In New York, I've mostly had Golden Krust's version, but Florida really set the standard for what jerk chicken should taste like. Unfortunately, my experience at Jojo's didn't meet those expectations. The chicken tasted more like regular barbecue, as if barbecue sauce had simply been added, rather than having the bold, distinctive jerk seasoning I was hoping for. I was told that Jojo's focuses on healthier options, and if that's the case, I can understand their approach. I eat healthy myself, but when I'm craving a specific flavor, I expect that flavor to come through. This just wasn't what I was looking for. I wouldn't say it's good or bad - it just wasn't for me. I got the romaine and avocado salad to go as well as a corn soup. I've never been here so I can't speak to the ambience but the food was not it. It may be worth trying something else here such as a smoothie or wrap or something but those two items really didn't do it for me unfortunately. Second visit at this location I placed my order over the phone and the wait was about 30/40 min I ordered a LARGE immunity boost juice and it was amazing as before so happy with it. My boyfriend ordered a Berry smoothie and he enjoyed it as well. I did taste it and it was good. For food we ordered avocado toast which comes with two pieces of toast with avocado and red pepper flakes. It has a good taste and had a great amount off avocado. I also got the salmon wrap and had them put more lettuce this time around it was just as before fresh and tasty!! It does get messy from the sauces however it's good! We are SO lucky to have this spot in valley stream. It's amazing. Just as everyone else said. I've ordered delivery here a few times but only went into the actual spot for the first time this week. It's super clean, bright, and everyone is SO nice. I came back a second time this week already. I've been here for a total of 4 times and I believe my review is long overdue. Each time I go here, call me a stickler, but I like what I like, I always get the quinoa with jerk salmon, cranapple salad and depending on the day, the pumpkin soup. On my last visit I did try the famous jerk chicken wrap and I may just order that the next go around. The food taste fresh and I don't ever feel guilty about eating more than my fair share. You're bound to find something, even if it's just a smoothie/juice which they make to order. I think everything is reasonably priced and you get a good amount of food so you're not lacking for anything. The menu at JoJo's is pretty good whether you want a full on lunch, or just a juice/smaller snack. The prices are very fair for the quality. I ordered a large Green Monster. My boyfriend ordered the Turmeric Tonic and jerk chicken wrap. My juice was perfect (chugged it, so no photo). One small detail that I REALLY appreciated was that it was an extremely hot day and the man working (I believe one of the owners) asked if I wanted to take a sip to make some room and then he could add a couple of ice cubes. It drives me absolutely nuts when juice places dilute their juice with ice, and I normally hate ice in my juice, but I was happy to throw a few cubes in on the sweltering day (BTW-my boyfriend thought I was weird when I said how happy I was about that, so I get that people who don't drink juice might think this is a weird comment). Anyway! The juice was pure and refreshing. I like my boyfriends turmeric tonic a lot as well. He loved the jerk chicken wrap as well. It looked like a lot of people here had ordered in advance and just came to pick up their order which was smart because juice takes a long time to make, so I will look into that for next time.
