We were in town this morning and needed a place to let the dogs out. This place has good reviews. It a really different dog park. It's in-between a apartment high rise and a mall parking lot. There's plenty of parking available ,the park had poopie bags,and water available . The surface is artificial grass. Which I like if it's washed down once in a while. This place had a distinct urine smell. I also saw plenty of fresh droppings of poop. I hate it that people who own dogs don't care enough to pick up after their dogs. The positive is the large size. Plenty of room to run. The dogs that were there, both large and small. They were all friendly and social.we were there for over a hour and not one aggressive dog showed up. I'll read more

Great location and nice size park. It's open to all sizes. Plenty of parking across the way by the gym. Some drawback: some people don't pick up after thier dogs. I always walk along the gate inside when I come with my dog and end up picking up at least 2 big piles of poop. So be cautious. I also wouldn't advise coming on a warm day/afternoon. The smell of pee/poop can linger. Not sure how often the artificial grass is getting a deep clean or power wash but it smell horrible on warmer days. read more

This is a great park for dog owners who are worried about cleaning each time after coming from parks. Its all fake grass and clean in general.There are some corners which are smelly from dog pee. This our go-to park when it rains. Puppy energy must be exerted, rain or shine! Although it's really just a glorified dog run, it's just big enough for them to move around. It's nice that there are two sets of double gates, so dogs can't escape when people come and go. They have turf instead of grass. It kind of smells, but not too bad when it rains. I also stumble upon sprinkler heads, so maybe they hose it down. They have a nice dog fountain. Looks metal so hopefully it doesn't hold too much bacteria or doggie germs. Rinse it long enough and it looks clean. They have poop bag dispensers and trash cans handy. During the rain it tends to have a nice crowd. Pup and I really like the dog walkers who double the play population when they show up with 10 dogs. Currently there are two different walkers showing up, so it's a good crowd. read more

I have been to this dog park a few times. Not a lot of shade, but it's clean and a nice dog park overall. However, there is a dog owner (of a Samoyed) who was abusive to my golden retriever. My golden retriever was trying to play with his Samoyed, but apparently this owner did not want other dogs to play with his dog (then why take him to the dog park...?). His Samoyed did not seem bothered when my golden jumped on him, but this guy went up to MY golden retriever and forcibly yanked his collar. I was so upset. I was shocked, speechless. Neither dog was being aggressive, yet this guy was abusive towards my dog. This guy did not apologize and started walking towards the gate. My golden retriever started walking towards the gate too, but this guy had no regard and was careless in opening the gate, allowing other dogs to escape, but this guy didn't care. He just wanted to leave and didn't care that other dogs could leave the dog park unleashed. read more

Cute small little dog park that is convenient for those that live in the surrounding apartments. The park is well-maintained and is covered in turf so my dog was pretty clean after running around in the rain. During my visit, I could see leftover poop particles in certain spots so I just wish that the park would provide a watering can for dog owners to rinse off the leftover poop. It's in a bit of a strange location, surrounded by apartments and a large shopping center, but the park itself is pretty nice. Some seating for owners, but mostly a fully fenced in, fake grass park, with enough size to satisfy even the larger/faster dogs out there. While this place would never be enough on its own for my Vizsla, it was perfect during a day of bopping around town, and needing a break. Post dog-tainment, there's a walkable Starbucks nearby for the always needed caffeine fix. There's no separation between big and small dogs, so keep that in mind all you small dog owners. Thankfully, the day I was there everyone was cool. There's still the odd poop pile hanging around due to the ubiquitous negligent owner, but all-in-all, this is a solid dog park. read more

The park itself is pretty, fake grass, plenty of space to run around but not too big. Dog sizes aren't separated so keep that in mind. Also make sure to bring a hat cause there's no shade. I wanted to like this park but the reviews are true- it stinks and some owners don't pick up after their pets. Incoming rant: First time I went with my puppy off peak hours at 12 noon, there were only 2 other owners present on a Tuesday. One owner was diligent in cleaning but the other could've cared less about the poop train his dog left. He eventually cleaned it up but only after the other person told him. We've also noticed that there were already number 2s laying around not picked up from earlier that day. That said, please clean up after your dogs. read more

