This is one of my favorite parks in Providence with lots of things to do..it's located on the East side of Providence, near some nice restaurants and shops, so it's a nice break from shopping or eating out. Located at the tip of Blackstone Boulevard near the Providence/Pawtucket line, Lippitt Memorial Park features paved walking paths, benches, play equipment for ages 2 and up, and a newly refurbished fountain. Once part of Blackstone Boulevard and Swan Point Cemetery, the park was dedicated in 1938 to Alexander Lippitt, a First Lieutenant killed in WWI. From May through October, the park hosts a Farmers Market every Saturday from 9am-1pm. read more

Big beautiful tree covered park on Hope Street. Water fountain, playground, sidewalks. Very peaceful inside. Lots of parking.

Beautiful landscaping, swings and other playground equipment for kids, a summer farmer's market on Saturday mornings (with an artist's market along side) & Wednesday's from 3-6 - and Blackstone Boulevard across the street. It's dog friendly, with adequate trash barrels. What a jewel of an urban green space! read more

This playground is a family favorite. It's generally very clean and has a great vibe. Lots of people reading or having a picnic as well as families. Nice variety of playground equipment. Only complaint is the playground doesn't have a lot of shade so the equipment can get very hot in summer. This playground is busy, so you really need to wear a mask. read more

Music veggies and hummers Lippitt Park is a six acre park that is located toward the north end of Providence. An open area with old trees, a fountain and very cool playground but no hoop or tennis courts or ball fields. The park gets a whole lot of use in the warm weather and lots of people eat lunch here or go for short walks. The fountain is a bit iffy but I've heard that they finally fixed it. The park is home to a farmers market and a whole bunch of musical events in the summer and gets lots of people attending these events. A very cool humming bird sculpture type of thing is at one end but I've never actually seen any hummers around it. Lippitt is a very pleasant and useful neighborhood park. A nice use of the space that is well utilized by the people in the neighborhood. read more

Lippitt Park is a great little spot on the East Side to come chill with whatever goody you've picked up from any number of fab shops along Hope St and just enjoy. Although it's wedged between Blackstone Boulevard and Hope St, it's actually quite peaceful and quaint. I happen to love it here. One side of the park is all grassy and picturesque with a few trees for shade, a few benches for resting, and on some days, a wicked good hot dog cart courtesy of Chez Pascal. The other end holds the fountain and a fun little playground for kids. On Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings, the park holds the Hope Street Farmers' Market, which is awesome. Not only are there amazing local food purveyors, local artisans bring their goods as well and it's just a peachy time for all. Parking is street only along the Boulevard or Hope, but the park is large enough so that it shouldn't be a problem. Oh - and don't forget that Three Sisters is just across the street - go gecha some hand-made ice cream, kids! read more

Lippitt is an underrated jump-off point in our fair city. It's not tremendous, but it has all the hallmarks of a utilitarian-yet-halcyon green space. Better yet is its locale - adjacent to some great restaurants, as well as the Blackstone Boulevard walking/bike paths; you can park around here, then launch into whatever goodness you desire, in varying combinations. Sit here as the sun sets, then head into Rasoi or Cook & Brown for your evening meal. Lace up the sneaks and queue a hype track, and get running down the Boulevard. Have lunch at Rasoi or Garden Grille, then mosey over here to sit for a spell. Lippitt. Lippitt good! read more

I wish there was more playground here as it gets completely mobbed on the weekends and spring afternoons. The playground pieces suffer from severe congestion as kids cram to try to climb up. The large green spaces are only fully utilized during the summer concerts and such that happen here (which are fabulous.) decent sand area and swings. This playground isn't really built for toddlers, there are two elements for toddlers but the small slide is up the same set of stairs as the big slide. Serious design flaw that leaves kids of all ages jammed together and adults awkwardly trying to help their 1-2 year olds navigate the crowds. Otherwise it's lots of fun for the kids. Good picnic space and the fountain is nice during the summer. read more

The other day I had a total moment of Zen. Even with the noise of construction on Hope St., I felt at peace while sitting on a bench in one of my favorite spots, sipping on a lovely iced coffee from Seven Stars and taking in the beautiful fall weather. Where was this lovely place, you ask? Lippitt Park. Right off of the intersection of Hope St. and Blackstone Blvd, Lippitt is a great place to hang out and enjoy the awesomeness of my neighborhood. You can hang out under the trees with a picnic lunch, bring the kids to play on the playground, sunbathe on the large open lawn, or peruse the farmer's market on Wednesday afternoon or Saturday mornings. Even when the farmer's market isn't in session, there is still a chance that on a sunny Summer afternoon you will find a Dell's Lemonade , Like No Udder (vegan ice cream), or even a BBQ truck hanging around for your dining pleasure. Home of the Providence's open market on Saturdays and Farmers market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, Lippitt park is used exactly as it should. It houses a cute playground and a nice fountain, as well as several benches - in both sunny and shady sections of the park. There is ample parking along all 3 sides, but the park is not as popular as Blackstone Blvd walking trail that runs parallel to one side. Still it's a nice place to relax with a little something from Three Sisters next door. There's not really enough open space to play soccer or Frisbee, but there is definitely enough space to find your own secluded section to relax in. read more

Lippitt Park is a classic New England park. It is the site of many farmers and artists markets which kept me busy and my pockets empty in the Summer Months of Providence. While small in size, it is usually busy due to the adjacent shops and restaurants. During farmers markets it gets busier due to all the food trucks. I love all the trees and the easy access to Blackstone Blvd. After a nice long walk it is great to have a point to relax. If you have children, there is a huge playground and a big fountain too. It is great for all ages! read more

Nice open space to play catch or have a picnic. The revamped playground in Lippitt Park is awesome for kids. Very happy that the water fountain is functional again! In mid May the farmer's market comes back outside Wednesdays and Saturdays, big plus! read more

One of my favorite playgrounds, especially for its location. I stop here often with my 2 year old on the way to the grocery store or before hitting up Three Sisters or Wildflour. It's a good mix of equipment, some things for very little kids, nice swings and two slides. It does get busy on weekends... I avoid during Farmer's Market Saturdays - very congested!!! But a nice spot on most other days. read more

This park almost got three stars for a broken slide that needs to be fixed. But the grounds and other playground equipment are in good shape. Lots of different features for toddlers to play with here. Sandbox, wheels and gears and good toddler swings. Lots of green grass for dogs and babies 'n blankets. Pretty decent park all around. It's also nearby the Wildflour bakery and cafe which makes for a good pit stop before or after playtime. read more

I brought my daughter here yesterday. I'm disappointed in how much trash there was on the playground. There were larger kids on the playground who shouldn't have been on the playground too. My daughter liked playing on the slides, but it made it hard for her to play with kids who shouldn't have been playing on it in the first place and not using it properly. There's also two very busy roads that intersect both sides. There needs to be some serious clean up done. If you have small kids pick a nicer cleaner park. read more

Lip pit is an OK park. I used to go daily but I didn't like the off leash dogs. They are everywhere. If you have children you have to be within 6 inches ready to protect them from a jumping dog. As soon as school gets out the Pawtucket high school kids come hang out at the tot lot, that's a little fishy. 9th street playground is 100 times better. read more

Took our son to the park today and he enjoyed it! Lots of things for toddler to do at this park. It kept him busy for an hour and he knocked out in the car on our ride home after lunch. read more
