Service I find is good-plus. Breakfast all day and good. Lunch sandwiches good and varied. Dinner good for what selections are given. Was working on a carnivore diet. They found a good way to meet this request. Place is clean, maintained at a high level. Looked to be restrained in writing this. For most go it is a good place to eat. read more

Ordered through Village online, had an issue with Door Dash delivering to the wrong house, which by the time we found it- animals had started to eat it. The manager helped resolve the issue by remaking the food- because Door Dash support would not even respond to my wife and kept saying it wasn't through DD. Four diners on Saturday eve early enough for discount menu. The hot roast beef sandwich doesn't automatically include the mashed potatoes! The rice pilaf was horrid as a side. I think it was boil in bag brown rice and just a clump without anything exciting added. Our wait staff was fine, just appeared awkward when serving our plates. Entrees were better than the rice. I wish restaurants would revert back to actually prepping the food in house! read more

food was really, really good, it always is, that's the two stars. we get done eating, the server never came back with the check (she could have been doing closing duties). we were seated directly behind the hostess/register station. while we waited, the gm and i'm assuming the asst. gm, plus a server and a couple other people in street clothes and name tags were having a fun time joking and laughing. they joked around for about 10-15 minutes and were messing with some chalk markers. we had pushed our plates to the edge of the table and still nothing. they HAD to have seen us, being so close to the table, but they didn't. unbelievable. the manager was having a great time with his staff, but didn't move from the station. he should have been at least doing table touches. the server finally showed up with the check and we left. you need new, professional management in this joint. read more

Sometimes when we're traveling we're struck by understaffed restaurants and substandard presentation. We had breakfast on a Saturday morning. The place was super busy. The eggs on the eggs Benedict were poached easy, the Canadian bacon was super thick. My husband said his pancakes were excellent. It's a pandemic where we live, mask use on staff was mixed, most wore masks--customers not so much, even while not eating and paying at the register. Some of the wait staff looked like they were maybe 14, which we thought was great! read more

My wife and I went to the Village Inn on Ridgeway Ave in Waterloo, IA. The hostess was pleasant and seated us right away as the restaurant was not busy at all. A waitress then came to our table asked for what we wanted for drinks and returned shortly after with our Coffee and water. Then she asked if we were ready to order and we asked her for a minute more. She then went back to the kitchen and brought food out to another customer, then another, and after 10 minutes or so she stopped at a table and returned with there drinks and took there order. We sat there for about 20 minutes and we noticed three employees standing by the kitchen door chatting, So we got and left without ever getting service. The hostess did say she was sorry. read more

I'm split with my review. The food is very good and good prices. I really Iike VIB where I can choose which breakfast items I want. Food always comes quickly and fresh. I've been there 3 times in the past 2 months. The first time was great. The server was very attentive, fast, friendly and professional but didn't hover. She quickly refilled drinks. Excellent experience all around. The 2nd time was weird. The server took our drink order but our food came before the drinks. We waited for quite some time for our drinks and finally we had to catch her walking past and ask for them. She finally brought our drinks and that was the last time we saw her. The 3rd time, food was great as usual. Fresh and was delivered to our table quickly. The server was nice when she took our order and likewise when dropping if off to our table. Again, this was the last time we saw our server. She never came back for drink refills and didn't come for our dirty plates. The restaurant wasn't full and we were with extended family so we would have liked to stay, drink coffee and chat for a while but it's kind of hard to do with a bunch of plates & empty glasses covering the table. We just paid our bill and left. This time I did let the manager know why we didn't leave a tip and exactly what happened. She said she was sorry & that was it. I've been going to this location for 20 plus years and until recently the poor service hasn't been the norm so I'm not sure if it's training issues or what. Also- I don't like the idea of dropping off the bill when you deliver the food to your table. That I've noticed is their common procedure. So there it is, great food & prices and 1 out of 3 servers provided acceptable service. read more

We came here on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Everything was delicious, and the service was prompt and courteous. Prices were less than Denny's and Ihop, which pleasantly surprised me. Portion sizes were huge. They had a good selection of kids items at a really good price, and clean high chairs too! I ordered a delicious omelet and it came with hash browns AND pancakes. They also had a lunch and dinner menu filled with comfort foods. Can't wait to be back here again! read more

Village Inn is a great place to eat, if you like to have hair in all the food you order. You think they make the people in the kitchen wear hair nets but apparently not, somehow I still manage to get hair in my pre bought frozen pie that I order. As you can see from my photo I have very long hair and all the hairs I seem to find are about an inch to an inch and a half long. Cut your damn hair, or fire somebody. Right after a sleepover night with friends. The next morning we went to village inn. It was my first time here. So I had high expectations for a breakfast restaurant. I've never been to a single breakfast restaurant before so yeah it was an experience. The waiting line for us was quite short. Took maybe five to ten minutes, and because one of our friends, works there. It was pretty cool to see how all of this went. The food didn't take long for it to be done. We had a group of six to eight people to feed. The food came in with a smell of deliciousness. I was hungry and aye right away. I had the eggs, bacons, hashbrowns, and a side of buttered pancakes. I couldn't finish the buttered pancakes though sadly. I will come back again hopefully. Cause village inn is amazing!! read more

Poor food quality. Service is okay but not great. They usually deliver your food, drop off your bill, and never come back. Hard to get drink refills. Food is pre-packaged and frozen. Pies are great; cheaper to get pies to go rather than pay per slice. read more
