Average hotel I put only 3 stars for two reasons. Despite…read morethe room being very nice, clean and comfortable, the hotels overpriced ( $13.95 per person) breakfast buffet was extremely disappointing. Cold scrambled eggs, fake bacon with most other items (French toast) clearly sitting for hours. We ate at 8am. As an IHG member for many years, I've not experienced such poor breakfast quality before. I expressed my disappointment upon checking out and the desk staff member stated she would add additional member points to my IHG account which she didn't. So to pay $13.95 x 2 being a IHG member for such a disappointing meal tarnished our entire stay. My wife and I went out to a local restaurant for a quality breakfast unable to eat at the hotel. Never was a credit offered to my bill and as said only a false promise to provide additional points was offered. Very poor customer service at this hotel.

If you would like air conditioning- do not book here. We walked in to our room it was at 76° and…read morethe thermostat was set at 70°. It was clear the AC was struggling. I went down to ask if anyone could check it out- I was told no. The front desk staff told me the AC was on a motion sensor. Interesting. How does it cool when I sleep? I let my friend know- who was in the room; and it was now 77°. We met people in the lobby --- that were sitting there to cool off because their room was so hot. The also had a box fan to sleep. There is no maintenance on call; or anyone available. My option was to stay there, or checkout and receive a refund, as the hotel was fully booked. We opted to leave and low and behold ... no refund. We ended up at another hotel with great AC and breakfast for the same price. But now we have a bill for a room we did not stay in. I emailed the general manager .... crickets. I would update the review to reflect any communication- but I highly doubt we will receive it.

And we think this one is going to charm you! Its southern flare meets modern opulence but has an outdoorsy twist. Epic waterfall views from the balcony, gorgeous decor, spacious bedrooms, lavish kitchen and baths, and it is all within steps of historic downtown Helena! The property is two-story new build has all the amenities from large outdoor yard filled with game and a putting green. A spa hot tub for unwinding. Tables and swings for lounging with views of the creek. A large Firepit and outdoor entertaining space. All with views of the creek! As for our unit, I entered the front door, and my jaw dropped. I followed down a long hall to find a stunning, opulent kitchen with a peninsula with seating for four, large farmhouse sink, and gorgeous grey cabinetry. It opens into the living space with a large couch and two lavish chairs. That opens to the second-floor patio that overlooks the large yard below and a view of Buck Creek and its waterfall. We sat out with champagne for hours chatting and taking in the view. Up the stairs back inside is the cutest children's loft with first mural, bunkbeds, and play area. The two bedrooms are off the main hallway. A charming second bedroom off the primary is spacious and clean. It has a bathroom adjacent with stunning black floor tiling. As for the primary, it is in a league of its own. Large king bed flanked by pendant lighting and a can't miss accent wall with a ton of textures, wood, and color. To the left is the main bathroom with two sink vanity and a walk-in shower. The town is literal steps from our unit; downtown Helena is quintessential southern charm. Quaint downtown dotted with local restaurants and a brewery, shopping, and more! We really liked the Brewery in the heart of old town, downtown Helena, Oversoul Brewing. Good beer and friendly staff with live music for the win.

It has a great view and walking to shops and restaurants. The reason for the 4 star rating is the loud train that passes by regularly day and night and I would not consider this a bed and breakfast. Breakfast is offered at an additional cost and they deliver it to your room beforehand for you to cook after you arrive.

When I called the front desk and told them my room had no pull out couch, I was assured that "every room had a pull out couch and someone would be by to show me house to access the bed." When no one showed up 15 minutes later, I called again to explain that my room still had no couch in it, but only a chair, the front desk assistant then realized she had placed me in a handicap room WITHOUT a pullout couch. I waited another 30 minutes before being placed in a correct room, only to find blood on the sheets when getting ready for bed. When I called to let the front desk know they told me someone would be by immediately to take care of it. About 5 minutes later I got a knock at the door. A maintenance worker was at the door with some folded sheets which he handed to me. He said that housekeeping was not on staff (9:30pm) and I would need to change the bed myself! Ummmmm, this was NOT my blood! I protested and eventually decided he would get himself some gloves and change the bed himself (although this was not his job and I was very thankful he did so). I'm still appalled that not only was there blood on the sheets, it that I was originally expected by staff to change them myself and this was not given a second thought.

The electronic check-in didn't work, the computer system was down, and no one had the faintest clue what rooms were clean, taken, or even assigned. We spent 1 hour and 45 minutes waiting while the general manager played hotel hide-and-seek--riding the elevator, checking rooms like a lost guest himself. Truth in lending the management did throw us a small discount but not one worth an almost two hour wait in a hotel lobby at 84 degrees. In the end, we took a downgrade just to finally get a room. Because nothing says "hospitality" like paying more and getting less--later.

Not bad, like I said, did what we needed for the night.

They told me that I was not in their system and there was no reservation. This took a while because we had difficulty communicating due to their heavy accent that was hard to understand. I then booked my room at a different hotel. On Saturday morning they called and asked why I had not come in the night before. This surprised me because if they had my phone number why had they not been able to find my reservation? When I looked at my bank statement I found they had charged my debit card $369.21 then followed it with a refund for $186.36. So, I'm out $182.85 which my bank is currently disputing. Wish me luck!

Let me just make a list to keep things simple. 1) The outside door was held open by a rock because there is no door handle on the outside. 2) Once inside, the inside door to the stairwell slams shut so hard and with such a loud bang that it shook my room and probably... no was guaranteed, to awaken everyone in the hotel. 3) There was no safety latch on the inside of the room door. 4) The sliding bathroom door was crooked and would not shut because it was off its railing. 5) I don't know when this place was last painted, but the parking lot security camera was painted over and was, apparently, never cleaned. 6) The milk at the complimentary breakfast was sour. 7) And my room key was turned off for no other reason than staff incompetence. The ONLY good thing was that the sheets were clean, so the issues here are definitely not housekeeping, it's a cheap owner who doesn't care to keep things fixed or up to code. So my star goes to housekeeping and the one night clerk who was friendly. Way to go, guys!
