Kate, the owner, has assembled a small crew of beautiful people to fulfill your food desires. This place has been on a steady trajectory since its opening. The BEST bagels anywhere, from Davidovich Bakery NYC. Croissants are off the charts. Omelettes and soups, Avocado Toast, tarts and cookies and awesome Rugelach! In the colder months the wood stove is a perfect place to sit and relax. The combination of the wood fire and the fresh baked pastries is intoxicating. Linda, the manager, treats people like family, all the baristas are pleasant and smiling, the playlist is cool and eclectic. Rustic Framed Prints and Handmade items are everywhere. All made by local Artisans... as the name "Village Hands" would imply. Finally, don't leave with out a bag of In House Roasted Coffee Beans. What a great place! Food was absolutely on point. Their coffee was also very good. Definitely will be going back.

What a gem to be added to an area in need of original restaurants!!! The first thing that strikes you is the decor...from the hand made wrought iron benches outside , to the wood everywhere... the art (that is beautiful and for sale!) to the wood burning stove. There is a section to buy gorgeous mugs and local hand creams, candles, fresh breads etc. Then there is the food! SO reasonable and so delicious... I had scrambled eggs with avocado that came with fruit and potatoes... fresh baked goods..my friend had scrambled eggs with fresh whole grain bread. We moved here a little over a year ago and I've been suffering from a lack of a true honest to goodness coffee shop with baristas that know how to make a great cup of coffee. I am no longer in pain! My prayers have been answered with Village Hands Cafe. They roast their own beans to perfection, knowledgeable baristas, homemade syrups, and the greatest flavor. I had the honey lavender latte. Exquisite! My 8 year-old and I shared a triple cheese on 7 grain bread, accompanied with an heirloom tomato strawberry salad. Both were delicious...actually I'm googling the salad recipe because I don't think I could ever get enough of it. We shared a carrot cake. If you only come for one item, make that item the carrot cake! Devine! The atmosphere is cozy casual with plenty of room for single, couples, families, and groups. They are still setting up a local farm to table shop, but it looks like it will have a wide selection of goodies. I'm hoping they might sell their syrups and carrot cake. What a great cafe! This was my third time here and I'm thoroughly charmed by this sweet little spot. Decor is so nice and comfy, music really nice and the food/coffee is great. Today I got the Snickerdoodle latte (a seasonal flavor). It was served in a really great latte mug and had a heart design! But aside for the look it was sooo good! Super creamy and the perfect amount of sweetness. Blows those overly sweet Starbucks lattes away... Also had the avocado toast today...wow it was super good. We will be back for sure. read more

What's happening with you guys?! I was a huge fan of this place since they opened, but lately it's been a disappointment. It seems like the original staff have all left and the new cooks are inconsistent. Prices have gone up I guess "due to covid", but $12.50 for avocado toast is ridiculous. I ordered avocado toast this morning and they gave me home fries instead of the usual salad, what a mistake that was. The potatoes seemed like they were old and re-heated over and over in a microwave and were not edible, the toast was soggy and there were only 3 pieces. For $12.50 I expect my 4 pieces. My hubby had the Reuben which was just ok. I really hope you guys get your act together cause I was your biggest fan and have recommended your place to many friends. read more

Stopped in for breakfast. Had an egg white omelette with onion, tomato, and mozzarella cheese. The omelette was perfect and was served with a side of delicious potatoes and fresh giant blueberries and strawberries and great whole grain toast I'm 71 years old and I drink a lot of coffee and I can tell you this is the best cup of coffee I've ever had in my life. Monroe's local businesses have struggled for years and this one is the perfect mix of colonial, rustic charm meets the modern delights of rainbow bagels and lavender lattes. There's a beautiful outdoor patio and front porch for outdoor seating. Inside is the cozy architectural appeal you should expect of Museum Village along with quaint antique seating. Hate to give local places a low review though I have been coming here for a year now with the same issue not addressed. Very simple "heat" During the winter months it seems as though they rely only on the wood stove as their main source of heat. Last year when I started coming in the winter, and I would say more than 2 dozen times the temperature was beyond cold in the cafe. I asked the employees many times about the issue and each time I was brushed off. Yes I did keep coming back because I think it's a great place for food and coffee and was hoping they would surprise me with a warm cafe. So yesterday I came in and ordered some oatmeal for breakfast and it was luke warm at best more on the cooler side. I brought it to the attention of the employee who was very nice and said they would warm it. When I got it back 5 minutes later it was about the same, maybe slightly warmer but still at best luke warm. Again no heat, most every other customer was saying the same and complaining. Overheard the employee say the tarp flew off of the wood and it is damp and not burning correctly...guess it's been damp for the past year now. I felt bad for the workers, it was not their fault. The owner should know this problem and correct it by now. My advice, if you try it, it is a nice place and has go food (less the Luke warm oatmeal) but in the winter months dress warm, layer and double up on your socks!
