Her tutor said that a rental store usually lends a violin with at least new strings and bow. It was a used Lark (brand). I found that the price for a used one was around $100 on ebay, but their selling price was more than $400. I terminated the contract after three months. It was not a pleasant experience.

This review is a bit belated but I had a wonderful experience with Ardent Piano a few months ago…read more They came highly recommended by a local music shop and it was clear that the gentleman (I believe it was Mr. Dorsey?) who came out was professional, kind, and intelligent. It was also clear that he really knew what he was doing and was a true craftsman. Piano repairs had been a part of his family business for generations and I was very impressed with how thorough his knowledge was, especially for what ended up being a somewhat complicated repair. I very rarely use Yelp and have never left a review for anyone but I found the other negative review so astonishing I felt I absolutely had to chime in. Considering how busy Mr. Dorsey sounded and his high level of skill, I think it's entirely reasonable that there be a fee for house calls -- otherwise, someone could easily waste hours of his valuable time. In my particular case, I was very limited in what my schedule would allow and he went out of his way to accommodate that. He also went out of his way to finish the repair sooner than he had initially thought he'd be able to so as to once again accommodate my needs. He did a wonderful job with both the repair and the subsequent tuning. If ever I need a piano repair or tuning in the future, I will absolutely look to use Ardent Piano again and hope others do too, as genuine craftsmen like those at Ardent Piano are truly rare.

I found the "Eyeglass Doctor" online and the reviews convinced me to stop in. They assured me they could fix them and quoted me $82 w/tax. It was a bit more that I expected but still less than 10% of what new glasses cost. The only bummer was the wait. I was told three weeks at dropoff because of a backlog of repairs, but my claim check said five weeks. Since I had a backup pair to wear I decided to wait, plus I figured they must be doing good work if they're so busy. The wait was worth it - the repair was very well done and my glasses fit great again. I would absolutely use them again and you should too.
