ordered my birthday cake maybe a month or two weeks before and put a deposit & made an order in store, it's a little busy but they help right away and are helpful. Price is very reasonable. I picked up the cake on the day I needed it and it was beautiful, looked just like the picture I wanted and I added the bows at home. It was a red velvet cake with cream cheese filling. The cake also tasted amazing, it finished basically the same weekend lol. I will definitely continue to order from here. read more

I really tried... I had finally decided to go back to get a birthday cake for my mother since she really missed the one we'd get from here. Things went really well that time! However, I called on the 31st and the customer service on the phone was absolutely ridiculous. The woman who picked up would not let me finish any sentence... ever! She was cutting me off with go-to responses without giving me a chance to fully say anything. So, I wasn't able to get anything here for my father's birthday because she was too rude to deal with. This is a run and grab place with so many tarts, pies etc but don't expect to sit down and enjoy a coffee with your delicious pastries. They also had lobster tail, one of my favorites! After reading great reviews about this bakery on dining online forums, I had bookmarked this to be on my list of places to try. We went on a Sunday so the options were more limited, but we got a mini tiramisu and a mini chocolate mousse (people had highly recommended this) and a few Italian butter cookies. We were worried they would be too sweet, but the Tiramisu had soo much flavor and the chocolate mousse wasn't over the top at all. The butter cookies were a hit as well. Good quality pastries, love their jelly donuts. The reason for the two stars is because they just hiked up their prices. I know a lot of places have but this is ridiculous. To pay $21 for 6 bite size cookies and a little pastry cake is crazy. My sister got a large choc chip cookie, a corn muffin and italian pastry and it was $15. This bakery is by far the best I've been to in NY. For my wedding I placed a phone order for a 3 tiered vanilla berry cake (no blueberries due to a guests allergy) and it was out of this world. The cake was light, fluffy and moist. The filling was fresh and flavorful as were the berries. The flavors of every aspect of their baking were perfectly balanced. Not over sweet or over cooked like most places I've had baked goods from on Long Island and in the US. They decorated it with a smooth vanilla icing and did a beading around the bottom of each layer. I couldn't physically go in to show them how I wanted to decorate it so after pickup I just used edible flowers and leaves to decorate myself which only took a few mins. Now for the smaller pastries! The cookies, the tarts, the cannolis, the cupcakes, the mousse cakes, omg... they're all just so good! So fresh and nothing ever tastes stale or like fake flavoring. TRY THE ALMOND COOKIES! Honestly they're all great but wow those are amazing. I'm really impressed with them. ALSO the customer service is stellar. 3 days before my order pickup I had to cancel and call back when I could set a new date and they were so accommodating and kind. Could not recommend this place more. My only suggestion to the business would be to put together a website so that people booking events from out of town can place order and design specifics without having to physically come in to see options. There are a lot of people and companies from out of town that book events on Long Island that would probably use this shop if they could see the marvelous work they do online. Pastries are good, but the customer service is awful. Went in there Thanksgiving day. They were hiding pies behind the counter to take home themselves. When I asked about them they told me to pick something else. I said I'll pick an assortment of smaller items they were annoyed and said "that's not going to be quick" in a nasty tone. As I was in my car ready to pull away a woman walked into the bakery. The lights were still on and the door open. When she entered they literally turned the lights off with her inside and sent her away empty handed. She left looking so dejected. They're horrible, I'll go anywhere but there from now on. read more

Well, my son-in-law was given a box of cookies from this place as a gift from one of his patients. When he brought them home, we all took one. Then, we took another, and another, and let's just say, it was hard to stop. These Italian cookies were sooooooooooo delicious and well made, and none of us could stop eating them. Oh Malverne Pastry shop really outdid themselves for my sister in law's shower! She loves Friends so we decided to go with a Friends themed cake. That's not the best part. The CAKE, omg!
