The key word is local! Great little local spot in Monroe, NJ. You can tell they're meant for locals and takeout orders as they aren't necessarily catered to diners, but the few seats they do have always get filled with local couples. While the ambience is nothing special, my wife and I love the food here as it has become our go-to sushi spot after we go shooting at Recoil. One of our favorites is the spicy kani salad. They include bits of fried noodles to give a crunchy texture that makes it so good!!! Another item we love to order is the pumpkin tempura roll. We love pumpkin tempura but there aren't many sushi restaurants that will make a roll out of it much less have it on their menu. Their other special rolls are good and they have great ikura too!! Would I recommend going out of your way to come here? Probably not but if you're a local or passing by Monroe, NJ, this is a great spot to try out! read more

This is hands down my favorite local sushi spot. Whether you sit in or order take out, the food is always delicious. My favorite roll is definitely the yellowtail special. It has yellowtail, ikura and avocado. I havent see any other sushi place do this combo before but its def a must try. The ikura here is flavorful and the uni is also fresh! Very happy that Suki Sushi is one of the restaurants that is local to me because it has never disappointed me. I always come here in a pinch when I want something good to eat. Just this past week, some friends wanted sushi and we all met up here and I was reminded of why I love this place. To me the #1 thing that makes a sushi restaurant great is variety. By no means am I a purist so I ordered 3 of the best looking special rolls and they were all great. Other places that I have enjoyed usually only have a few rolls that pique my interest and I'm happy with those, but Suki is the rare place that has me confused about what I should order. One of my favorite problems to have because I always get to try something new when I come. If you're local to the area, you should absolutely come here, and if not, I think it's definitely worth a stop if you're ever driving past the area. We got the 5th Avenue roll and Phoenix fire roll and they were both delicious with good flavors and fresh fish. We weren't expecting to see pad Thai on the menu but we ordered and it was delicious, the texture was perfect and so was the flavor. Went here for dinner tonight. Cute place. We were seated right up front when you first walk inside. Our table was in a weird spot because our table was also in front of the podium where you pay for your meal. Place was cute but VERY EXPENSIVE. The sushi was small and it was ok. There were 3 guys making the sushi, only 1 girl running around getting people's orders, cleaning the table, bringing food, getting drinks. I felt so bad for this woman. Having only 1 server meant it took even longer to get our food or to even have her come to our table to order more food. The other 2 girls were either behind the podium taking people's orders through the phone or preparing the food for those customers who were picking up the food. with this wonderful pandemic delivery n take out are always an issue. sadly I live 2 miles too far for them to deliver..yea boo. so we ordered and picked up. cute little place. order was ready when I got there. coueteous and quick. separated hot n cold items that's awesome. 3 roll lunch combo which was super delicious and fresh, friend ordered shrimp teriyaki bento box. not much in it. several cali rolls, a few shumai, shrimp ( no veggies) except one lonely stalk of broccoli. everything was fresh and delicious, friend wasn't a fan of teriyaki sauce. So I tried this place for the first time this past week. I was super happy about how close it was to Spotswood (surprising I've never tried it before). When I walked in to pick up my food, the staff was super attentive and friendly. They told me to take a seat, and the chefs and hostess smiled at me. I ordered the Japanese Focaccia and Spicy Kani Salad. The Focaccia was REALLY good. Lots of avocado, fish, crab and spicy sauce piled on tortilla chips. I could've gone with a little less sauce though. I liked that no rice was involved. The salad was also very tasty. I did think there was a little too much filler of the crispy chips though. I'm definitely going to come back again. I want to try the soft shell crab roll which looks great! read more

This place is really expensive. I don't mind paying for quality, but this was not the best sushi I've ever had. I would call it good, but not worth the price. We started with the beef negemaki and scallion pancake. Beef negemaki was burned, and they really should not have sold this. Off to a bad start. Scallion pancake was good, and I liked the dipping sauce, but 1 pancake for 4.50 is a rip. We did 5 specialty rolls. Everything was $13-15. We don't love eel sauce, so it was easy to eliminate about half the rolls, and wife isn't a huge fan of asparagus in her rolls so we found our options that way. The spice level in the spicy rolls was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, and we each had different favorites but overall liked everything we ordered so we were happy. But $100 sushi for 2 people is a pricey night, so be prepared for that if you check this place out. read more

Finally! A new sushi restaurant in Spotswood. It's a tiny place, but many sushi restaurants are. I started simple with salmon and tuna rolls. They were very good and their size was generous. I then tried the Suki Spider Roll. It also was tasty. It came with a mango sauce. This was a first for me. I would like to try it again without the mango. The staff was very friendly. No specials on weekends, so go on week days to take advantage of several specials listed on the menu. The Monster Roll looked awesome. Bottom line; I'll be back. read more

Im so happy that i've found such an awesome sushi spot thats close to me. What i've tried: The spicy kani salad: this is something i always order at every japanese restaurant that i go to, but this place makes it the best. They dont overdo it with the mayo, and they mix in a lot of kani and crispy wonton shells. Love the crunch! sashimi salad: absolute yum!!!! just try it, you wont regret it!! It was delicious- i just wish their portions were a bit bigger. The sushi rolls: i love that they dont give you a little bit of seafood with a ton of rice. The sushi rice was good in terms of texture (chewy & flavorful) Also, all the seafood here tastes fresh. Dessert: they have the same options as most other japanese restaurants. They have reg icecream, mochi, fried icecream, and banana fried icecream. If you are new to these desserts, id say go for the banana fried icecream! Its so good youre not going to want to share. Overall i was pleased with the food & the great service. The waiters and sushi chefs are so nice. Definitely will come back here more often. read more
