This was a nice relaxing stop. There was a guitar singer playing some good music. If you are a fan of dogs there are 2 large friendly dogs here for petting. This winery is also located in the area of a few distilleries and chocolate locations. We did a couple flights and all the wines were very good.

My husband and I were in town around New Years. We stopped by this vineyard and had a lovely time. The tasting room was beautiful, service was great, and we enjoyed hanging out with some 4 legged residents

Such a friendly spot to cozy up by the fire and enjoy some wine. The service is so kind and generous. We visited on a chilly afternoon so it was nice to have seats on the couch in front of their fire place. I partook in one of the wine tastings which was not your usual presentation. I enjoyed all the different tastes and smells the wines presented. I can't say enough good things about the staff and how they treated us. It feels like family. I would recommend this winery visit to anyone in the Frankfort area. Such a cute spot and even kid friendly. Have lots of animals on the property such as horses, chickens, llamas, a dog and a few cats.

    6 Tastings for $12

Prodigy came across my search for wineries just outside of Lexington. The inside is very rustic with the traditional wine counter, tables to sit at, and a lot of items for purchase- clothes, cups, hats, and more. A tasting comes with 6 samples for $12 each; very reasonable! The wines were good but nothing we thoroughly enjoyed. Most were on the sweeter side even if listed as dry. The server who helped us was extremely nice and attentive!

Food was good!, service was good, and Ambiance was Amazing! They allow you to pet the horses, dogs and cats, and walk around, an amazing dog, some cats, some horses. A wonderful day and experience!!! Amazing wine as well! They also have some live music as well! Not sure if just weekends or not.

    No a very busy place

Terribly slow service. It wasn't very busy. There were two people working. We weren't getting food just some wine flights. And we had a time line since we had reservations at a distillery. I usually don't give bad reviews but we ordered and waited and waited and others came in and we were served out of order but out of order and not at all are different things. I made the mistake of ordering a charcuterie board no even asked if that would take too long. We were going to just leave, which again I never do, but then 30 minutes in half of us got our drinks. So we had to stay.

Wow I can't believe I hadn't been to this winery until now. There were so many great wines in our tasting. My favorites were the Chardonel, Pinot noir, Traminette, Riesling, raspberry wine, and port. I love how they use test tubes for the tasting flight as well. Nice visual touch! The only drawback is that you need to pour each tasting into the same glass so you need to be prepared to rinse out your glass after each sample if you don't want the wines mixing. The scenery is beautiful here and I can't wait to go back in the spring or summer when it is green and even more beautiful. The property is really nice to take a walk and see horses, chickens, and cats as well.

We enjoyed a wine tasting, added the charcuterie board which has several nice selections to accompany the wine samples. The service was excellent & took care of all our needs. The grounds are beautiful!!

We enjoy the ambiance of prodigy winery. The selection of wine is wonderful and the service is always excellent. My favorite wine is the Black Dog Blues. It's very sweet. Prodigy offers a wine flight for $8 and you receive a complimentary free wine glass to keep as a souvenir. They have a wine club for additional discounts and festivities. Their charcuterie board was also excellent. Their gift shop also has many wonderful trinkets and gifts. We will definitely be back!

This winery is very hit and miss with me. Sometimes it's great and we make an afternoon out of it. Other times, it's just eh. My latest visit was more on the eh side. First off, I appreciate the precautions they are taking with Covid. Staff is wearing masks and customers are asked to wear masks unless seated. The tastings have moved to test tubes. As you receive a complimentary glass with the tasting, I would have preferred to receive the glass at the beginning of the visit so that I could pour the test tube into a glass. I felt like I was going wine shooters and couldn't really enjoy the wine. We also got a cheese tray. It was just ok. 3/4 different cheeses with 4/5 slices each, a handful of nuts, a bit of mustard and some minced looking something (we didn't taste it because it just didn't look appetizing). Maybe we should have asked for a knife but it was kind of weird that we weren't given anything to spread the mustard and soft cheese with. I do enjoy the wine and already had several bottles at home so I didn't make a purchase this visit. The test tube situation was a bit strange and kind of put me off of making this a winery to visit again. Maybe it's just a Covid change though, so I'll keep my options open in the future.

I love wine. I love winery hopping. This is called Chrisman…read moreMill Vineyards. I expected a vineyard. This is *actually* a tasting room at the mall. To be fair, according to Drink Ky, they have a vineyard that is not open to the public, but the winery page on Yelp takes you to the tasting room. So...I think my expectations left me a little disappointed. I still love drinking wine and I wasn't going to say no, but I thought we were going somewhere else. That said, the space is lovely. A nice retail area, brightly lit and clean. The bar area isn't extensive, but large enough to seat a couple of small groups. We sat at the end of the bar and were greeted quickly by the guy working. He explained the tasting options. Flights range from $5-$8, and you get three generous pours or your selection of wines or sangrias. I opted for the wine flight option. My selections were the Vidal, Sweet Jessamine Rose, and Sweet Riverbend Red. They were alright, nothing that made me want to buy a bottle. Apparently they are in the midst of a special offer for a free fondue plate with two tastings. That was a nice surprise! The flights come served on a barrel stave. It is a nice idea, but it is a little unstable. We both thought it was a little funny when the music that was playing switched to "Get Low" and some other club-like music. The fella liked it, I kinda killed the ambiance for me. If you are shopping at the mall in Lexington, and need a lil' wine time, Chrisman is a good option. If you want to go to a winery...this will probably disappoint you some as well.

