On what seemed to be a quiet street on a Sunday afternoon we entered Mister Croissant to find it bustling. The space is lovely and bright with tables where you can spend some time and indulge in the delicacies. The display case is filled with beautiful items, it was hard to choose. We opt'd for an orange cranberry scone to enjoy there, along with a passion fruit iced tea. The scone was lovely, not too sweet with a great crumb. The tea was extremely sweet, I would have enjoyed it more had it been less sweet. We took home some other items. The pistachio croissant was not only beautiful, but excellent. The chocolate dulce de leche loaf was also so pretty and decadent and delicious. Mister Croissant is a place you'd expect to find in NYC, but the people of Middletown are lucky to have it. read more

Came here today for a seasonal sweet treat. We ended up getting the pumpkin. I don't mind splurging but $10 for something the size of a truffle is a bit much. I was pretty disappointed by the taste. Last years fall stuff was better and even better the year before. It kind of just tasted like pumpkin puree. I went here recently and ordered a large iced vanilla latte, and this girl taking my order with brown hair rudley asked me if I was okay I said, "Yeah, I'm just tired?," and she goes, "That's just a lot of caffeineee." I'm sorry, but who says that to someone ordering a coffee at a CAFE? I also ordered a croissant beforehand and really enjoyed it, so that was definitely a plus! It's always spotless in this place which is always a great sign! The croissants are perfect and have yet to have one I don't like. Sometimes the box croissants have a bit too much filling in them for my taste, so be advised on that if you like your desserts one way or another! My absolute favorite items there are the mango cloud drink, the walnut chocolate chip cookie (seriously to die for), and the chicken salad croissant. This bakery is located in quaint downtown Middletown. There is ample parking. Upon arrival, you notice how clean and bright the restaurant is. The Croissants and Pastries are works of art. They look spectacular and are displayed brilliantly. It almost feels like you are in a museum the way the food looks. It's beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. You do need a bit of help as the pastries are deceiving and the fillings are very well hidden behind the "art work". We ordered two butter croissants. First, each was placed in a separate bag to keep the croissant fluffy and intact, which I thought was thoughtful not to disrupt each croissant's structure. Now the verdict...perfection. Very very clean cafe and aesthetically pleasing. We were greeted upon entering and the workers were very friendly and pleasant. I enjoyed the pistachio croissant. It was fluffy and tasty with the pistachio filling. We also ordered the chocolate covered croissant with banana and Nutella. This one was difficult to cut into with the fork and knife. By the way they use very heavy plates and utensils which look nice but it was hard for me to use when cutting into the hard chocolate covered croissant. Their espresso drinks were just ok for me. After seeing Mister Croissant on Facebook, hubby and I stopped in for a visit. The shop is small but very clean and pristine. There are tables and chairs for dining in. So many delicious looking pastries and sandwiches, it was difficult to choose. We settled on a turtle brownie, a strawberry passion fruit pastry, tiramisu and a Black Forest pastry. As you can see, the Black Forest pastry didn't make it to the photos - it was delicious!! I'm saving the tiramisu for dessert tonight. Everything is beyond delicious!! The best part of Middletown. I'm still thinking about the pastries my family and I ate here. I am so sad that we don't have this establishment in Houston. The pastry chef uses butter imported from france and a 72 hour period which you can taste with each bite. So So good! Typically, I don't enjoy banana desserts, but the banana nutella croissant was out of this world. We enjoyed everything that we have tried from here: pistachio croissant, tiramisu, and some others. They have classics and unique twists on pastries. Unfortunately Mister Croissant has declined tremendously since opening. I regularly come and get the same things every time. Each time I come, the service gets worse and worse. It's a shame because the food/drinks are good, but for the expensive price, I would hope the service is good as well. This is now the third time I have entered the establishment and not one employee greeted me or acknowledged my existence. Mind you it was not busy and they were not helping customers at the time of entering and there is more than one employee. After waiting a while to even get a hello and ask to be helped, the employee packaged my desserts so poorly. Because of this, a dessert broke and a croissant was now extremely soggy. Once again, for the price, this should not be an issue. I spent about $35 for just 2 croissants and 2 very small desserts and they got ruined. If you are going to charge the prices you do, you should have better trained staff. The performance and quality should reflect in your prices. I have included a picture of how the employee put together my items and ruined them. What a waste. I literally paid to get ignored and then have my desserts thrown together and ruined lol I don't want to stop coming here but each time I come the quality goes downhill. read more

While in town on vacation, we noticed this little gem on Google, and decided to pop in for a treat. For starters, this place feels like a dessert boutique the moment you walk in. The staff were wearing cute uniforms with jaunty white hats, and were incredibly inviting. They glady described each piece of culinary art, and made recommendations. The one that piqued my interest the most was the pistachio croissant which is pictured in their logo and was highly praised in other reviews. At 6pm, we were unfortunately too late to get our hands on one. We decided to try 2 different box croissants, one filled with Biscoff and caramel, the other cookies and cream. What a delight! Who knew that you could make a square croissant and fill it with different flavors of happiness! The brown butter triple chocolate cookies were equally amazing. My only regret was taking them back to our hotel and not eating them warm at the bakery. Before going home the next day, we went back one more time. The pistachio croissants were back in stock freshly baked mere hours earlier. Not only that, and dulce de leche croissant was there calling my name from inside its case. We ate both in the bakery, warmed up by our server, making the fillings melty and delicious. I cannot overstate how good both of these were eaten fresh on the spot. If I lived less than 2 hours away this would become a problem. Before leaving, I decided to try one of the little fruit desserts as well. My mother always told me to eat a balanced diet. After a brief discussion with the staff, I chose the green apple. It had a white chocolate shell with caramel, apples and some sort of mousse (cinnamon?). A piece of art, both visually and in taste. Terrible business decision to change the tres leches cake container to a tall skinny "soda can". The cake used to come in a big cube shaped, clear acrylic container that was perfect - the cake layers were soaked in lots of milky liquid, and it was easy to share a bite or two with family if I felt generous. Now the only way to get to the bottom is to find a long handled skinny spoon, and even then it's difficult since the opening is less than 2 inches circumference. There is also no way to reseal the "soda can" if I don't want to eat it all at once. Pleeeeease rethink this decision and bring back the cube container. read more