I'm dog-sitting for a week and the little poodle-mutt guy seemed like he needed some running-around time (without leash) but I'm worried that I would lose him since I'm not his real Mom (I'm afraid he will run looking for his real parents).... so I looked for a dog park and found this place on yelp. I guess, being not a pet-owner, I didn't realize about this place despite me frequenting the area! Just like what everyone said here.. the park is clean and fairly new. The grass is fake but dogs seem to love it and my poodle-mutt didn't mind it was fake. There are tables and chairs to sit and a few interesting looking dog statues inside the gated park. There is also a water fountain poop bags provided. The major complain from me is that there is no separate area for big and small dogs. My little guy nearly got tackled by this gigantic dog as soon as we got there and a few more times when we were there the first time! The owner stopped him but come on!! It was so scary! The big dog didn't mean harm, he's just a lot bigger in size and my little guy is just too little for him!!! but he didn't want to leave him alone for a while! Nobody got hurt but enough to scare me! Certainly it would be better if there is a separate area for big and little dogs. We came back the next day and there were fewer (big) dogs and play time was a lot more fun as the dogs were about the same size and we're playing nicely, no rough housing, just playing tags and running around :) Anyway... if you're a pet owner, certainly it's not a bad place for some play time, just watch after your pup to make sure nobody gets hurt. read more

One of the few dog parks in the Bay Area. The big plus of this park is that it isn't all dirt - this is our go-to park for poor weather to avoid a mud-covered pooch! This park is plenty sizeable for dogs to run in and play fetch. There are almost always a few dogs here at any time of the day. The owners that come here are friendly and responsible for the most part. The artificial turf is well-maintained, and owners pick up after their dog. For some reason, there are a bunch of large rocks in one corner. More of a hazard than anything else. Good amount of seating, working water fountains, trash cans, and poop bags available. read more

To be completely honest, the only reason why i didn't give this place 5 stars is the fact that they do not have a separation between big and small dogs. The park itself is brand spanking new with the nice fake grass, water fountain for the pups, and plenty of seating for the humans. I have brought my husky here since he was little but not sure if we can go back after the incidents that happened last night. There is a smaller Asian woman who brings her St. Bernard here frequently and he is extremely aggressive and has been attacking dogs (someone told me he also attacked a 3 y/o child a few nights prior). Last night he attacked my dog and two others, and wouldn't let dogs into the park. He just sat at the gates and showed teeth, barked, and growled and people literally had to leave. This woman is half the size of her dog and is unable to restrain him. I had to hold her dog off mine until they stopped fighting. Please watch out for this woman and if you see her be very very cautious, she takes no responsibility for her animal and thinks that him being aggressive is not a problem. She only left last night after letting her dog attack three dogs total, and being yelled at by every single person at the park. It's a shame because we love this dog park and are friends with a lot of the regulars. :( read more

Ninja and I got invited to this dog park by a fellow frenchie on Instagram and small pawty quickly turned into a bay area frenchie meetup. We came here last week and there were 10 frog dogs running around. We had an absolute blast. More importantly, this dog park is amazing. It's big and spacious. All turf. The art structures are awesome. We can't get enough of the life size fire hydrant and the dog bone bench is just plain cool. We'll be back for sure! read more

Visited this dog park with my pup not because of the reviews but rather...because I just want to check out the place. The park is tucked away and if you didn't know where to look, you may not know there's a dog park here at all. I visited here with my pup on a Saturday early afternoon and the first thing I noticed was the lack of people there. Perhaps because it was a hot day and there is hardly any shade at this park. (I have heard from other dog owners that this park does get busy...but I have never seen it so). Since there were only 2-3 dogs at the park, I didn't run into over crowdedness or other issues while at the park. First thing you'll notice at this park is...the smell. This park doesn't have real grass and overtime (probably due to lack of maintenance) all the urine just sits at the bottom layer of the AstroTurf...and well, you can imagine the ammonia odor...I imagine the smell will be worse as the temperature gets hotter. This park is decent size, in my opinion, and got enough room that my 62lb Lab Mix can have a ball running around playing/chasing other dogs. It also have a poop bag dispenser and water fountain for both pups and their owners. Overall, my pup had a blast here. Would I visit again? Yes. Would I breathe through my mouth the entire time? Yes. For those owners who don't like sandy dog parks, this may be the place for you...if you don't mind the smell. read more

I have come to this park regularly since 2015. Post pandemic there seems to be a trend of more frequent instances with pet parents of bigger dogs not actively mitigating issues when their dogs get more assertive with the little pups. Today was likely my last effort to see if it was safe. Example today: A dog about 50 pounds was aggressively following my dog and my dog was almost pinned down by his swatting at one point if I did not step in. The owner kept her hands in her coat pockets as it was getting worse. I braced my little dog (11 pounds) between my legs and he stood there as the large dog tried to get between my legs and arms. I asked the pet parent many times if she could hold her dog by his harness while I remove my dog. She instead took about a minute coaxing him to the other side. As predicted. I had to carry my dog and grab my second dog. The large dog then came towards us and tried to bite my dog while in my arms. For pet owners with bigger dogs who aren't good with little dogs I highly recommend going to a divided park so little ones are safe from injury. Dogs will be dogs but the bigger ones who don't understand when another dog is asking for space can do severe, irreversible damage for a little one. It's just too too risky for my taste and I want my dog to not develop a fear for large dogs. read more

