Okay so for a Village Inn... this is THE Village Inn! I popped in for a quick work lunch with my partner and we were instantly greeted with such kindness. They sat us immediately and brought out water also immediately for us! Our server then came over to make some suggestions on specials of the day/soup of the day! Upon hearing the soup of the day was tomato and they recently added an adult grilled cheese to the menu, I was SOLD! Talk about a nostalgic comfort meal in a setting where everyone treats you like family. The grilled cheese was wonderful. I know it's a simple sandwich, but the added parmesan cheese to really crisp up the bread, did it for me! I don't live in the area, but if I ever find my way back to La Junta, I'll certainly make sure to pop in for a comforting meal in a warm setting! Beautiful service! read more

My husband and I stopped in for lunch this past weekend. I'm so glad we did. Our host greeted us with charm as soon as we came through the door!! Our lunch was perfect and cooked by the infamous Andrew who infuses his 20 years of loving to cook into his dishes...It's hard to find a good meal and even harder to find a staff who cares about their customers...we were stuffed already then Mac influenced us with pie...we are still here stuck!! Compared on the level of a Denny's or an IHOP or other restaurant of equal quality. I give this restaurant five stars because: Everything we ordered came out correct even though we special-ordered almost everything. The restaurant is clean and the wait staff is friendly and polite. We even requested a table in a section that they were not using and they were willing to accommodate us so we could watch out vehicle ( our pups were in the truck). I haven't been to a restaurant where they've actually gotten everything correct in years. Congratulations crew you did a good job. Shelby was our server and this young lady did a fantastic job helping us pick out our meal choices for brunch, we had never eaten there. While on vacation we wanted a 24 hour breakfast option and Village Inn did not disappoint. They make all the food from scratch including the yummy waffles and crepes. They have a small bakery and hair fresh cakes and pies each day. Large menu selection, and all the food we tried was superb and only $22.89 which was a shock we think they should have charged more. Forget Cracker Barrel or Waffle House chains, go to support local and eat where the locals eat. I had a cheese omelette (2 egg) 1/2 waffle with blueberries, home fries, and 1/2 order of biscuits with country gravy. My husband had 2 eggs medium, cooked to perfection, French toast, thick sliced bacon, Hash browns crispy. The coffee is great, and the restaurant was clean, large, good parking, nice part of town, family friendly with clean restrooms well stocked. We will come back here next vacation out west. read more

Village Inn PIE makes it an extra star! This location friendly and strives for good family food. I had the fried chicken special and was very pleased, food served hot and very well flavored. I did not like the creamy coleslaw--too creamy for me. I always have French Silk Pie and it takes care of all mistakes! Jackie was my server and she cared. Ridiculous horrible service this evening. Not just our table. Sat for a while and finally someone took our order. Took forever to get our food and didn't get our drinks until after the food came. Didn't get our soup, our side of toast, no refills on empty iced teas. Took our free pie Oder and easily was 30 minutes before it came. My slice is supposed to be served cold and it was literally melted. Them got the wrong ticket. read more

