Excellent pizza in Bonsall, CA! We had just had a humiliating experience at the place across the street and needed good pizza. Village Pizza did not disappoint! In fact, it was excellent and frankly healing. We ordered a sausage, garlic and jalapeño pizza and a plain cheese, to go. I love the style of crust, with that crispy bottom and a healthy amount of cheese and toppings. And we're so habituated to outrageous prices that I was happy to see how comparatively inexpensive it was, honestly great price for the quality. They hopped on our order very quickly and were able to get us in and out the door in about 10 minutes. Very attentive and excellent service. Inside is classic parlor-style. Not crazy busy at all. We stumbled across Village Pizza and I must say we were pleasantly surprised. The pizza was Excellent! The mozzarella cheese was genuine and the sauce was flavorful making the overall taste awesome! If you ever find yourself in the small town of bonsall for any reason then this is a great place to stop by for some eats. It's a family ran place plenty of space inside for seating. The menu is expansive and has pasta, salads, pizza which you can get even a personal sized if you're alone. The staff is super friendly every time I come in. The orders are pretty quick the last couple times I went in. I got the veggie pizza personal sized I've had a salad here and I've had the meatballs and spaghetti and all was very good homemade and authentic. I like to compare tomato sauces to different Italian places around and this one is one of the top ones. I will return. Excellent, friendly service. Clean. It wasn't what I was expecting. It's walk in and order at the counter. The seating is nice and interior is clean. The lunch special is a good deal. It's one topping 8" inch pizza with salad for $9.99 currently. The salad is humble with basically iceberg with shredded carrots and a tomato slice, but it's a vegetable. I ordered the famous Village Garlic Chicken Pizza and was pleasantly surprised. (It is not part of the special price and will cost a few dollars more.) It was full of garlic flavor, sliced mushrooms, tomatoes, green onions and chicken. Hubby had his go to pepperoni which looked good. Nice crust and great flavor. Mine was so good that I just had to eat the leftovers later. We will be back for a nice local pizza. Warning: No alcohol sold and served. Expensive but great pizza, unfortunately terrible customer service. It always sucks to leave a one star review however this place constantly has an issue with telling you when your pizza will be ready. As a rule of thumb whenever you call in, you can expect them to be 10 to 15 minutes later than what they tell you. Frustrating. Now the one star review comes because after years of coming here I'd thought I'd figured the formula. I called in with a bigger than average order and got told "It will be 25 minutes" so again with the foreknowledge that they are never on time I arrived 10 minutes later than they told me to and even after that they told me to take a seat and that it'd be another 15 minutes. Annoying but no big deal. I then proceeded to wait 45 minutes more meaning it took almost an hour longer than they originally quoted me. What's worse is when I went up to ask what was going on the gentleman who "helped me" decided I was the problem when I informed him they were late with my order. read more

Food, not just the pizza, but all the food we've tried there, the knots, the sprouts, and of course, the pizza, all cooked to perfection 3. Went by last week and they were inspected by the health dept, and they were cited for vermin. Absolutely disgusting. I will never eat here again. Be careful what place you eat your pizza. Health standards at this place are questionable... I've received pizza and sandwiches that had hairs mixed in. It hasn't been an isolated incident as this has occurred 3-4 times. Advise folks to go else where that hold a higher regard to food preparation... We would meet different friends, and enjoy their Village Salad, house special pizza and a pitcher of root beer Last two visits the pizza wasn't up to par, small water glasses were given with the pitcher of root beer. We asked what happened to the regular medium size glasses. The reply, "we are trying to save money". So they have cut back on the quality of pizzas they are serving.
