This RV Park is in a convenient location, the rates are reasonable, they have a pool, all sites are level with cement pads and picnic tables with full hookups. Most sites have mature trees which is welcome in the summer The showers and bathrooms are immaculate and cleaned several times daily. Employees wear masks indoors at the guest registration area where there is a convenience store with many miscellaneous needs. The only downside is freight trains running about every hour and a half or so through the night, blowing their whistles. This is our second stay and will not be our last. read more

We stayed at the park for a few nights at a reasonable rate. How ever they fail to accommodate you. I called to ask for a weekly rate and if it's possible we could book for a week, the lady said she'll try and later informed me they couldn't. Which I could understand. The day we are set to check out I asked if we could have a late check out, the receptionist tells me she has someone checking into that lot today, mind you check in time is 1pm, and I'll be charged 10 dollars and tax. So I'm thinking ok, that's fine. If anything we were out of there before 1pm, I failed to mention to her that on their brochure says otherwise and not saying anything about a late check out fee. Other than that everything was ok. But we did check into another beautiful RV Park. read more

I stayed here on 11/12/20. Not really sure why there are so many positive reviews on this place, yet only provided 3 or 4 stars. This place is a solid 5 stars. This campground has everything you need for RV camping. The spaces were all leveI and had all the amenities you need (WiFi, cable, electric, water). I booked ahead of time and arrived later in the evening. Information on the campground and my campsite were all ready for me when I arrived and my reserved spot was easy to find. The grounds were spotless and staff took great care to provide a contactless experience (maybe the most important factor during a pandemic). Overall, it was a great place to relax, cook a good meal, and get some sleep before getting back on the road. read more

Perfect location coming down from Michigan for years to visit family. Very impressed with the upgrades the year. One of the worst parks we have stayed at. Sites are small and close together. When it rains, it becomes very muddy. They say they have Wi-Fi but it's very difficult to receive a signal and when you do, it will often crash. This park needs a major overhaul. read more

Really want RV people who happen to have motor coaches to by pass this campground. We stopped to see if they had openings for just one night. Seen at least 20 empty sites with only two that had cones. Was told at 40 ft we were to large. We could have fit in any of the empty sites. I think the real reason is they just didn't want to do the paperwork as it was almost closing time at the office. Maybe the owner should check the camera to see how many people are being turned away by potentially lazy employees. read more

We stayed here overnight while diving at Dive Alabama down the street. We stayed in the most adorable little cabin... It had two bunk beds and a full size bed, plus a desk, a rail to hang things on, and a swing outside on the porch. It was reasonably clean inside, a few spiderwebs but you are roughing it, right? ;) The bathrooms are a fair trek from where we were and there aren't many lights in the campground, so I was very thankful for the full moon when I had to make my 2am potty break. The facilities are actually really nice, in line with other KOA properties I've stayed at before. The bathrooms were very clean and while I didn't use the showers I was told they were very nice too. The pavilion we overtook for dinner was nice and big with lots of picnic tables. They were really strict about quiet hours (9pm sharp!) and parking around the campground... Basically, don't park where you're not supposed to, and you won't have a problem. read more

May 28,2020 Such a beautiful RV campground so sad we were only passing through for the night from Huntington Beach, Ca on our way to visit our son stationed in South Carolina. We did arrive after hours and the property was easy to navigate using waze. We though we would find our welcome papers but we did not, which was alright, because it was easy to figure out a spot. Our reservations was already paid in advanced so we just pick a spot. We choose spot #2 which was up front close to the bathrooms and the office. We did use the showers once we got all settled in and was happy to see clean bathrooms, the area site/park was very clean as well. Was very peaceful to stay with even a train that was in the distance was still calming. Morning came and was time to check out the office staff are very kind thank them for our stay, we did get invited to come again and was informed that it is usually their busy season but being COVID spaces were open. Thank you for the stay! Tip: to bring a non- slip floor shower mat for outside of shower. read more

Good for an overnight stay. Pool looked nice & clean. Staff was very helpful and office was also clean. Lots of various RV items for sale in case you need something. WiFi was useless. We were one row from the office and could pick up the signal but never would load the internet. Thankfully Verizon has a good signal. Sites are gravel and in need of some TLC. Several older campers that look to be long term stays at this park. read more