Waitress Emile needs to smile and be more attentive, nice, and cheerful. I got an entree that had a side of onion rings-- and I requested a side of ranch when I ordered it. I got my order but missing the ranch----of which 3 ounces showed up when I was almost done with the dinner... maybe she was thinking there is a chance I might want that ranch with my slice of apple pie!! I have gone to many restaurants and service is what needs to be improved here. I hope Emilie was just having a bad day, and that she can be the real great individual that is here to make a difference. Tonight reaffirms why i haven't been here for a year and won't return again. Ordered a Southwest Chicken Salad and got twice cooked chicken. Chicken was dry, shriveled, and nearing chewy. I used to work at VI in Denver. Waitress was barely ok. Host came to tables nearby and made sexual jokes I found very offensive as well as the person it was directed at. Meatloaf was dry over cooked and very small portion size and over priced to begin with. Have had breakfast items with mixed success Apparently starting each sentence out with please and thank you is the newest fab. This is the most accommodating staff I've ever encountered! I have a fairly strict diet (ketogenic) and it's often difficult to eat out. The staff at the village inn made it easy, fast, and convenient! They didn't charge me an arm and a leg for customizing an order. I've never encountered such a wonderful group of people. Okay, went to Village Inn on Friday night after 10pm. Our waitress was very nice, and very quickly took our order, and even read it back to us to double sure she had it right... VERY NICE... Now on to the bad part. I ordered the pork chops, mashed potatoes and broccoli. First, the pork chop were GREAT! The mashed potatoes and gravy were both COLD.. and I mean like icebox cold.. And the Broccoli was so under cooked I could not eat it, so, set it to the side uneaten. My wife had Tomato soup, country fried steak, broccoli, and mashed potatoes and gravy. Again, the mashed potatoes and gravy were super cold, the Broccoli she sent back to be recooked...she said the steak was "gross"..(her words). My son had a three meat burger, with all kinds of sides.. He was served (and accidentally ate) MOLDED jalapenos...he called the waitress over, she said "well, you've had your penicillin for the day" REALLY???? My Daughter had her chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, and something else..can't remember, but she did not eat the mashed potatoes because they were (as ours were) COLD.... she said her steak was very bad, and tasted bad.. Okay, so, the waitress did not get a tip because of the penicillin remark on molded jalapenos (and for NOT taking them off the tab to begin with) and we will NOT go back... I only wish there was a good place to eat in La Junta... maybe next time we will visit the Mexican food place in Rocky Ford (big two story place at end of town headed towards La Junta.. This Village Inn is the BEST I have been too! Even though today was Easter and it was packed we still were seated IMMEDIATELY and our food came out extremely fast. Ashley was out waitress and she is beyond friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We did not have to wait for our drinks, food, or check at all. She did a perfect job! The General Manager even checked on us to make sure everything was good quality and tasted right. Two nights prior we came for dinner and Yoshi was our Waitress and she also was extremely friendly and our food came out hot and fast! I have no complaints about this Village Inn and would recommend it to you over Felicia's a few feet down the street. read more

First off this is a chain restaurant so its set up like any other Village Inn. My family and I have been there twice. The first time the food was decent, no great not bad. The second time we went we got stuck with a waitress that had no clue what was going on. She messed up our order 3 times. She kept calling my son "she." She told us we weren't going to be charged for the screwups but in the end we wanted to get out of there so bad we just paid the bill and ran. read more

We've been coming here for years as it's my grandmother's favourite place to eat in La Junta and have never been disappointed at the food or service. Sometimes it's dramatically better than others, but always pretty solid. The Mexican dishes seem to be a bit dissonant compared to more dramatically authentic competition in this town but are still not bad in themselves. All in all we aren't all giddy to return every time, but not averse to the idea either. read more

What a wonderful experience! Pete, the manager, went out of his way to make sure my mother and I had the best service and food possible. Visiting the LaJunta Village Inn felt like coming home to family. The staff were all so very nice! The food was very good. The food presentation reminded me of a higher-end restaurant. We ate dinner here 2 nights because there are not many choices after 7 in LA Juanta. We have a VI a block from our house so we are very familiar with this chain. The first night the service was poor with our waiter disappearing for long periods. Then they charged us for pie that was included with the dinner. THE SECOND night we tried to avoid the VI but it was the only place other then bars open. The service was just ok. The food just ok , and prices higher then our local VI. The service is horrible. Ordered an omelet without any sauce and a few other things. When I picked my order up, the omelet was covered in sauce. I asked the manager to make another one. He came back a minute later with the same omelet with the sauce scrapped off! I then asked him why he would do such a thing and his response was a blank stare. He then walked back to the kitchen to get another omelet made. The one he brought back looked like they had danced on it. Will not be returning to support this local business. Only giving one star because it's the lowest I can rate them. I have enjoyed eating at Village Inn since 1983. For some reason the last few visits have been beyond terrible. This last time we came for breakfast and all the items that I in the past would order were no longer available. German Apple Pancake Swedish Crepes with lingonberries and even pork chop and eggs breakfast are no longer being offered. My mother and I ended up sharing a breakfast and the meal was barely edible. I'm very disappointed and doubt if I will ever return. On top of that the value for my money just wasn't there a breakfast that sold for $7.99 somehow turned the final bill into a $16.00 meal like wtf and both mother and I left the store still hungry due to the poor quality of the food delivered. The service needs improvement our waitress knew we were struggling to eat the food and she never checked in to see how we were doing or offer us another meal to replace the meal we had that tasted horrible.
