I come to the market weekly and only have eaten here twice. My daughter was hungry so we stopped in. The food is good but prices and portions are off. The staff is super nice which makes the experience better. I think if your hungry stop in but if you can hold off for diner food somewhere else, you will get more bang for your buck. read more

We were browsing the farmers market and getting hangry when we came to this breakfast/ lunch spot. Prices seemed reasonable and there was something to satisfy each of us on the menu. I was craving chicken so went with the fried bird sandwich, added fries for $1.50 or so more. The meat was nicely breaded and still tender, but very small. The fries were pretty good but overall not a meal I would reorder. Trish was nudged into trying the aforementioned pancakes, they were very good but a smaller than normal breakfast sized portion, the 2 cakes had great flavor and texture and we wondered what happened to the third. Aidan had a bowl of chili that we were offered tastes of, lots of meat and nice bean ratio, but no heat or spice. I wondered if any actual chilis found their way into the pot. It's a very clean business with decor that may have been purchased elsewhere in this very building. Our server was friendly but not well versed in the menu options. Credit cards are accepted. It's doubtful I would dine here again unless under extenuating circumstances. read more

Plain & good food. Not much of an ambiance or plating but it goes with the whole vibe here overall. I had really good (only 2?!!) apple cider pancakes w a scrambled egg side. Vince had a chicken sandwich, which was good but on the skimpy side. My son only had the chili & a fruit cup. It was good (a touch sweet?) but definitely not a brag about menu item. Uh ... really uh. I am sitting here debating changing my 3 to a 2 but I am giving this little corner dining area inside an Amish Market place the benefit of a 'closing at 2pm' for the holiday excuse even though we are sitting down to eat at 11am. Breakfast ... well, I am one of the millions of Americans who really enjoy breakfast out even though it is a relatively simple meal to prepare at home. One reason, give me service ... take care of me on my day off and make me feel special. Fill up my coffee cup; give me a good portion of food with a nice list of options, and pay attention to me because I am paying you. First, this dining corner is not exactly a warm and fuzzy location ... well, it's not really warm on cold days because it seems to pull in the cold winds from outdoors when the relatively near by doors open. In addition, it is set basically in an Amish grocery store so don't plan on whispering sweet nothings to the love of your life enhance the dreamy look in each other's eyes. Service was clearly secondary during this visit ... the menu was sort of tossed onto the table and coffee refills were an after thought where the thinking only occurred when they heard my voice say ....'excuse me, could I have a little more coffee please.' Megan's Breakfast Burrito was rather empty ... perhaps its intended filling was already packed away for the weekend. Som here's the good part ,,,, in their collection of Smuckers' jellies and jams they had Apple Butter (Very Amish of them) packets. A nice touch. The sausage was tasty .... since meat products are sold 50 feet away you have to assume that fresh is the operative word for the meats and my pancakes were pancakes. The wait staff was gathered at the register, which is where I asked what time they were closing since it was quite obvious that they were more interested in each other. I thought that they were closing as we checked out but no they had another 2 plus hours to go. So ... uh is the answer and I'll leave this little corner with that middle of the road 3 stars but leaning downwards. My suggestion is to look around for excellence when you eat breakfast out and not just settle. read more

OMG I can't believe I've lived so close to this place all my life and have never been there before. It's AWESOME!!!!! Spent a couple hours wandering around here today, shopping, snapping pictures and picking up business cards. (incidentally, one business owner had a problem with me taking photos of his store (no he was not amish, and i never take photos of people because it's rude). he was a real a-hole about it and i told him it was free advertising and he got really snippy with me. no people skills whatsoever, what a jackass.) my shift key on my keyboard is broken so i give up, pardon the lack of capitals. anyway... most people were very cool. the stores ran the gammut of merchandise from housewares, furniture, clothing, gifts, candles, scrapbooking supplies, fabric, produce, meat, sausage, bulk candy and food, homemade food, jams, jellies, baked goods and a bunch of other things I'm forgetting. just an awesome place! i'm going to try to go back once a month because the quality of what they sell there is just outrageous, and i always try to support local mom and pop places over chains. if you're in the area and you've never been to the farm market, you seriously need to go there. now. Excellent crispy chicken sandwich. My wife had a sloppy joe sandwich. This is our go to local place. Unfortunately, they told us they are closing their doors on 7/3/2021. We will miss them. The place will be renovated for another retail area. We were told it won't be another restaurant. read more

I stop in village grille often when I'm at the market for my food shopping! I love the feeling and the waitresses are always friendly!! I usually enjoy a pork roll egg and cheese platter or chocolate chip pancakes. Both are delicious! I always enjoy their hot fresh coffee too! read more

These 'Amish' foods will go straight to your waist line because you don't work 6-10 hrs a day of manual labor harvesting/baling crops, grooming horses and laborious farm work. The Fitness equation: Lazy desk job lifestyles + this food = Heart attack + diabetes + stroke. This stuff is the wrong diet for average americans. Normally head to Columbus Mart and Reading Terminal for Amish goodies but decided to try this place out since it was a bit closer than the others. Place was small and had all the normal Amish spots with meat, bakery, pies and pretzels. We ended up getting a couple of platters with dry ribs, BBQ wings, mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. The ribs were very good but everything was average. The ladies at every stand were friendly but the longer the day went the more crowded it got so it really started to get crowded. When we don't wanna brave the huge crowds at the other places this is a good alternative. read more

I LOVE doing my grocery shopping here even though we live 30 minutes away! It is much more simple than going to a big grocery store. We buy way less junk food because it simply isn't there. Our meats taste more fresh and the veggies always taste delicious! It does get very crowded since it is only open Thursday to Saturday but it is beyond worth it! The staff is always friendly and willing to talk to you about products or how to prepare one of the dishes that they create. The Italian chicken has been one of our favorites, chicken stuffed with spinach and cheese that you put in the oven for 40 minutes and it taste like you want out to dinner. There are not enough good things I can say about this place and it is a must try for anyone who lives in the area. read more

When you think of a restaurant in an Amish market you think of simple homemade comfort food. That is exactly what this restaurant's predecessor used to serve. A visit to the Village Grille, however, yielded only food that tasted like it came out of the frozen foods aisle of the supermarket. I was sorely disappointed. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich because the old proprietor used to smoke his own meats and they were delicious. The little bit of meat on the sandwich that was placed in front of me this time looked and tasted much like the stuff that comes in plastic tubs in the refrigerated aisle of the supermarket. The rest of the meal was not much better. Thankfully the Amish market the Village Grille is located in sells great meats and much more so I can make my own meals at home. read more

This is my goto place for everything meat and guilty pleasure. Donuts are not even legal in most states, will make you commit gluttony. Wings cooked five ways or more are to die for. Raw meets are the freshest, hormone free items in the area and then there are the fresh vegetables. Basically the only things bad about this place is that I live so close to it, and that it is only open 3 days a week. read more
