Yay, a natural foods/gf foods/essential oils etc shop! It's small inside but is trying to have a good selection, especially of essential oils, homeopathy, supplements, natural meats, (chicken livers!) frozen foods, snacks, chocolate, and bulk herbs (Frontier) .... they even had some organic limes and sweet potatoes. Two women were kind enough to ask if they could help me find anything. Thank you! When I went to buy some sauerkraut-type vegetables in a jar, there was black fuzzy mold, like, the bad kind, all over the container. I adore VFP as each and every staff member is incredibly helpful, personable and fully supportive and friendly!! I had switched to VFP many, many years ago and I am so glad that I did as I have always had top notch service with each and every script, which says a lot as I have 10+ scripts!! I enjoy utilizing their after hours call in, which I appreciate tremendously as there are times that I have 5+ refill requests which may take 3+ minutes on refills which is cumbersome. Though, I did love their grocery store too, so choosing their pharmacy wasn't a stretch for me!!! read more

This is the best place in BCS to shop for anything healthy. They have groceries, vitamins/supplements and personal items like soap, lotions and more. It's our only natural/health store here. The people are so friendly and willing to help. They are also knowledgeable about health. This is my favorite store in BCS. read more

Wow, even though this place has a great selection of organics it would be wise to stay away if you're a POC. I entered the store on my phone and was still approached with little disregard to the fact that I was on the phone. I was constantly followed even though the square footage of the store is tiny. I've been there before and I give everyplace three tries. Well third time was the last, there was actually an older woman in the store that needed help and they ignored her for the first half of her visit. Finally she stopped one of the gentlemen who summoned someone from the back because he couldn't help. He did however help himself to following me around the store. How creepy. If you have issues with personal space this is not the location. It's small and with the staff following so closely it gets really weird. read more

I always wondered why the original Village Foods didn't simply carry only organics, gluten-free foods, and other natural health stuff--that was the only reason I ever went there, for those kind of things--so I'm really glad to see that they've finally owned that specialty. You can find a lot of great products here, but the only reason I'm docking a star is for the checkout line. I've been in 2-3 times now, and every time I get stuck behind someone who happens to know (who I presume to be?) the owner or pharmacist, and they wind up talking for quite a while, and I'm just standing there, trying to buy only a few specialty items I made a specific trek across town to get, waiting. The owner/pharmacist seems like a sweetheart who is clearly loved by and a friend to a lot of people, but....I sort of wish there was a line for people who want to chat, and people who just want to buy their kombucha and bottle of supplements and leave, haha. Anyway, they've only been open in this new location for a month or two, so I'm sure they'll work this out, but otherwise it's a great store and one to check out, especially if you're looking for a myriad of gluten-free options! *UPDATE* They fixed the checkout line issue, and they're still friendly and stocking good products, so I'll give them that fifth star :). read more

We are traveling thru the area to check out A&M and my little brother was beginning to feel ill from the lack of nutrition. He's on a very limited diet due to multiple medical conditions and he can barely swallow food. This store happened to have the right frozen vegan products he is able to eat, however he can only eat them if they are microwaved and we were worried we'd be out of luck. I asked one of the pharmacy staff and they were willing to use their personal microwave to heat up some food for my brother. Very pleased with the service, thank you :-) read more

My kids and I come here every week. Love the organic/holistic options. Everyone is always super helpful and I get asked a few times by employees if I need any help. They are so accommodating and have even offered to take my groceries to the car when I was having a hard time managing the groceries and little ones. I love supporting local businesses and when all the employees are sweet and helpful, this place is a winner in my book! read more

This is the only pharmacy I use. Even though the hours are more limiting than some of the big corporate stores, it's MORE than worth it to be treated like a valued customer rather than an annoying mosquito buzzying around! I recommend them to everyone I get the chance to. Justin is the pharmacist who is there most of the time and is very knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions and help! An oasis of sanity in a community that has decided COVID-19 no longer exists. Staff are all in masks and gloves. They actually enforce an occupancy policy (instead of just putting up signs). Customers for the most part are also taking this hideous disease seriously, and by and large wear masks. The store is well stocked with essentials. Kudos to Jim Lewis and company for creating an environment to shop in that feels safe and comfortable. read more

Much larger than it appears from the outside. I had no idea this place was even there (somewhat hidden). I just happen to have been leaving St. Joseph and just happen to have glanced over. I scanned some items that I purchase at Amazon and pricing is actually better here! I took of 1 star because even though the staff was knowledgable and very friendly...there was a guy in the front (of Asian decent?) who was just not friendly or personable. I suppose it's me being a Southerner but if I'm friendly to someone it wouldn't hurt to get a smile or...something as he is representing the store. read more

I have lived in Bryan for a year and a half, they don't have a Whole Foods in the area, but this little store is like a mini version of Whole Foods with the selection they have. But not just the selection makes them so great, the employees and the manager, are such sweet kind people!!! They take great care of their guests and do what they can to take care of us, especially during the coronavirus outbreak. I love this place and will always support them! read more

I hated to see the big store close but I'm glad they at least kept a small selection of natural foods available along with the pharmacy. Always friendly service and knowledgeable about supplements to recommend for different ailments. Updated 2/28/18 Village Foods always provides 5 star customer service. I had been looking all over town for Gluten-free pie crusts. They had just what I needed. So friendly & helpful too!

They gave me a prescription with someone elses name on it. When I tried to return it they said that the person who's name was on the medicine didn't pick it up so they gave it to me, but did not change the label. They refused to refund my money. I'm taking my business elsewhere and suggest others do the same. No, I'm not taking someone else's medicine! read more

I finally visited the new Village location and was blown away! It's all of the great stuff that made Village special - lots of organic/natural/hard to find brands, and tons of vegetarian and vegan stuff. They had Heidi Ho and Miyoko's (Miyoko's!!!!) non-dairy cheeses, I thought I had to drive back to Houston for that stuff! They still have a ton of bulk and hard to find spices, gluten free flours, vegan junk food, kale chips, and a huge supplement section that I didn't pay too much attention to because vegan cheese! It's very neat, bright, and nicely laid out, with room to walk with a small cart, unlike some other natural food stores in the area. I grabbed a few specialty items for some things I'm making this week that I couldn't even find at the fancy grocery store down at Tower Point. I like this location a lot better, and it's still walking/biking distance from my house just like the old location - I'm excited to chow down what I bought so I can go back and shop some more! read more