From the windooooooowwwww to the wall... (more on this in a moment)…read more By all accounts, this place should be five stars. It is part of the mall area so it's not really a vineyard. It's more of a mall shop where you can also do tastings of their wine. Parking is plentiful. You have to keep in mind... you're at a mall! There are plenty of spaces and as long as you're not a pampered person that needs the closest spot, you'll be just fine. The guy working greeted us right away. They have a few different flights but none are over 8 dollars. Each flight gives you three generous pours. No complaints there at all. While we were drinking our wine, music was playing. It was a mix that fit the store perfectly. It was us, another couple, the worker guy and another worker girl that came out. At one point we started to hear, "Three, six, nine, damn you're fine. Move it till you sock it to me one more time" Yes! You guessed it... skeet skeet skeet. We noticed it right away. I said, "This is the unedited version too. Awesome!" The girl working noticed it right away and started laughing. It was funny but the guy working went ahead and changed the song. I understand that if the wrong crowd heard that song, it would stir up controversy. In my opinion, if they can't take a little skeet in their ears, then they probably shouldn't be drinking wine. My flight consisted of dry wines. The Norton, Norton Reserve, and Firefly. The Norton Reserve was my favorite of the three. Easily drinkable but I'm not sure if I'd need to buy a bottle or not. Our tasting also came with a fondue board. That's a nice little perk that we weren't expecting. When it comes down to it, this place is brilliant and more malls should lease to tasting rooms. For all the people that don't like to shop with their family, significant others or children... walk down to the winery and drink for a few hours. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here but if you're already in the congested mall area of Lexington... go ahead and stop in.

We did a wine tasting. I was disappointed that the tasting only consisted of three offerings. It seemed a little shy for the price point. After the tasting, we settled on Afterglow, a very sweet wine. The four of us enjoyed our purchase while we sat at a picnic table in the courtyard and enjoyed the jazz. The wine prices themselves were very reasonable and the selection was robust. This proved to be a great place to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. We will be back. This place gets five stars from me. The scenery, atmosphere, and overall property create a relaxing environment that feels very "Kentucky wine country." The staff was also incredibly friendly, welcoming, and wonderful with families and kids. The gift shop and tasting space itself functionally was not laid out in a way that made the experience especially easy or comfortable to enjoy. For those of you interested in tastings, there is nowhere comfortable to sit during the tasting process, unless you want to trade into plastic cups and head outside. This unintentionally created a rushed feeling, even though the staff themselves never pressured us. As for the wines, I tried the Cabernet Sauvignon, Equestrian Series, and Crimson Cabernet. I personally tend to lean towards drier, more robust wines, these felt fairly lackluster overall and lacked the depth and balance I personally look for in a wine that can either stand confidently on its own or pair beautifully with food. A few of the sweeter wines others in my group sampled came across far more grape-forward than expected and reminded me more of juice than a refined wine experience. (My overall impression was they paired more with $10 bottles than the prices that were asked) While the staff was clearly well-intentioned and friendly, the overall tasting experience lacked some of the seriousness, polish, and professionalism that you would expect from a true leader in the wine space. We had to request that glasses be emptied and cleaned between tastings, water was never offered between pours, and some of the finer details that elevate a winery experience simply felt overlooked. That said, this place has a lot of potential. Between the scenery, atmosphere, and welcoming team, I could absolutely see why Talon Winery would become a favorite spot for locals or visitors looking for a casual afternoon outing. However, for those looking for a polished, elevated "Napa-style" wine experience, this may not quite be the home run I had hoped it would be.

The tour is free and you get a tasting of 4 of their bourbons at the end (plus a piece of their amazing chocolate.) The gift shop has everything you could possibly want related to BT. They also have nice selection of bourbons available for purchase that I'm not able to easily find in PA. On the day we visited they were giving out samples of their new RTD bourbon lemonade and their bourbon cream with root beer. Needless to say, we purchased all three of these items! We did grab lunch at the John Carlise café on-site. It was delicious and affordable. We had the Bluegrass Melt which was loaded with meat and came with chips. Their chocolate chip cookies are also quite tasty. I recommend grabbing a bite to eat here. Overall, I was very impressed with the organization of the BT tourist operations. They efficiently moved hundreds of people through quickly, while still creating a welcoming place. The friendliness of all the staff is commendable. We will return in the future!
