This would be one of the best avocado toast that I've had in a long time, absolutely delicious! We found VJG a while back and been coming here @ least once a week for that avocado toast. We will eventually explore the rest of the menu and see their other offerings, but for now, when we are in Malverne, my breakfast options have a great selection thanks to VGJ. I just had the new Chipotle Chicken Club sandwich with sweet potatoe fries. The sandwich was delicious! It was hot fresh and tasty. All the ingredients were fresh crispy and simply spot on. I took a wrong turn and found this place in the middle of Malverne in a cute little area. First the menu is very big and impressive *sb shoutout to the person who wrote the menu that handwriting is beautiful. I I ordered the lemon honey ginger shot and it was intense but that's because ginger is intense but I mainly got it because ginger is known to be an anti inflammatory. I also ordered the sweet as chai smoothie and I added protein. Now this one it was good but next time I would probably just add some sweetener and a little extra chai because it kind of ended up tasting just like frozen almond milk. At face value this place may seem too pricy, but from experience I can 100% affirm that you totally get what you pay for. Whenever I go, I do a create your own bowl and it comes absolutely teeming with all the items I selected and is around $13. The salad is so filling and satisfying, and it has become a speial treat to myself on my days off. Any juice or smoothie I have ordered here has also been really good!! LOL see the condescending tone of the owner in her response, as if anywhere in my review I said I was unsatisfied with the kids menu. I was never even shown a kids menu, the sweet girl at the register suggested a kids smoothie and I said "sure, that sounds great!" So I paid what she asked. I ordered three smoothies from here. They were all too watery with no flavor. The owner had to remake it because one of the employees forgot some ingredients. But still wasn't tasteful. The two starts are for the owner remaking two out of three smoothies over without any problem. But Smoothie wise I wouldn't recommend it. Also it seem like it was a very hostile work environmentIt. It was a lot of commotion back-and-forth with the workers and the owner. But when I asked if they were truly organic the owner gave me a half assed answer and never really clarified! This area needs an organic cafe, food juices and smoothies! But saying it's 75% organic is lame. Especially after Covid, it's so important to eat organic, non GMO healthy foods. Fast forward to a few months ago I ordered a few salads and the Mexican bowl and the chicken tasted like something out of Wendy's or Subway. . It was not grilled properly and there were pieces of cartilage in it. Like "rib meat". They really need to upgrade to organic or hormone free chicken. And yes better ingredients. I'm actually surprised it took me so long to write a review about this spot! Village Juice Garden opened in Malverne about 4 years ago and they are my go to spot for smoothies and beach lunches all summer long. My usual order is a Mediterranean Salad. Sometimes I add chicken if I'm feeling more hungry on a given day. Their chicken is great, nice and fresh (normally I'm skeptical about ordering grilled chicken at some places because it ends up being rubbery but not here!) The salad always hits the spot when I'm hanging out at the beach. I've also tried a majority of their smoothies which are all great. If I had to pick my favs it would probably be the carrot cake smoothie (seriously, amazing so delicious, my go to when I'm feeling something sweet and decadent), pink paradise, mango mule, and just peachy. But seriously, you can't go wrong with any of them! My fiancé and I always end up ordering something different so we try each other's and the smoothies are always great. I haven't tried many of their juices yet but right now, I'm going through a "Green Goddess" phase. You'd never guess it's full of veggies. Delicious! Overall, highly recommend. I live nearby so it's very convenient for me to stop by. Sometimes I grab a smoothie while I'm walking through town but for the most part I usually order ahead on the phone and swing by on the way to the beach. Really like how there is FINALLY a health food place near me to get fresh juices and food. I like drinking green juices usually as I get all my vegetables in without having to actually eat them (lol). My only dilemma is it usually tastes really bad! That is definitely not the case here though. I have tried a few different drinks but Green Goddess and Supreme Detox are my gotos! They have lemon added so it's like a green juice mixed with lemonade! The staff is also very friendly and your drinks come out quick. I really wanna try the food there as well! Fantastic staff producing the best pure juices & smoothies while you wait. They serve a wide variety of pure juice drink & smoothie combinations though are more than happy to allow you to substitute or create your own. I order the large size, it's a better value than the regular at a dollar or two more though I find that size drink is perfect. The food too is actually very good, fresh soups were served during the colder weather, made to order sandwiches & salads as part of a breakfast & lunch menu at very reasonable prices are their staples. A fantastic business doing things the right way and being happy to be doing it. This is a spotlessly clean business from before you enter the front door to the back open kitchen where you can see the pride in ownership. They have a great selection of really fresh juices (they hand cut fresh fruits and veggies right there for each juice), delicious smoothies (like the All the Whey banana and peanut butter smoothie I am enjoying right now) and they just recently started salads. So let me start by saying I'm not typically someone who likes to pull places apart but I've been to Village Juice garden before and I've had great experiences. Unfortunately tonight wasn't one of those times. I had reviewed the menu prior to going so I already knew what I wanted. Now I get that it's 7pm but their menu indicates that they serve breakfast "anytime". I went in already knowing I wanted their Green Giant Juice which never disappoints, but when I asked for a Steel Bowl Oatmeal the young man at the counter quickly shot me down. I didn't fight it because I figured okay it is 7pm but he could've elaborated as to why he couldn't make that. So I proceed to order their version of a grilled cheese. Than he proceeds to kind of have an attitude and takes an order over the phone while I'm trying to place my order (I get it your trying to multitask) but it's pretty rude. Now I walked in at 7:10 and he proceeded to clean and finish making himself a juice before every starting my order. So yes at this point I'm annoyed I finally get my order 28 minutes later. The people are really nice and the establishment itself looks clean and welcoming. However, the service is below average. It constantly takes at least over 20 minutes to receive even the simplest of singular juice orders, and on top of that, they usually mess the order up to some capacity. It's sad! Because I really was looking forward to having a local healthy juice place I could frequent!! My family and I have given them plenty of chances, but the results are always the same. After years of finally wondering about this place, we finally stopped by to grab a drink. I am extremely impressed with the menu (they have food, too!) and the offerings of smoothies and juices are really good. The Red Refresh is particularly tasty. The veggie burger was clearly frozen - yet the cashier insisted everything was "fresh" and made to order. Lol. Either way. The food was good and the juice was ok. Came back a couple months ago and was impressed with their avocado toast and their new salad /bowls. The lettuce was crisp, the avocado was fresh and chicken was great. Then we came about two weeks ago. I had a quesadilla and my BF had a hummus pressed sandwich. His was fine, nothing special. But my quesadilla was horrible. The cheese smelled horrible! The chicken looked processed. Like the fatty cubes of chicken they would use at a Subway or Applebees (blegh!) and they both took forever to make! Almost 40 minutes we waited! Not going back.
