If there's a crystal heaven, it's Village Silversmith. Most higher priced items are in cases and there's an employee parked at different sections so you're never searching for someone to help you. They have tall cases and short cases full of merchandise. It is a bit awkward when you want to see something in the tall cases against the wall because the employee not only has to stand there with you (not really helping more just guarding the cases) but also has to hold your items up at the front. Every piece is visible and easy to see, but I wish they organized their layout differently. In the higher priced cases, the organization is by stone. It's easy to see your favorites and easy to skip over your not-so-favorites. The rest of the store is a bit more of a free for all - all different size/shape stones, each individually held in white boxes. They have everything from gemstone witch's hat medallions to crystal spheres in all sizes to gemstone stretchy bracelets. If you can't find what you're looking for at Village Silversmith, it probably does not exist. This was by far the largest crystal/gemstone shop in all of Salem.

One of the few crystal shops in Downtown Salem. The variety here is vast. There are different shapes and types of crystals. Prices are pretty decent. I ended up getting a green goldstone bracelet. I know that it is a man made material, but it's so pretty.

A store filled with crystals! OOooooHHHhhhhh~ done. Plus they have jewelry- hence the silversmith. But I was in heaven looking at so many different stones! Some raw, some polished, some cut. They had towers, points, skulls, moons, heart shaped- you name it!!! I found an incredible Super 7 crystal that I grabbed plus a lazurite and apatite stones. Super 7- Super Seven, also known as Melody Stone or Sacred Stone, is an extremely rare mineral with seven crystals in one. The crystals are Amethyst, Cacoxenite, Goethite, Lepidocrocite, Rutile, Smoky Quartz, and Quartz. Properties include: Insight, growth, opportunities, enlightenment, expanded awareness, intuition, self-healing and so much more. It seriously packs a punch in the energy department. Lazurite- Lazurite is a sodium calcium aluminium silicate sulphur sulphate mineral found in contact metamorphic mineral in limestones. Lazurite is most often found as a massive, and is commonly combined with other minerals to form the rock Lapis Lazuli. Lazurite stimulates the third eye chakra, promoting intuitive abilities and psychic development. Lazurite is the perfect crystal for the spiritual traveller, moving onwards in the direction of a being of light. Lazurite expands awareness and enhances memory. Apatite- Apatite is a naturally occurring gemstone, largely unknown to the general public but prized by collectors for its many different colors and forms. Blue Apatite is a stone of manifestation attuned to the future, activating psychic abilities and allowing expansion of knowledge. Apatite will stimulate the intellect and brings ideas from the mind down into the earth realm through realizations.

PROS: This is one of the best fossil and gem stores I've ever been to. The staff is nice and very helpful, they have anything you want in a gem store, and they have an assortment of fossils. They have a megaladon tooth, fossilized sea life, foot prints, and plants as well. CONS: The whole place may be clean but it's unorganized. If you wanted a shark tooth, or a certain stone a variety of them is scattered all over the place. There are no sections labeled with what they have. Also, many of their items are overpriced OVERALL: 100% come in here because you'll like it, however, be willing to spend a lot and ask the staff where a certain item is

I have been to more crystal shops than I can count and this place is the best one I have ever been to! We just stumbled upon it from walking through the shops in Salem and were SO pleased with the selection. This store is filled from top to bottom with incredible finds and the staff is very helpful and kind to talk with. BE CAREFUL because it's so easy to spend a fortune in there from how many COOL pieces of crystals and jewelry there are! :)

Best and widest selection of Rose Quartz penises on the east coast!! They also had thousands of other beautiful rocks and minerals and jewelry but they all pale in comparison to the assortment of rock peckers I rub it all over my face and forehead every night to absorb the negative energies of boyfriends past and fill me with the soothing energies that Rose Quartz fosters like empathy, reconciliation, and forgiveness of others. Lowering stress and tension in the heart.