I love how the park has fake grass so your dog can't get dirty! It was pretty much the main reason I came to check out this park. The park is located next to shopping plazas and a really nice apartment complex. It's also pretty small so I wouldn't come here if you wanted to throw the ball around with your dog. But it's big enough for your dog to run around with others. There's also nice benches and statues placed in the park that makes it look pretty cool. Down side is that there's no separation for big and little dogs so dog owners should be aware of their dog's actions and capabilities. Overall, definitely bringing my dog to this park because of the cleanliness and fake grass. read more

This blight of a mis-managed private dog park should just be closed. Allow me to list the reasons why: 1] The recent addition of dog killing benches, or should I just say steps. They just installed benches that practically abut the fence. If you have a large dog that likes to escape, these new benches are essentially steps that will allow your dog to hop up, vault the fence, and run right into that distracted driver driving on San Antonio. Or El Camino. 2] The ever broken dog watering fountain that they installed right next to the garbage can. Enjoy the smell of pungent roasting dog poop as you act as though you're a contestant on Big Brother. There is no foot pedal. If you want your dog to get water, you have to press that button with your hands. Very painful for somebody with aging arthritic hands. 3] Do I smell something burning? Yes I do. It's my dog's paws. To celebrate summer and the numerous heat waves, the private park management team decided to remove the umbrellas because as expensive as they were - multiple thousands of dollars per umbrella - they got broken by riff raff ALL THE TIME, and were thus removed. During the summer, heat wave or not, don't bother coming to the park after 10;00 a.m. or before 6:00 p.m., The artificial grass surface emanates heat, and it gets so hot it will burn your dog's paws. During the day, all the dogs hang out under the broken chairs seeking any relief from the dog park that they can find. They cannot play. It's too hot. 4] I cannot not mention the chairs. All have broken seats. 5] Weeks ago, they removed the outer gate to the safety entrance. It has not been replaced. Now, it is not a safety entrance. Let's face it. They just want your dog to run away. 6] The management team is super rude. Especially the woman. I would tell you her name, but when I asked her for it when she was at the park one day, she refused to tell me. Even the construction guy today that was installing the bench says she's rude to him, and he works for her! Call the City of Mountain View City Council at the City Clerk's Office at 650-903-6304. They mandated the benches, but could not possibly have asked the management to install them where they're installed. And, ask for shade too. This is truly an untenable situation. read more

I understand people's concern with smell and cleanliness but this park has multiple drains as well as many sprinklers that help was away the urine underneath. They also have workers come in twice a week and spray the entire park down with a hose and he does a great job. As well as the above actions they take to clean the park they also have a company come in with an all natural enzyme based deodorizer. Could it smell better, could people be better about picking up after their dogs, of course but in all its not that bad but worse in summer. One of the best things about this park is not the space it's self but the people and dogs that come and stay here. Not all the dogs are always on their best, including mine, but most of us are very involved in the correcting of said behaviour. The positive side of the smaller size, there is a bad side, is the amount of socialzing that it requires dogs to take part in and not only with dogs but people too. As for the sculptures, can you say designed for humans and not dogs, they are worthless for all intended purposes. The park unfortunately was designed by none dog owners and more for visual pleasure than canine fun. The size of the park, as well as a positive for socializing, is to small to allow dogs the space to get away and emotionally calm down. The park is not perfect but for the winter months there is no replacing the benefit of astro turf for cleanliness. In the summer months though it can increase the temperature of the park so be sure to take measures to keep your dog cool and safe. read more

Great dog park. Especially at night - most people bring their dogs after 5pm-8:30pm. There are beautiful string lights that keep it bright at night. Mixed sizes so all one park for it and small dogs, so it's not great for shy dogs. Lots of puppies though that are socializing. read more

What a fun place to bring your dog, with never a dull moment! There are always tons of dogs here, of different shapes and sizes, all playing together. Love that they provide bags, a water fountain, and a water bowl for dogs that are a bit unsure what to do with the water fountain. The park is the perfect size to keep track of your dog while still letting her get some really good exercise. The astroturf hasn't bothered any dogs that I've seen-- all the dogs just seemed to be having a blast. And all the people are always super nice there, too! read more

