Many times food on buffets is older the later in the day it gets and I feel that unfortunately if you pay for a service in advance the (servers) that they do not work for what they know is already a guarantee their tip. Copper Roux was very helpful to allow me to pay after our meal. They assured me that the food would indeed be fresh due to a new serving time beginning at 1:30. I know that we have all had a buffet service that was more for to feed the multitude and for the ambiance than for the taste of food. Unfortunately this was the case for there Easter Brunch.The food appeared to be left from the first brunch serving. My husband and I did not have any food that was hot or fresh from the buffet. All of the hot food lids were open, there was a choice of 4 pieces of Fried chicken, the corn pudding pan had a square left and was sitting in a pool of water. I saw our server 2 times first when she came to take drink orders, I asked for orange juice and she did not answer so I ordered water, later I saw orange come around the corner for another quest and I said to my husband,hmm they do have OJ. Then at the end of my meal I received an orange juice. Bottom line is they are very communicative getting you set up for a reservation and I am hopeful that on a smaller scale there quality of food and service would be what one would expect for 2 people at $97. I would not recommend or attend a special event brunch at this restaurant based on food and service.

We would definitely come back. A few smaller annoyances. The check-in info was never sent through VRBO and we had no way to get in the building or our room which both require codes. Room 203 is very hard to find as there are no signs from the elevator. No signs or indications on where to park. The toilet seat bolts were off/missing. The shower door isn't quite wide enough resulting in a wet bathroom floor. Someone was using the laundry room outside our door until 11:45pm which was fine except for the very loud noise when the cycles finished. All of these are very fixable and wouldn't deter us from staying here again. Also noting they were super responsive to calls and text messages.

**A Magical Stay in the Heart of Historic Frankfort**…read more Our recent stay at the St. Clair Hotel in Frankfort, Kentucky, was absolutely wonderful. From the fantastic food and welcoming staff at The Howser Tavern which is downstairs from the hotel to the beautifully designed hotel suite and historic surroundings, the entire experience exceeded our expectations. We arrived a little early, so we stopped at The Howser Tavern for a quick snack and some excellent drinks. The restaurant is fantastic, with kind, attentive waitstaff and genuinely great food - I mean **great food**. The pizza choices alone included pepperoni and hot honey, pesto, Margherita, BBQ chicken, Buffalo chicken, and the Howser Special with capicola, green pepper, red onion, and Kalamata olives. The menu also offered cheese and charcuterie boards, soups, chicken salad, and wonderful sandwiches such as capicola and pepper jack, prosciutto and smoked Gouda, and salami and cheddar. Add in a wide selection of professionally mixed drinks served by a cheerful, knowledgeable staff who were happy to answer questions, and The Howser Tavern is worth visiting even without a hotel stay, try an Old Fashioned or bourbon. One especially fun benefit of staying at the St. Clair was a complimentary drink in the speakeasy. What a cool concept - and such a treat for tired travelers! Checking in was easy. The St. Clair entrance is clearly marked and visible both from the street and from inside The Howser Travern. We had one quick question about the room's keyless lock (that was us, not them), but the managers at The Howser Tavern who support the hotel helped us in about 30 seconds. We were inside the room immediately, and it was very nice not having to keep track of a key card. There are stairs and a roomy elevator for ease of access to the rooms. The moment we entered the hotel suite, we were impressed. The St. Clair beautifully combines the character of a historic building with modern comfort and convenience. The exposed brick walls, architecture, upscale furnishings, and new appliances create exactly the right balance of history and luxury. Whoever designed this hotel apartment did a wonderful job. Our suite had two spacious, comfortable bedrooms - one with what appeared to be a queen-size bed and the other with a king-size bed. The bedrooms were separated by the bathroom, which helped keep each room quiet and private. The mattresses, pillows, and linens felt luxurious, and everything was exceptionally clean. The entire suite had that perfect fresh, clean hotel smell without being chemical or overpowering. The bathroom was modern and spotless, with a very nice shower, plenty of towels, and a soft bathmat. My photos do not do it justice because I neglected to turn on the bathroom lights before taking them! With the lights on, it was bright, attractive, and extremely clean. I had seen another review mentioning water escaping from the shower, but we experienced no such problem. We experienced a well stocked, clean, modern, good water pressure shower. Down the hall was a large living space with a huge television, a comfortable couch, and chairs. The full kitchen included a table, plates, glasses, cups, a full-size refrigerator, a Keurig with coffee and supplies, a sink with soap and a sponge, a dishwasher with detergent, a stove, and a microwave. Everything looked clean, modern, and new. Parking was also convenient. We found easy street parking, and there is also complimentary spaces available to hotel guests in the garage directly across the street. The hotel's location makes the experience even more special. It sits along a charming old-town street with architecture spanning the 1800s through today. Nearby is a wonderful vintage-looking theater (with movies and bands), an outstanding music shop that we loved so much we wished it were closer to home, interesting restaurants and stores, and numerous historic landmarks. The Old State Capitol is at the end of the block, and the surrounding area offers waterfront parks and paths, historic information signs, beautiful churches, and homes and buildings from several periods of American history (1700-1900s) We enjoyed seeing places such as the old courthouse, Garden Hall, the site of the Love House, Liberty Hall and its gardens, the Bibb-Burnley House, the Lafayette tour plaque, and many other historic sites. Our visit felt magical, and I would love to return someday when we have more time to explore Frankfort further - we did drive by the current capital building (and visited the overlook) which was all somewhat close by where we were staying. I highly recommend staying at the St. Clair Hotel in the historic district. It offers beautiful accommodations, excellent food and refreshments very close by, friendly service, entertainment, fascinating history, and wonderful shops - all within easy reach. Did I mention the close buy cake, coffee, and the ice cream shops. It was truly a fabulous stay.

She is a busy lady, but would always respond back to emails/phone calls whenever she could. We met with her ~5x before the wedding to plan, brainstorm ideas, and review details. She gave a few options for the layout of the reception and how things would "flow" but I deferred to her judgment as I thought she would know what would be the optimal way. For selecting our menu, we had so many options. We decided to do a buffet-style dinner so people could have more choice over their meal. It was honestly so hard to decide on dinner choices because everything sounded delicious. We did a beef tenderloin and chicken meat option, roasted broccolini and smashed potatoes with the sweet potato kale salad- ALL delish. We are still having people tell us how good the food was! I brought my daughter here a few weeks ago to see the butterflies after remembering that my son enjoyed them when he was her age. At the time my son was here (years ago), the admission was free. However, it's now $10 per person. I was a bit daunted by this because I thought $10 just to see the little butterfly greenhouse garden was a bit much... .... then after we exited the garden, we stumbled across an amazing children's outdoor play garden! I did not recall seeing this place before and my daughter was absolutely delighted! We loved it so much that we left to go pick up my son and bring him back the same day. They both spent hours playing in the dirt, with the toy food, climbing the structures, making a water fountain, playing in the tent, and so forth. Definitely worth the $10 per person for them to have that experience. We were also blown away by the fun selection of decor and children's garden toys and accessories inside the shop. The employees were super friendly and nice, too. Great spot. Will definitely be back. This place has also inspired me to consider having a garden. Maybe.

Even though we didn't see many butterflies this time, the visit was still wonderful. The greenhouse is full of beautiful flowers and the landscaping is very well done. It's such a peaceful and relaxing place to walk around. We also bought a lemon tree, which became a lovely gift for our daughter. Highly recommend visiting. Especially after May if you want to see lots of butterflies!
