRIED to engage with our server: I went to the bar to get a cup of water and said Let me know if there is anything we can do to help you out. It looks like you just got slammed by the lunch crowd. Places my water up on the bar. Here you go Hun. And walked away. Wow, maybe she's hard of hearing? No we just placed a drink order with her and she took it all down. Long story short - I SERIOUSLY considered stiffing her on the tip. But I'm not like that, so she got 15% in the day that I start at 20% tip and give more for exceptional service. Too bad because there was nothing wrong with the food (3 stars) or beverages. But the attitude of server was a deal breaker. I will NEVER go to this place again. And I wish I would've adhered to my #1 restaurant rule. If they are too busy to provide good service, take my business elsewhere. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy some apps with a friend. We started with the Brewschetta which I was obsessed with. I loved the avocado and garlic mayo on there, and best of all, the crostini was perfectly toasted. We hadn't planned on ordering another item until the table behind us ordered a Jumbo Pretzel... and then we couldn't resist! My wife and I went for dinner last night. We got the gigantic hot pretzel and shared the salmon Cobb salad. The pretzel was amazing. I wish I had taken a picture of it, because it was huge. You know how microwaving bread makes it hard and chewy? This pretzel had not been microwaved. They had 3 dipping sauces: some kind of cheddar sauce that was "meh", a hot mustard (wife said horseradish) sauce, and cranberry-mustard that was terrific. We both wanted the salmon Cobb salad, but thought it would be too big after eating that pretzel. So we asked if we could split it. They said no problem. You know how, usually, when you ask to split something, they just bring you an extra plate? Well Brew in the Village does it better. They split it in the kitchen and brought it out in two different dishes. The ranch dressing was thin, so it was easier to pour on later and adjust the amount you wanted. It had a fairly strong dill flavor and was one of the best ranch dressings I've had. I don't know how much salmon, bacon and egg they put in the full-sized salad, but they put plenty of each into each of our bowls. The salad was delicious. The smoked salmon was a good choice because it was very good. I've not had better salmon on a salad before, anywhere. We haven't had it, but I hear their Sunday brunch is very good, too. I've had one of their focaccias before, on a previous visit, and it was good too. read more

I can confidently say that this is one of the TOP 3 brunch spots in the Quad City area. Their breakfast sandwiches and breakfast flatbread are made of high quality bread and fresh ingredients. This isn't microwaved food. The flavors also just work- well balanced and tasty. The ambiance is chill. People just come and eat and chat in an aesthetically pleasing corner of the city. I also like that it's accessible to a bunch of other stores and restaurants and the park, so you can grab and go or walk around after. Service is nice- never too much and never too little. And above all- they've always been CONSISTENT. I've never had a bad experience here and I've been here A LOT! Definitely a top tier brunch spot; highly recommend. read more

Best option in the QC for a small and cozy neighborhood bar with DELICIOUS, high quality, and fresh bites. My family and I are committed to trying every item on the menu. It checks the box for the place you go to when you want to get out of the house for a casual meal but don't want to spend too much money. Great variety of food options, and great drink selection. The high quality food they're able to pump out of that tiny kitchen is really impressive. The staff is great and you can see how hard they work preparing the food and taking care of you.