AMAZING PLACE IF YOU WANT AMAZING PRICED CRYSTALS!!! I paid $8 for the selenite heart! Which is typically over $10 any other place!! The labradorite... you'll never believe me but $34!!!!! What!!!????? They had pieces of other crystals that were bigger than the labradorite and they were cheaper!!!! The chalcedony was $14!!! They had pieces of chalcedony in different shapes that were more than that but this one I loved! Also got this beautiful amethyst for $60!!!! Only one issue was I got this beautiful carnelian piece but they forgot to pack it in our bag, but thankfully I checked the bag before we went on our plane and I called them and the manager apologized and found it and said they would email a picture of it just to make sure (it was the one!) and then asked for me to just reply with my address and so they're going to ship it to me! Hopefully I get it soon! I wish I could've gotten more stuff!!!

Chief among them is Pentagram. It is a shop that is unapologetically itself. The incredible layout of the store has the air of a medieval apothecary and yet maintains an openness to anyone with a curious mind. Everyone who works there has an immense knowledge of both their store and the local area. The psychic readings are an absolute must (Chrissy in particular is an excellent guide into the art of divination). Is it more expensive than a street reading in your home town? Yes, but the reading is worth every penny. There is a wide variety of books from around the world and different practices if you're into that. As an experience however, I'd argue that this shop is as unmissable as any museum or tour. In the state of Massachusetts, Salem is the place you have to see, and while you're there, stop by Pentagram.

It's upscale voodoo with a touch of new age hipster with Greek statues and a large room for formal seances On this visit to Salem and browsing the shops we stumbled upon this place and #1 son (Matt O. - Pittsburgh) and decided he needed to get a tarot card reading! He wasn't disappointed, because according to him, his reading was with David and was the best! He helped guide him on a path that he thought beneficial to go down, and he was very glad he went. It's to be noted that different psychics have different skillsets and strengths and offer to help you with individual needs. In addition to card readings, they do chakras, past life regressions, and more. But wait, this is a tourist kinda area so this is also a cool store for some of the less common items. I almost bought a really cool statue of the goddess Freya, but my honey said no, as well as some nice protection candles. Very unique and cool atmosphere with a neat vibe. (Do I sound really old here LOL) All the staff was quite nice as well. Note on psychics: I know the whole psychic thing is not for everyone, but Matt loves to get tarot readings and several of our presidents consulted with them over the years. The word "Psychic" is derived from the Greek word "psychikos" which means "of the mind or mental". The origin of Psychics though dates back to ancient times. And the earliest account of the use of Psychic powers was seen in the Bible. For example according to Book 1 Chapter Number 9 in the bible, the biblical character Samuel is asked to find donkeys for the future king Saul.  There are also examples in ancient Egypt where priests of Ra at Memphis acted as psychics in the guise of a seer. So it's not a new idea and psychics are cool for those that choose to seek their counsel. Bottom line: If you are so inclined I recommend coming here if you are ever in Salem!

I found the energy here a bit overwhelming and at times catering to tourists, which wasn't quite the experience I was seeking as someone who has a deep spiritual practice. My mom had a great tarot reading here with a witch close to her age and said it was a wonderful experience. I wasn't a part of that experience so I'm a bit limited in commentary there, but I'm thrilled she was happy. The reading was done in an very small booth-like setting behind a curtain right against the hustle and bustle of the store (if you're an empath or claustrophobic, be forewarned that this can be very overstimulating). This felt unusual to me since I'm used to tarot readers needing energetic space and room to focus. OMEN has a fabulous selection of books I could have looked at all day. I'd love to come back to this store sometime not in the fall and see if my experience feels different. I adored the tarot artwork in the back of the shop and the nice selection of tarot and oracle decks.

It's no coincidence that Artemisia Botanicals was named to a recent Yelp blog of the top 25 herbal shops in the USA! I was immediately captivated by the walls and walls of teas, oils, essences, candles, herbs, spices, incense, tinctures, salves, soaps and more. Whatever you need to enhance your spiritual practice, they carry here. One of the things that surprised me was how deep commercialization of witchcraft had hit Salem. However, Artemisia is the real deal and fully unaffected by the deep capitalism otherwise running rampant through the city. They in no way are sacrificing their authenticity, quality or commitment to the community. One of my main goals while visiting Salem was to have a tea leaf reading...and I was absolutely blown away by the tea leaf reading I received here! It really empowered my desire to want to learn more about it. Tea leaf readings seem to have reduced in commonality in the young witch community, but they had a fantastic young guy here who was trained by elders. You have to stop here and check this store out. It's Salem and its finest.