We stayed at the Birmingham South Campground in a 37 foot Class A pulling a toad. We arrive after closing, but the site was exactly what we discussed and allowed us to pull in and park without unhooking the toad. Much appreciated. Site (21) was level with all the hook ups conveniently located and all operated as advertised. This is not a resort park but it met our needs. It was clean and safe and we enjoyed walking around it. They do have a pool but it was not yet open. Mix on travelers and seasonal guests and the park was well laid out and was perfect for our evening walk. Not much close by besides a Home Depot, but for our 1 night stay it was fine. The staff was great to talk to on the phone with the reservation process simple. We used our Good Sam discount and saved 10%. Convenient and met all of our needs. Would definitely recommend to a friend. read more

We stayed one night and it seemed like a lot of people were doing the same thing, Every thing was nice and clean. The staff was friendly. The lady behind the desk is very serous about the 5 mile rule!! We made sure to be driving 4MPH!! But the reason for the review is the campground host. Very nice gentleman. We were having after hour issue with the electricity. He came out and changed the breaker and got the power issue fixed!! read more

This is second time we've been here on our way back from Florida and the same results. Two of the things we stop here for. Horrible! We had made reservations to stay one night. Had major electrical problems (breaker box caught on fire) and could not stay. Had to drive straight home. This park would not refund our money. I could see keeping a deposit but they kept the entire one nights stay. Never will know what the park is like. Won't be giving them anymore of my money! read more

Made this reservations a few days before our stay on the way from Florida to Chicago. The young lady who helped me on the phone was very friendly and helpful. Wonderful facilities at this park! The grounds are well-kept and the bathrooms and showers are immaculate! The showers are individual with doors and are very nice. Strong wifi here too. Very reasonable pricing as well. When we travel through again, we will stay at this RV campground! Keep up the good service! :) read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! Campground facilities are average.  Management (Tammy Johns) is rude and obsessive about their many many rules.  Including swearing at us when trying to clarify the rules (the rules do not apply to everyone at the campground).  The roads and sites are all crumbling with many holes.   It was difficult for my older parents to walk safely at this campground.  The staff was not willing to make it any handicap concessions to make their stay by us easier.  We would never stay here again and would not recommend anyone else stay here. read more

this is my second time passing thru and staying over at this campground. i really appreciate the ease of getting into the campground off the road. the sites were well maintained. the bathrooms were clean. the office staff including the on site manager, tammy, were very friendly, professional and helpful. the campground is older and has a coziness not typical of campgrounds off of the highway, mostly used for passing thru to other destinations. i will happily return here on my yearly trek form the east coast to the gulf. read more

More of a 3.5 rating but this more than met our need for a nice campground for an overnight stop on the way south. Easy on and off of I-65. The staff was friendly and efficient. The shades sites weren't fancy but were level, 50 amp full hook up pull thru sites with good cable channels. read more

The park is very beautiful I noticed many negative comments about an individual named Tammy, however, we did not have an encounter with this person so as far as our stay is concerned, we had no issues. I've never left a bad review in my life but I have to say that the manager here, Tammy Johns, is the worst person I've ever dealt with in customer service. As my dad, Steve K., stated below from our previous stay, within 10-15 minutes of getting there and setup she came over to us and was very rude telling me to move my vehicle or it could be towed. Had she just politely asked me to move, which I had already intended on doing if she would have just listened to me, this wouldn't even be an issue. I had only parked by the camper when we first got there so that I could unload my things before moving my vehicle to the overflow lot which I knew from another trip that I had to do. I forgot about not parking on the grass since I'm not used to that being a problem at most of the places we stay for at least a short period of time while unloading. She didn't give me time before she came over and started being rude. It's sad that one person can ruin a trip since the rest of the staff and facilities are good. Brian S even responded to my dad's post asking us to give them another try but Tammy refused today when I called to reserve a spot for this weekend stating that she read my dad's review and that she was going to opt out of our business. Brian, although you seem to be courteous and your facilities are good and other staff beside Tammy are nice, she is giving you a bad image to several people as you can see by her being called out by name from other reviewers as well. Take care of that issue and you have a good place here. Just a suggestion. Unfortunately from the previous review over a year ago with issues with her as well it doesn't look like it will be changing so good luck. read more

We stayed here in a 40' MH with toad. Relatively easy to access. Staff was polite and efficient during check-in. Interior roads were rough but adequate (just have to go very slow because of ruts and steepness). Some pads were paved, others were packed gravel. Many were shaded but seemed to be mostly occupied by longterm residents. Our site was without shade but satellite friendly. Did not use the laundry and bathhouse but checked on them. They were dated but very clean with many separate shower rooms. Power at our site was marginal with one leg dropping to 109v during warm periods. Wifi was better than most and was adequate for checking email and light web-surfing. Cable offered but we did not use. Many OTA stations available. There were nearby trains that created quite a bit of early morning noise. Seems best for easy highway access for short stays. We would use it again. read more