All the good and the bad about this dog park has been said by previous reviewers. I just wanted to add one thing. There are many small dogs who go there. And, some of the owners treat this place as their private backyard. They bring their squeaky balls or toys JUST for their own dogs, and they actually tell others to return the balls as that's "private." I have a dog who loves squeaky balls. This dog happens to be fast and agile so he gets to the balls before the dogs of these very private people get to them. So, I have been told off quite a few times that I must restrain my dog, I must return the ball, I must get my dog far from their dogs yadi yada ... I hope people who read this post will somehow stand up for poor dog owners like me and let those very private people who bring their own private toys know that "hey, this is a PUBLIC dog park!" Secretly, I am hoping that those who think this is their private backyard and are bringing private toys and not allowing other dogs to touch their private toys will read this, and know that they should really try to be nicer, and not bring in "private" toys. read more

This park could be a great park IF they had it cleaned. The stench of urine is so overpowering it makes your eyes water, even with a mask on. Under the few tables they have is about a solid inch of dried urine that make them impossible to sit at. We started going to the park about four months ago and the stench was bad then, we left for a couple months and came back to a park that was 50x worse. If it's hot outside? Forget about it. Imagine a Port-a-potty the size of a small park, sitting in the blazing heat and and no one cleaning it out and no little air freshener to soften the blow. That's the smell that hits you. I took my five month old frenchie here during my lunch break, since it was the closest to my work, and, boy, do I regret that decision. Maybe I missed something, but this dog park is pretty much the worst. Aside from her falling in love with a very gentle Doberman, I really have noting great to say. Oh, there was a lot of parking. The park was small, which was fine, but I did not get the impression that the park was actually intended for dog use. It seemed like it was designed more so with humans in mind, and that's just not worth my time when I'm bringing my dog to a dog park. The tables and chairs are obstructing much of the play area. I'm not sure if I went at the wrong time or if the hand full of owners that happened to be there were unusual for this park, but both the owners and dogs were anti-social or clique-y or general giving off the air of a high school cafeteria. Now don't get me wrong, I don't expect people to talk to me or dote over my puppy, but the owners disinterest in their dogs and high interest in gossiping with one another, caused for a group of highly anti-social dogs. Out of about 12 dogs, 2 wanted to play with other dogs: my dog and the Doberman. That was really sucky. Regardless, the park smelled like urine. Like real bad. And those same owners didn't clean up their dog's number 2's. There were 3 big piles of poo that I counted before I gagged on the smell of urine cooking into the AstroTurf. I've been here a couple times and its a decent dog park. Definitely some pros and cons: Pro: Good mix of dogs, big and small, and all that I've met are friendly. Dog owners are attentive to their dogs and pick up after them. The park also has cute statues and doggie bags. It also has two entrances/exits which I'm a big fan of. Cons: It smells like urine. Its actually pretty overwhelming and omnipresent....once you walk in, you'll smell it. I'll be honest- thats my main complaint of this place. I forgot actually and came and was reminded of why I don't frequent the place more. FYI as a rule of thumb, I recommend not sitting on the fake grass anywhere in the park. Parking is great if u can find a spot, but I usually park in the lot across the street in the plaza with the gym and Trader Joes. Not terrible but just be careful walking across the street in this very busy plaza. While its great to be in a populated area, there are lots of cars impatiently trying to get somewhere or find a parking spot. read more

The dog park design is cute, with animal-themed art installments around for dogs and humans to jump on. It has fake grass, which is great if you don't want to have to scrub your dog down after a trip to the park, but I think it was why it smelled terrible when I went... It hasn't rained in a while... The park is an ok size and is not separated by big and small dog, so your dog may not like it if s/he is not comfortable with bigger or smaller dogs. There's plenty of parking in the mall. read more

First of all, PSA: big dogs & small dogs play together; if your dog doesn't play nice with smaller dogs then don't bring em. Fences are short, which I actually like! if your dog has a history jumping & escaping then don't bring em. Reading the reviews here, its like, some people have really high standards for their dog parks, LOL. The management removed the statues and sculptures from within the park recently, frankly I think it's better this way, now dogs have more room to chase and run. Yes the umbrellas are gone too, but that doesn't bother us since we only come after work anyway. The 'grass' does smell pretty bad but that's standard for most dog parks. I would not stand near the trash can though, haha! One time a dog walker brought 5 or 6 big dogs here to play, that was kind of annoying since the park is small. Not sure if common occurrence. Overall though this park is conveniently located for us and the regulars seem to be decent human beings and dogs. My dog always finds someone to play chase and she has a great time! Plus, there's ample parking at the 24 hr fitness lot! read more

Great dog park! We came with Nimby at 5pm and there was great lighting at night. There were lots of other dogs that were eager to play! Nimbus didn't mind the AstroTurf and loved hopping on the stones that were laying around. The only downside is that it was small for the number of dogs that were there, which ranged from 10-15 dogs. So when big dogs ran, they would always interrupt the smaller dog's play. read more
